- YAY! It finally worked, the do it yourself javelin rocket launcher is complete! After 3 weeks of trial and error its working superbly. The model rocket/rc plane is quite a trip to build and luckily after the 5th or so prototype it works consistently.

hello
TheBackyardScientist rip
I love how all the science youtubers are all so inter-webbed u always see stripol and grant and tbs in each others comments. Its so cool what u guys do keep it up bros!
It was pretty cool though... If you make your own rockets, you can make them bigger with a lot more power and a lot more speed.

Still more advanced than North Korean missile systems.

I've been in this hobby for 30 years, and I'm 33 years old.. your level of building talent is the best I have ever seen Peter.. honestly you are one person I very much wanna meet. I'll teach ya hard core 3d heli flight if interested.. you da man my friend, I enjoy your vids and you have support on its way right now
What heli ?
U can actually make an real guided missile for under 100 dollars
Hey Peter, I was a javelin gunner many years ago when I was in the regular Army. I think this is freaking incredible! I was never much of a gamer, but it's definitely a gamers weapon complete with 4-way controls. A lot of money for a 21 year old kid to be carrying around too. We were told by the Raytheon guys that came to my unit that the tubes cost 70K apiece and the CLU (command launch unit) was 125K. Anyway, nice work.
That ending rocked Peter !
Haha, Thanks Dude!
Don't mind me I'm a random Passing by comment...

I remember watching videos of Peter and his younger brother flying indoors back then. One of the most innovative guys in RC period.

**The Department Of Defence Wants To Know Your Location.**
David Yes. They need to make sure he doesn’t get recruited by North Korea. North KOREA WILL HIRE HIM ASAP. He makes better rockets than the scientists of North Korea.
Correction: The Department of defense knows your location
Lol
Nice! I think you should now be sitting nicely on at least one watch list :) Awesome project! Cheers. Eric
I'm pretty sure someones already opening up the folder they have on me somewhere and is adding another checkmark! :D
PeterSripol It's okay, back when I was building my Lear cockpit and posting the videos I saw plenty hits on my website from "authoritative" sources. Imagine I'm still on a couple lists too ;) Cheers Peter

Revisit this with Grant Thomson's sugar rocket motors. You can create your own motor for less than a 50 cents.
He tried that. But gave up after he realised that the tree stump remover he'd bought didnt contain KNO3. Maybe source some...
Kevin Wang Amazon maybe?
I found some at home depot that had pretty much 93% KNO3
Kevin Wang Spectricide stump remover is almost 100 percent potassium nitrate
A Crustacean that's I was going to say
not only do you have the skills to make all these awesome projects but you have the patience and persistence to keep trying until you nail it. great work!
Most underrated video by Peter 😂
I miss you on flite test will you go back?
Andrews RC He mentioned the topic on the 100,000 subscribers video. He said full time job on flite test, no but would probably try for some collabs. Miss him at flite test too ;)
Andrews RC I
Ethan Wawrzynek I
I think he is best on his own...he did not get the visibility he deserved on that show. He is a mad scientist guy that wants his voice heard and I am glad he did what he did. Maybe flight test can pay him for some cameos and possibly use some of the stuff they are trying to sell in a project to cover the business and science side of things.
Definitely, he has 1/3 third of the followers of flie test, but also way less people to pay :)
Absolutely Flawless DIY. This is the first attempt I have seen on The Javelin; congratulations on your success. I can only imagine how much time and energy you put into this. Keep em coming.
Nice job, the war footage looks better than most of the war footage we get from the TV.
Missles went further than North Korea's
will someone donate a real Javelin just for fun ?? ..hello mr. Bill Gates ...hello mr. Bezos ..
Your skills Peter always amaze and inspire me! Great video!
What a genuine guy. I'd support you if I didn't need support myself. (Edit: financially speaking)
Finally, now I know how to make a javelin.
Aight, I’m off to the elderly home.
This is one of the coolest things I've seen in a while.
This would be a cool airsoft project....
And a impact sensitive device that ejects lots of bbs like a airsoft claymore.

Well, the world has a new weapons engineer. You should definetly consider to put a parachute in the top to prevent those crash downs. Also, I think, you might aswell melt your own engines with a bit more power, and, of course scale up the test area. Awesome project up until now, would be pleasing to see more of this!
Feuerwerks FunGE The world has another spoiled kid with a rich daddy and a shed full of CNC gear.
Take away the fancy printed shit (which the machine made for him based on a model downloaded from the Internet) and you are left with a cardboard tube containing a model rocket engine, a child's toy stuck together with hot glue.
>inb4 u jelly.
No, I am saddened that so many consider sticking premade parts together a "genius" activity. Nothing here was designed from scratch or truly self-made, which is why despite the many confused comments "NASA" will not be beating at his door. Although I could be wrong, the tech industry is desperate to recruit more brown people, as we saw when the Muslim boy took apart an alarm clock and stuck it in a suitcase last year, suddenly he is the press darling and "genius inventor."
At least this kid is sticking the parts someone else designed or made together on his own, it's a start.
Well, if all of this is so easy, I wanna see your part in this competition. Of course, he MAY not designed the parts himself, but are you sure? Until you show me the templates he used online, I believe in that he designed them all by himself. And of course, a CNC machine makes the job way easier, but you could still cut them yourself, however, why waste that much time? Still it's a considerable amount of technic and dynamics understanding which you are in need of to properly build everything together. If you begrudge him for his money you don't have.... just stop complaining and work for it. Also, the comparison with the muslim inventor kid just isn't fitting, or did PeterSripol ever say he does all this for becoming a job or for any job releated issues or just for fun?
Wow Sleepy Hollow, we didn't really need to know about all your emotional damage... maybe try professional help rather then YT comments.
I don’t know why. But the shot at 1:57 keeps coming back to me for some reason. The combination of the music, drone , lighting and the memory’s of old peters Chanel keep that shot in my mind all the time.
Classic stripol vids never get old love all you goofy dudes rock on

