After a little break it’s time to continue to the next campaign: Operation Market Garden. Here I’ll take command of Kampfgruppe Lehr, the Panzer Elite. One of two factions added with the Opposing Fronts expansion.
Compared to their Wehrmacht counterpart, the PE are entirely an offensive oriented force. Their units are expensive, but pack a very mean punch when upgraded/vetted up. Best way to utilize them is to be constantly on the move to keep pressure on your opponent. Thing is, this campaign will force you into defensive situations where you hold the line. While that sounds contradicting, the best defense is a good offense.
Whenever a PE unit is promoted it gives the player the choice of either upgrading offensive or defensive stats. I advise looking up on the CoH Wiki if you’re curious as to what those actual upgrades entail. To sum it up: Defense increases speed (vehicles only), suppression resistance and health regen (infantry only), total health as well as overall damage resistance/dodge chance. Offense on the other hand increases rate of fire, accuracy, reload time, and penetration.
Now you’re probably expecting another detailed breakdown on my methods for the first mission. Well, there isn’t much to say here. It’s the first of eight so it’s very easy even on expert. It’s essentially a glorified tower defense. Just build some Panzer Grenadiers, upgrade/keep them and your vehicles alive with good micro, and be ready to shift around the map to counter the British commandos. Only strategy beyond this is to attack the gliders from right to left so your forces can return to the Flak 88 in time to support the first wave of jeeps and ensure you obtain that medal for destroying then all. @@michaelandreipalon359 yeah, the OF factions really were able to snowball if played right. Was hard for the previous two factions to keep up.
was half expecting you to use the German voices for this one like you did with Metro 2033 but with the Russian voices. Still, they did a decent job so it's not too bad with the English VA.
The RNG giveth 11:19 and the RNG taketh 13:43. What a crazy start to the campaign. Great job so far! Can't wait to see more Panzer Elite action.
Shame kamikazes might not be available in a theoretical CoH 3 Pacific campaign scenario.
Also, there's that glider at 14:58.
@@michaelandreipalon359 that glider didn't seem to kill anyone though by the looks of it. Also yeah, depends if they'll even bother to add the Japanese. They'd have to make up a melee system to go with it.

Great start. Been looking forward to this run after how clean your last campaign was. Plus I'm learning how to play this game again, so seeing these factions I barely touched my first run through helps a lot in figuring out their quirks. I totally forgot how PE veterancy worked.
Same! I always assumed it was just more damage or more health. Didn't realize how complex the system was till now.

I like the way this army plays, the hard and violent pushers..its appropriate for a blitzkrieg based strategy the germans were known for, and I just like zerg rushing things. Looking forward to how your going to handle the opposing forces moving forward :D

Oh, and I'll be roleplaying a British commando leader for this campaign... hope I depict that well.

Your RNGesus were really kind to you. Normally there would be at least 3 planes falling on top of your squad or, worse, an aircrsft falling right on top of your AA gun.
