Great Video, Solid Gear, & you sir, sound remarkably like Bill Murray ( on of my favorite actors) I closed my eyes a couple times & I swear I was listening to Bill Freakin' Murray! Ha! Awesome. Y'all must be from the same region. Cheers !
I bought one of his the hidden woodsmen haversacks over a couple of years ago and it's so awesome it's my EDC now! I got the OD green one with orange inside and I love how you can find your gear in low light situation's! Great quality bag and the best customer service on any bag I ever bought!
i like the idea of the side molle. would be great for a water bottle or knife sheath. IMO a molle panel would be better on the top flap instead of velcro. IMO a zipper or buckle admin style pouch would be better suited than the the front 'velcro pocket'. looks great tho.
Very nice Haversack. I like that it has some depth so many are envelop style and just don't carry a water-bottle well or a small cook set. thanks for sharing ATB John
I just received a prototype pouch for my molle 2 and your correct, his craftsmanship has really gone up, and that isn't me saying his old stuff isn't great because it is. It's just like everything, we get better as time goes on.
I recently got the ranger green haversack of Malcolm's and I consider it to be the best most useful piece of gear I have. Had a hard time settling on the colour. I was going to go with the brown. Excellent quality. Made for a lifetime. Totally recommend any of his gear to everyone.
I like the design but I would add some extra strapping to the bottom to tie on or rather strap on a few tarps or a one man tent and tarp set up with a ground cloth for shelter just in case also a little more mole webbing on opioid side and add two paracord loops inside one for keys so that they are not lost and the other for a small light to see inside at night it would help a lot also add a pocket on the inside of each one to hold fixed blade knife and the other to hold a folding saw, plus add on inside of both external pockets bright color to see inside of them easier.
Great video, I just picked up one of his new haversack in ranger green. And really love it. Attached my pathfinder bottle kit to the molle on the side and was good to go.
it is an amazing piece of Gear...one thing I would ask malcolm to add is a Rubberized / water proof base on the bottom. and maybe some small mollys on the handle for attaching items. And a pouch in the Flap lid, to put a Note Book / maps. cheers ;-) Beautiful Bag indeed !! ;-)
Nice video Larry. I like my surplus medical bag. You could wrap duct tape above the hatchet to protect the handle and make it fit better. Maby some paracord too..
Yep, you can do all sorts of mods to this. I really like it, but like you said you like your medical bag. So long as it is good gear and you like it, then it works.
Hi Larry, really nice haversack! The axe doesn't bother you against your hip like that? If so, instead of turning the bag around just add the axe holder to the front. But maybe a balance issue, I don't know. But I know either way I would at add a velcro flap to keep the axe secure in it's place. Ted
Hey Larry ....loved your haversack so much I ordered one today with Malcolm ......as a Mather of fact I told him I want the Larry Roberts model....LOL ....but very true. Also sub'd your channel today as well.....
Great bags , but I still have a problem with my haversack sliding around to the front when I bend over. Also, it hangs up on brush and a problem when climbing over a fence. A small back pack is much better to free your hands and less cumbersome. I have two haversacks that I use, but prefer backpacks.
A Finnish gas mask bag can be used as your haversack. It has a second sling that you can wrap around your waist or leg to prevent that cumbersome sliding from happening.
You can use your old one for a hat lol ask Malcolm lol. He makes some awesome gear and keeps getting better. As he wld say vera shurp lol he's the man! Great vid as always brother. No bow drill out there in that crap lol
Lol yeah I dnt hate Pa as much when I watch your vids brother. It looks cooold up there for sure. And fire now is always better than fire later when your hands start losing dexterity for sure. Thanks for the share my friend. Im glad Malcolm is coming along great!!! Stay warm my friend.
Ei Pi Yep, or even a dry bag if you want to go that route. I like how it kinda limits what I put in it cause of its size. I'm a pack rat, so if it was any bigger I'd carry too much.
Seems pretty nice.. I've been looking at his website for a while now. I might have to get something down the road. Thanks for the video By the way.. is that the way you always make your fires? Light the tinder and put the wood on? I do that too.. and I've found it to work much better for me.
Eat Carbs 90% of the time thats how I make my fires yes. Only once in awhile do I put everything together first. By putting my wood on after I have the tinder bundle on fire it gives me more flexibility to ensure success in my opinion.
Hi Larry. First time writing to you. Question, where do you get your's wool garment. If it is self made, then where do you buy the fabric? Great channel, very educated.
I love the look, and the material, but can you have them made without Velcro. I wonder if most people know how far away Velcro can be heard when you're out in the wild? Even people can hear it at remarkable distance when he woods are still. Animals can hear it even farther away. It's just not a good choice for hunting, and the worst choice possible for a bugout situation.
Design and sell a product solely because potential customers want to say the word _“haversack”_ in front of others. That’s both lame, and smrt, at the same time.

