When your neighbor keeps parking in front of your house

- I've asked these people kindly in the past to please stop parking in front of my residence because it hinders us from having an area to park our other vehicle and guests. As you can see in the video they have an OPEN spot in THEIR driveway...yet they still choose to cause issues with us by not parking in their own driveway. The frustrating part is we had zero cooperation when we expressed this to them kindly. If it were occasionally, I'm good with that...however we are talking weeks on end. I tried communication with them about it...I was understanding if it were occasionally, I've picked up their trash that they have dumped out of their car, delt with looking at the Cherokee all summer in the same spot, but in the end; after a simple sprinkler adjustment and 20 minutes they don't park there anymore.

I feel the frustration. My inconsiderate, asshole neighbors do this all the time and block a portion of my driveway. Meanwhile, they have an open space in front of their house. I tried to explain that blocking part of my driveway makes it difficult for my wife to back out in the morning. Currently searching for the biggest rusted out eyesore I can find to permanently park in front of their house.
A free car wash? Killing them with kindness huh, I like how you think.
JJtoob yeah, and then the water dries up and leaves water spots all over the windshield. Now that's epic.

I see comments below saying, "Who cares?" You'll care when you can't see to back out of your own driveway, when the mailman doesn't deliver because that neighbor parked in front of your mailbox, when the snowplow skips your house because he can't get under that neighbor's car, The streetsweepers skip your house and maybe entire street, your garbage company can't get in with their lifts to pick up the dumpsters, etc. Worse yet, our neighbors have 6 people living there to make their rent, they don't own. Two of the men are HVAC workers and have their two cars and each have a huge HVAC van they keep at home too. Selling and moving when we retire, had enough of rude people living like sardines 10 to a house.
But they aren’t blocking anything…they are just in front of your house on a public street.
In my neighbor hood people park in front of their own house it’s a respect thing...
Exactly what it comes down to.... RESPECT FOR OTHERS!!

This is perfect for people that don't have a lot of spare time, a car wash while you're parked and quick shower as you enter and exit the vehicle!
Why do so many people think that the street in front of their yard is also their property?
This is super petty but funny 🤣
When the space is free in front of their house it makes you mad. It has happened to me too.
@@louchat333 I am sorry but you don’t own the spot in the street in front of your house.
Omg...I was literally thinking the same thing. Parking where I live is a Nightmare!( city resident here) Even though some try to park in front of their house , no one gets bent out of shape about it.
I totally agree! Who cares if they park there!
Non of the commenters are on your side, except me. It annoying when people park in front of my house instead of their own. Blocking my mailbox. I've flattened more tires than I can remember. I don't get why they park in front of my house when there are no cars blocking their own spot in front of their house. Then have to walk the rest of the way to the house. Even though people have the right to park in front of their neighbors home because the street is not owned by anyone, I think it is rude to park anywhere except in front of your own home unless you are having a party or some other gathering.
I know some neighborhoods don’t have driveways and yes it is a free for all when it comes to parking and that is completely different and it is not rude to park.

I've had a neighbour's visitor block my driveway a couple of times, no matter what I tried the guy just didn't care. So I borrowed four dollies from a neighbour who is an amateur racecar driver and paid some kids a tenner to push it into a bus stop. 15 minutes later the bus comes round, reports the parked car and the cops towed it. I've lived on a corner for the last 40 years, never had this issue until the flood of people from across the border. The new arrivals in house beside me, have parked literally blocked my entire driveway entrance numerous times. Both the new arrivals next to me and the new arrivals behind me have two driveways. Now the new arrivals behind me are parking a giant flat bed tow truck along the curb on the side of my property. I have an injured back, it makes it hard to mow my grass to the street curb and pick up trash with their vehicles there, as well as then you have to worry about harming their vehicles when mowing. Also I had planned to eventually add more driveways to my property, kind of like both of those houses did, yet how can I do that with their vehicles parked along the curb around my house blocking constructing that? Meanwhile they have zero vehicles parked on the street around their houses, just in both their driveways and yards.
i have a fire hydrant in my yard, anyone that parks in front of my house gets towed..i tell them, police drive by all the time, they never listen..
so you can't park your own car in front of your own house.

