Let's wrap up the last days of summer with a quick look at two new Casio G-Shock watches with translucent elements: specifically the DW-5600LS-7 which is from a lineup of multi-colored neon watches and the brand new GM-5600SCM-1 from a family of metal-covered G-Shocks with transparent styling and camouflage patterns.
Both watches are really cool in their own way. Personally, I like the texture and colors of the DW-5600LS-7 but also love the stainless steel bezel and camo pattern on the GM-5600SCM-1. To each their own!

Sadly, my experience, all translucent Casio band will change to a yellowish color by passings time, about 5 years, even less than first battery change in some models
I think sun uv light will ruin the material.
It's a Cool WATCH ! I would like to add it to my collection !
I don't mind the yellowing. I just enjoy it while it's pretty. And when it does yellow, it gives it a bit of character.
On my GW-5623E the yellowing goes very well with the golden parts.
They gather so much visible dust that I had to switch on metal, full metal 2019 2020 ones. Love them all and gather more compliments than any model previously own. Baaaang!

Scrap the clear strap and bezel . Put an orange bezel and strap to match the orange surround on the module and it would look great
The metal G-Shocks I have beat my 2 Tissots by far in terms of attention and compliments. Amazing and pure Japanese ❤
I actually just got my first G shock, the GWM5610. I was pretty skeptical about it at first because I have pretty small wrists at 6 and quarter, but ever since putting it on I love it. Basically has become my daily driver. Might pick up one of those surf gshocks you reviewed a while back! I might never financially recover from this...

Go for a GWX-5600: additional solar and MB6. No battery replacement.
I really like the white with the clear over it. I almost wish the band mimicked the basil color. But I also wish that stopwatch an adjustment button was out more. I really do love the look at that watch but that’s the feature that prevents me from making a purchase because it’s so difficult to push in

The GM5600SCM1 the metal camo one would look amazing with the grey smoky translucent strap.
I agreed with you about the bands due to I have, it needed more improvement for lady watch almost same color, but it has good bands.
I winder how the orange dial onw will look on a black case and strap or a metal kit.

Got my Skeleton camo two days ago and I love it ! Sure the stainless steel make the difference ! My only disappointment is the screen, I was wearing a 5610 before and I noticed immediately that the skeleton shows the characters a bit... washed out ? It is more close to a soft black than full black characters, I don't know if you have noticed this too ?
Anyway not a deal breaker, it is still readable, but I will say it doesn't pop as much as the 5610 characters.
Regarding the band, I like it, it is comfortable, but I'm also a bit on guard about the fact it will turn a bit yellowish with time... tough it will take more time in my country with the lack of sun. But maybe they used a good material that will not turn yellow, I know that some silicone are made like this, I bought a case for a device made with silicone and it was resistant to UV light.
Yeah I've noticed the LCD differs across various Casio watches. It's not too bad though. We shall see if the band holds up but I do prefer the black band on this one.

The thing that holds down the extra slack on the band is called a "keeper".

Nice video! It's tough to tell, but what are the colors in the GM-5600SCM-1 camo bezel? I see grey and black...is there a bit of a green shade in there as well? I can never tell from the pics I've seen online.....

I'm not sure, but I would say probably not. I've tried fitting bands from my GWs over to GMs and they don't really fit.

@@WatchingCasio my wrist is smaller than yours, it's just that I hit gym so my forearm is wider. The GG1000 fits very nicely on my tiny ass wrist you should get it anyway its a very useful watch and since I go on forest expedition and such it will serve me nicely

I agree, though you can get translucent bracelets and bezels for pretty much any G-Shock aftermarket.

Translucent bands become yellow. They're not the best option if you don't want to loose your time searching for spare parts etc..

Uhm... How many is too many? I have a dozen G-Shocks and only have the rare split-second thought that I may need start thinking if I should maybe consider the probability of trying to pause for 24 hours before pressing that "Buy a G-Shock" button :-D

I absolutely do not want to sound mean with my question let that be known. But, when you wear the SCM it looks HUGE on your wrist. Is that because it is a huge watch or do you have smaller wrists? Because I don't like those big bulky G-Shock watches I thought I'd ask. Great video. Great tip about that "plastic" band!