NAZI DOG
I like Australia, but i think even this toy is a "restricted weapon" in Australia
TSA would have a field day with him bringing that through as carry on, even if it got through, Aussie customs would probably go "nope!" ;)
That intro oh my god🤣
I loved the self distructing message at the end!
All your projects are awesome, but I think this is my favorite so far. Job well done Peter!
Congrats on the completion of the javelin. Was there a second rocket in there to try and keep it flying? I saw a second burst when it was coming in for a "landing". Thanks for taking the time to video your projects and uploading for all to see.
Hi Jamie,
The 2nd burst was the ejection charge of the motor, normally on the engines I purchased they pop after 4-6 seconds.
Gotcha, Looking forward to what comes next!
Good morning Peter, Question for ya. I have a Guinea pig (the plane you designed) not the little animal.... I pretty much learned how to fly RC with it. It was my first plane, that being said it has had a few unscheduled landing and the tips of the wings have gotten a little beat up. My question - How much would the flight characteristics be effected if I was to cut the wings down (wingspan) about 5.5" from the wintips inwards? Thanks in advance for any info on this. Hope your having a good day -Jamie
Hmmm, I think it should actually fly OK! you may notice a little bit more wing waggle or less aileron control at lower speeds. Other than that it should still perform ok. Also be prepared for a faster flying plane!
Hope this helps!
+PeterSripol Faster plane, I won't be complaining about that. If I get any noticeable waggle I might try some wing fences or winglets. I'll keep you posted. I'm headed out now to give the guinea pig a final few flights with the original wing. Tonight the chopping/modification will commence! Thanks for the information. Have a good day! Jamie
you're really awesome peter. I want to support you. im going to go on your Patreon page and buy some stickers.
AHHHH MY GOD PETER THIS IS SO BRILLIANT. I love the whole channel. Keep it going!
I like how the rocket lands and nothing happens and then there's an explosion. Love it!
Zero dislikes. Let's keep it that way
Sorry to burst your bubbles, but 5 people couldn't handle the awesomeness
Why do people get so worked up over dislikes? Haters gonna hate. Use them as success indicators.
as soon as you said this I had to dislike. I had to.
Tevin P i use them as fuel units in my garage
Given your handle is "Chaos", I'm not entirely surprised lol
Try engineering an fpv camera good the nose cone and a flight controller to guide it 🤔🤔🤔
Peter you are extremely talented the experimental builds you pull of are amazing
thank you for providing so much entertainment with what you do
incredible Mann ! the shot where the first launch gets successful, the feeling was overwhelming ! loved how it soared high up wid so much of control and stability !
How has this guy not been recruited to help develop new weapons for the united states???
It's a cool vid but this is same level tech as was available in ww2. V1, fritz x and the like. It's not remotely close to the capability of the real javelin.
@@angry_z_rider4275 haha its not even any near v1 rocket technology.
Hey peter, do a Part 4 please
Wow. Seriously, that's amazing.
FANTASTIC!!! I've always wanted someone to pioneer horizontal rocketry.. anyone can shoot a rocket straight up... keep refining it!!! MORE!!!
Do some more Javelin videos!!!!!
Pete, I would recommend looking into potassium nitrate sugar rocket motors. For a size to size comparison, they are just as powerful and only cost about 50 cents to make. Grant Thompson has a good video on how to make them. Since they don't have that black powder ejection charge they are also less likely to explode.
Was this the type of motor which was featured in the October Sky movie? I'd think that a rocket motor contained in something more substantial would also be able to be reused and perhaps have a 2nd stage added.
In the October sky movie they used Potassium Chlorate and sugar: It's a rather unstable mixure, the Potassium Chlorate is susceptible to explode in presence of organic fuels.
Ray Jones I doubt it, KNO3 and sugar is an easy to make and stable fuel but not nearly as powerful as military grade stuff.
Mat Holliday You literally put it on the stove and mix it, then pour.
Great Mate, glad you are on our side...
Love it! You make some cool gadgets!
Wait, was that outfit and tie you where wearing a direct intentional reference to Colin Furze. Way to go, your like Colin Furze 2.0 anyway!!!
lmao at the ending! So that rocket and launcher look pretty real, I'm pretty sure I'd poop myself if I was walking down the street and saw you launching that thing. Have your neighbor's freaked out on you yet? lol
Hahaha, nope not yet. Ive been largely keeping this one away from the roads! But I did actually see a blackhawk fly over the neighborhood and turn away a few minutes after testing this thing.... No joke LOL, I hope its just coincidence.
Hahaha! While watching this I thought "hopefully he won't get arrested!" =)
Great vids and great build!
The black hawk turned away because they don't want any trouble. Merica'! In all seriousness, great build. I could see this being used launching gliders just use three-stage rockets for higher altitude.
thank you for including every aspect of the show. such as music taken from and equipment :) thanks
I just watched some of your stuff on FliteTest and of course all the plane builds were great.... But the humor you infuse into your personal channel makes it way more enjoyable and fun to watch. Keep up the great work!
he is going to build nukes sooner or later
Like the new style of videos, but more RC stuff would be cool. Just a suggestion
Will do! I'm definitely working out the flow on which way this channel may flow! More RC stuff it is (it may be a few weeks though)
Idk why i love rockets that have fins that deploy after launch
