First Annual COVID Debate - Healthy Debate and the U of T DOM

In June 2021, Ari Bitnun, Andrew Morris, Jennifer Grant, Colin Furness, and Martha Fulford debated a notion that has once again become the subject of intense dispute as Canada sees a huge spike in COVID-19 cases: whether schools should never be closed as a means of limiting the spread of COVID-19.

This debate is from June, 2021, before Omicron. As we are now, in January 2022, weighing our options, I think it would be better to be transparent about the date of this discussion. It precedes Omicron. Whether or not the participants use have changed, I would appreciate it if you would add a description clearly stating the context and date of this debate.
