I did fly the Ethiopian Airlines Business Class last month. I flown the A350-900 and B787-8 Dreamliner. It was a great experience and the cabin crew was really friendly. I also got a nice room at their Skylight Hotel. I will only travel within Africa with Ethiopian Airlines Business Class because no other African arline company meets these standards.

I lived in Ethiopia from 1967-1969. My father was a manager, on loan from TWA, to help Ethiopian Airlines expand. Back then, Ethiopian Airlines had the Boeing 707 and the DC-3. I really enjoy your videos. Especially, the videos of the luxury hotels in exotic places. It put on my own music and watch with fascination and relaxation. There are very calming and spiritual. I hope one day to travel again.

Dear Doctor, I don't know what to write this time. I read the incredible vitriol in these comments and its depressing. I can only chalk it up to commenters who haven't followed you for very long. Otherwise, they would have realized that those two have already journeyed to places the rest of us can only dream of or visit vicariously through your postings. Travel is (or should be) a mind-opening experience, and through their journeys with you, they're gaining experience that will serve them well in a world that you and I will not live to see. All children deserve that. They don't deserve the wrath of purported adults.
And to the rest of you holier-than-thou types who feel compelled to negatively comment on the children: "Lighten up, Francis."

Unfortunately travel will become even more of a luxury than now. The budget airlines will be the first to go. The flag carriers will get bailed out by their governments. For example KLM already got 3.4 billion euros from the Dutch government. With the budget airlines gone the flag carriers can increase prices because of less competion. There's no signal that this will be a short-lived crisis so it's likely to happen. Mentour Pilot did a video about this. czcams.com/video/5UJR9JFdMYI/video.html

The first time I ever saw this practice of parents flying in business and children in economy was on a Middle-Eastern airline. I decided to give it a go on a future flight. Needless to say, after about 1 hour into the flight, I was "forced" to give up my business class seat. On a subsequent flight, it was business class for all. This time, a classmate of my daughters happened to be on the flight, so she went back and spent the whole flight in economy. You can never win with you kids:)))

I've been flying for business since 1997, and i don't know of any other company that had improved so much than EA. They did so many endeavours. Since 2015, when I have to go to some African country, I always choose EA (even with that awful stopover in Bole, the worst part of the trip),mainly because of
their unbeatable value for money ratio.
Day flights are - as for many airlines - better, and thus you can enjoy Injera :)
Pilots are very talented and highly capable, FA are professional and very friendly if you know how to ... The real millstone around EA's neck are marketing and front office people.

1:50 is this your lovely wife? The amenity kit ok for, i think for business class i could be a little bit more. Food portions for the meal service look adequate, i hope the ride over was an enjoyable one.

Another great vid. I also took them to Cape Town but from Heathrow. We took the A350 and B777. The good points were it was my first time on an A350, the middle seat was free, entertainment system was good and we arrived on time. The not so good points were the cold pasta we were served (the last dish available in Economy but was still supposed to be hot), a random passenger suddenly jumped out of his seat just before takeoff and decided he wanted the middle seat next to me (luckily he was directed back to his allocated seat), as soon as we landed lots of passengers seemed to be used to jumping up and opening the overhead lockers whilst still going down the runway and Addis Ababa airport left a lot to be desired (I’ve heard they are updating it). I made a short vid of my trip. Feel free to check it out czcams.com/video/_vFMiDL48XQ/video.html

It is business class medium range I’d say. It was ok but there is a lack of attention to details but overall it was ok. I’m glad on my flight we don’t experience the passenger brushing their teeth in front of everyone, though 😆