The only one who is hurting here is the person who is paying the water bill.
@@jchacon9362 I'm sure the additional 70 cents per month on his water bill is absolutely killing him. Rain isn't hard water, which is why it doesn`t leave water spots. Most people have this figured out when they're children.
Parking on the street is a nuisance, especially when you have neighbors who turn the effing street into a footpath.
The street is city property people! People blocking your driveway... I understand.
Is it illegal to park outside someone else's house over in the states. Over here in the UK you can park anywhere as long as its not blocking a driveway or parked in restricted areas. You own your house and driveway not the road the car is on.
@sparky12x correct, we have one in the house opposite us and before I had a drive I had to park outside his house. Kept leaving threatening notes on the car and getting aggressive when he'd been drinking. Soon changed his tune when the police told me to keep parking there and they would charge him for numerous offences if he did it again.
nope
no ,,in most states ,,when you purchase a property you are paying to the center of the road ,center of creek, so many feet into a lake...on the street side its called ROW or right of way, it belongs to county and or city..as long as your drive way is not blocked you can park with no problem
No it is not illegal to park in front of someone’s house here in the states. At least here in California it’s not.
Yes, its that way here too. But so many people think that ,people shouldn't park in front of their homes, which is ridiculous. They don't own the street!!!!
Unless the street outside your house is owned by you in America , it seems to me the person hosing the car is looking for trouble , and that’s just silly since neighbour feuds make life hell .

@@humanchildofgod3126 Why do homeowners go around saying "I'm a homeowner"? Lmao
Where I live, if it doesn't move for a week, you can have it towed as an abandoned car.
I don't have a problem with neighbors parking in front of my house. I have a problem with neighbors intentionally not parking in front of their own homes, not using their driveways and/or long term parking cars in front of other's homes.
We have a family on our block who will park everywhere, EXCEPT in front of their home. One guy was so confused because he is across the street and two houses away. Additionally, there were always 4 spots unoccupied in front of these jerks home. He thought they were intentionally trying to piss him off. So the guy waited for them to park and got out the pressure washer. He caked their car in mud and debris. They no longer park there. 🤣
So they started parking in front another guy's house. He had a one car driveway and two cars, so he was never able to park in front of his house. He was forced to build a two car driveway.
These jerks would claim that the spots in front of their houses were "not safe." One day a tree collapsed and absolutely obliterated their car while parked in front of another's house. I laughed in their faces and said, "Safe spot huh?" Karama is a b*tch. 🤣
But despite all this, they still will not park in front of their own house. It's crazy. It's like a sick mental addiction to irritate other people.
Yes, I would do the same . Piss on it everytime I feel the urge. Go for it !
Mighty friendly washing your neighbours car for them
My neighbor is not only parking in front of my home but he's driving up on the grass which is going to leave bald spots. So annoying!😡

People in apartments and condos have to share parkings all the time. We dont act entitled over parkings that ARENT ours. Yet house dwellers do. They think they deserve the respect of reserving a PUBLIC parking simply because they live in a house. That is called ENTITLEMENT of homeowners/tenants.
Damn, a lot of people In the comments have never had a neighbor who parks in front of your house instead of their own. I'll explain it to you people what the problem is.
When the neighbor parks in front of your house instead of theirs, it's at the minimum annoying. Now you have to park in front of someone else's house and annoy that person. Now they have to park in front of someone else's house and the cycle continues.
Now everyone has to walk further than normal to their car, look at someone else's car in front of their own house, and everyone is now annoyed with everyone. It's not only annoying but kind of odd.
Why would you park your own car in front of someone else's house? That's the question you should be asking yourselves.
Exactly, it's not about being illegal, they just rude and ignorant sometimes also lazy to park in the driveway, do they blocking the road... at least they should do that on the front of their house or the house they're visiting

