I rarely ever spend money on League for skins but the one time I make a large purchase to be happy about it myself, it seems everyone wants to tear me down under the guise of me supporting an 'immoral' pricing on Riot's part while others spend thousands over the course of years.
After 11 years of playing League, and maining Ahri for all these years, I've waited 10 years after Faker lifted that trophy to get a skin like this.
It seems no one really cares about my situation of why I bought it. I also literally gave away $500 to people to spend on anything they'd like to gain a bit more traction for socials but I guess people didn't seem to see it that way.
Maybe this will be my last video of Ahri.

Nah I get it, same for me started with her even if I didn't play fully the 11 years and not as much as you so definitely If I were you I would have done the same I guess. Doesn't mean you agree with them but you are kinda tied. But you shouldn't stop tho, it's just quick reaction from communities that will fade off over time and hard to play ahri with this skin :D

This skin is immoral. There's no way a cosmetic can cost this much and not change the visuals above the level of ultimate skin don't try to hide the fact that this is just a spit in a face for most people yeah you did a give away it did not change the fact that 99% people can't enjoy it just because they can't spend that ridiculous amount of money on this rip off and "celebrate" Faker. This is a joke.
You know exactly what the difference is between spending money on the skin privately and doing a video + giveaway about it publicly. You‘re an influencer, and people like you are called that way for a reason. I‘ve spent a lot of money on league over the past years, but we‘re not talking about a $10 skin here. I get that a video like this will probably drag a lot of attention but is it really worth it? I know that people like bobby would‘ve done the same if Leblanc received the $500 version. It‘s essentially just about what you want to represent on social media / youtube / twitch. I get that you waited for a skin like this for so long, but you‘ve also known about the rightful controversies about it. And sure, each and everyone could decide for themselves what to do with the $500 from the giveaway. But you‘re doing a giveaway of that exact amount of money needed to buy that skin, at the release of that skin. You can‘t tell me there‘s no connection. In the end, it‘s all about honesty.

The skin is gorgeous but has left people scared of future prices and lowering of the quality of other skins
*The main thing people don't understand is that Riot will strip other Legendary skins of their animations to give them to their Gacha variants, like Peacemaker Yone. In the past, Riot would gladly give the base version his wings, but since they had to justify the $200 price, they stripped the base version of some cool animations. This is a fact because the 1820 RP Katarina Legendary skin has animations that rival an Ultimate skin for a lower price. Instead of Riot improving skins in general and making the majority of the player base happy, they decided to ruin skins and make the minority of the player base happy. Simple as that. He can buy whatever he wants, but it's starting a butterfly effect that will ripple throughout this game's history. We saw the same thing in TFT, and now it's happening in League. If it were me, I would give this skin to everybody, for free! Like Annieversary. I mean, that skin is one of the best in the game and it's totally free for everyone. That would be a good way to celebrate the player who NEVER pays for skins. But that's just my opinion.*

The league community could have just stuck together and delayed the purchase of this skin. Could have forced riot to drop the price, so they wont do these kinda of promotions or encourage them in future produtions.

I have it too, i not playing too much the game but for me either i dont buy act anything for me and Ahri is too special, i jave everything for her, i really like this champion. Hey great vid, the skin is very good but i can't afford it so i ll have to be happy with the risen legend one which i still love it just frustrated that rhe ultimate one is 200$. Anyway not spreading you do what you want with your own money if it makes you happy then i'm happy for you. What do you think about the malignance / black torch/ liandry build? I really like this 3 core items and i like the lich bane one too just i think the double burn si really broken right now. Also is first srike better now than electrocute? I was wondering if content creators would get the skin for content rather than just complain about the price even though they could get the skin and make content with it earning them back the money they used to buy it without a problem, Im glad someone did it.
The amount of people sore over the fact that someone is willing and able to afford a collector item that they like. I don’t see anyone furious and protesting against luxury goods LVMH, Pokémon cards, jerseys, autograph and some of the weirdest things. Why complain over a beautifully designed meaningful skin? No one has the right to determine what something should be worth to another. And it is no one’s business what someone else ate for breakfast, or what they choose to buy with their money. Unless they’ve got nothing else going on in their life.
All the items you mentioned are physical items that can be resold as they have actual value. Once league ends service, you lose the skin as you don't actually 'own' anything. Don't get me wrong, I have no qualms about people spending money on what they want. I just wish they actually get something more than just a collectible in game with how absurd the cost is.

This is absurd. I support the boycott and I'm 100% with people being frustrated with the situation but we don't need to attack other people over it. I think LegitKorea makes good content and I'd assume that he's well aware of the vocal outcry going on, but if he still wants to purchase the skin for whatever reason then it's completely his choice.
Don't get me wrong, I wish that exactly 0 people would buy the skin, but it's a fact that it's going to get sold. Humans are choosing many things collectively because they care about fairness towards others. That’s the issue I believe here. Unfortunately with sharing content, you can’t just act pretending it doesn’t impact others because it does. Your view on this point is a bit narrow minded since you are benefiting from collective decisions in your life without realising it and yet, you are saying that buying this skin or not is only an individual issue when it’s not. I feel like this is very selfish to not acknowledge the fact that it’s not a personal matter since it will indirectly impact other players whether we like it or not.
That said, I don’t condemn people for buying it even if I am convinced that riot is taking the piss. The decision is very difficult to make. As an ahri main I get why you’d want an exclusive skin and why you’d want to flex with it. That’s humanly natural. But I’m kinda scared to see where all this is going. We cannot think of it as a one shot expensive price. Riot will use it as a test to see if the community is willing to pay for more and hypothetically, would follow a possible rise in prices in general. People are trying to see what difference this skin will make and what it could imply to tolerate this price on a longer term. That’s what’s discussed really atm. People don’t want prices to rise ridiculously in general. This skin offers riot a chance to say “they pay, we rise prices: they still pay, that’s fantastic”.

I play a lot of ahri and on matchups I do not understand well I always watch your videos to help me better. I also am a huge faker fanboy, he is my favorite player so I understand the -favorite champ, favorite player, perfect skin. You did a giveaway of it which means you spent more money on others than most of these haters will ever spend on their parents or friends. A lot of these people boycotting were never gonna buy the skin anyway, me and my friends (im the only one of my friends who has the skin) were joining lobbies and laughing at how fast I was getting called a virgin among other names. The fact is right now the skin is just a hot topic and people are going to say things, they must have it well in life to complain this amount over some pixels while there are people in the world that dont have food.
