Best version i've ever heard, how come Brock doesn't play it like this ? still however missing the little enhanced guitar flick( or what ever it's called) which is played with snare and gives it the correct sound, listen to the original and you will here it. Lemmy sang it brilliant, Calvert's lyrics about his Bicycle, I'm sure Lemmy got the Motorhead sound from Calvert's album "Captain Lockheed" which he played on, listen to "Widowmaker", it's pure Motorhead

I'll probably get a lot of flack for this but at the start I get the vibes of Caroline, especially up to the 7 second mark, by Status Quo. This would have been a great track for the Piledriver album alongside Roadhouse Blues. I can just hear Rick Parfitt ripping into that silver machine riff! Roadhouse Blues into silver machine and finishing with bye bye Johnny.

Lemmy was in the Rockin Vicker something like that before Hawkwind, and then he's got fired to have speed in his pocket at the border of Usa/Canada. The last song he wrote for Hawkwind was Motorhead, and the rest is down in history.

Before Hawkwind Lemmy was in Sam Gopal, before Sam Gopal he was in Rockin Vickers. However these are bands which he recorded with. There were few more bands where Lemmy didnt recorded but was in it, like Opal Butterfly pre-Hawkwind era of Simon King etc... and Lemmy wa in bands in early 60's too.