I don’t have a problem with people parking on the street, but I’m am currently feuding with my neighbors, who rent by the way, keep parking in front of my house where I park! I have a fence in my front yard because both sides have been turned into rentals, so it’s to keep them off. I don’t have any private parking, yet they do and insist on keep parking in my damn spot. I know I can’t do anything about it, but I’ve been around here way longer than them. It’s like a driveway in front of my house where the sidewalk meets up with my door. It’s annoying.
Yes the street is free, but you want to enjoy the view from your house. Not of their car. I’m sure they park elsewhere and they leave their view unobstructed in front of their house

If they are preventing access to a fire hydrant or your mail box, it’s a problem. It can also be difficult if parking across the street makes it hard to pull in or back out of your driveway. Otherwise, I don’t understand the issue. I lived on a narrow one way street with multiple apartments and multi family homes. Parking anywhere near my apartment could be hard to come by, especially when it snowed.
Several yrs ago we had a school bus stop at the corner ,,,,,my daughter would park in the back and parent's that walked their kids to the stop would drink and sit on her car waiting for the bus , I put a sign up saying beware of water sprinkers. Yeah two sprinkers aimed on both sides of her car. Only took the first week to figure out what time to set the timer to turn those sprinkers on. Got several wet and they got the message , I also collected the liquor bottles. After one loudmouth said something , I revealed I had them and their finger prints as well. Totally solved our problem
Yes it is public property but it's still annoying as hell. I live next to apartments, and these people just park all over the neighborhood, in front of my house like there is no tomorrow. LIke I said they are allowed do that but can you imagine if I parked in front of there houses/apartment? How would they feel? They would probably slash my tires and be very upset. The irony.

I kinda like this. It basically does no damage to the Jeep. They are made to sit out in the rain. Complaining about it did not bother him in the least and as far as he was concerned, he could park there anytime he wanted, and when you complained, he probably enjoyed that it irritated you. But when you changed thing up and made him irritated that he had to deal with a wet car and your sprinkler shower any time he wanted to use the Jeep. You reached his irritation threshold where it it annoyed him more than parking there and dealing with the sprinkler. It worked. And it only took 20 minutes!
This is exactly what we do at my home when people park in front of my house. There is a school across the street with plenty of parking and people will literally park directly in front of my mailbox and get pissed when I ask them to move so I started doing this... One lady forgot to roll up her window... Got a interior wash also lol.
Wow. What a douche of a person you are.
I would send my son out there to wash it, but unfortunately he is grown. When he was four he decided to wash my car, so he took his socks off dipped them in a puddle beside the driveway and proceeded to scrub my car with his now muddy socks.
For some reason, I think that's funny! Good kid was just wanting to help keep your car clean! lol
I would too, Free carwash. We had a neighbour on the corner with his driveway access around the corner in the next street. He would bitch and moan, that we parked outside on the road behind his fence, nowhere near his driveway. He would call the council and the cops and we were within our right to park on a public street. But we decide to move and park for a week around in his street. VW, a Dyna truck and horse float, a Landcruiser and a HQ ute.
My problem is that I have a new neighbor who filled his driveway with boats and has no room for his car. He just decided that completely parking his car on my grass is fine even though he’s never even waved to me.

It's rude to park in front of someone else's house, but it 100% legal
I'm seeing a lot of the same nonsensical outrage arguments. "You don't own the street!"
That's not the point. People know they don't own the streets. Most of them do anyway. It's a matter of character. The fact that they have a choice in the matter and they choose to inconvenience someone else by forcing them to have to park farther from their property reflects negatively on their character. If you've got too many cars in your driveway and in the space in front of your house, you should be willing to assume the responsibility and accept the burden of parking further away because you're the one creating the problem in the first place. You're making a conscious decision to turn your problem into someone else's problem, and that reflects poorly on you.
Good for you! We all have to live together, and inconsiderate people are only that way because there are usually no consequences.