Turtle Bushcraft Yep, I noticed that too. It really does have some depth and it can really hold what you need it to. Thanks John.
I just received a prototype pouch for my molle 2 and your correct, his craftsmanship has really gone up, and that isn't me saying his old stuff isn't great because it is. It's just like everything, we get better as time goes on.
***** Exactly, we get better the more we do stuff. His early stuff has served me very well indeed.
thank you justin. looking forward to seeing you use that molle pouch
I like that pea green on the inside. It actually looks kinda cool and bright yet still natural in color.
I agree. It really brightened up the inside for sure.
I recently got the ranger green haversack of Malcolm's and I consider it to be the best most useful piece of gear I have. Had a hard time settling on the colour. I was going to go with the brown. Excellent quality. Made for a lifetime. Totally recommend any of his gear to everyone.
Awesome, glad to hear it. Malcolm does great work for sure.

that was to nice ones. That yellow inside was realy smart becouse pretty often everything lay on the ground coz you dont find it. Good choise Larry.
magnus andersson Thank you Magnus.
You should add in some Bill Murray quotes, your voice is very similar.

Kanzee Give him a shout, I bet he could do all those mods for you.

Personally - I am a Hidden Woodsman, in the sense that I am not in the woods at all ... just don't expect to find me there ... I've hid away.
Nate likes that set up.
The Otter Outdoorsman It is pretty cool for darn sure.
Very Nice! I do believe I will have one pretty soon. Thanks for the heads up. You could always send me the old one LOL ;)
themoodybobby1 Post up some pics when you get yours. My old one will stay with me a bit longer. lol
I really like the new haversack with all the mods you had done
Randy Huffman Thanks Randy, I am really liking it for sure.

Ted
Well now I want to upgrade my HW haversack!
Michael Travis I'm glad I did. :)
Nice pack n some really good videos from you lately.
smokeycanopy Thanks man, I appreciate that.
Cool bag! I really want one of these.
Teds Outdoors Get a hold of Malcolm, he does great work.
I just e-mailed him.
You won't be disappointed.
Hey Larry ....loved your haversack so much I ordered one today with Malcolm ......as a Mather of fact I told him I want the Larry Roberts model....LOL ....but very true. Also sub'd your channel today as well.....
mfavia620 Thanks man! You will not be disappointed in your haversack. It is one piece of gear that no joke I will never get rid of.

A small back pack is much better to free your hands and less cumbersome. I have two haversacks that I use, but prefer backpacks.
I lean toward backpacks unless I am traveling REAL light or if I'm collecting things, in other words using it like a foraging bag.

John Kenneally No bow drill that time for sure. My hands said "fire NOW" lol. I might have to try it out for a hat..I could always use a new one.
Thanks man you too!
Great looking haversack. His products are definitley getting better. How does the bag carry with the Axe where it is? Thanks for sharing. atb
Opal Preston Shirley There is a axe loop on the back. Thanks for watching Opal.
Sweeeet!! Haversack, love the axe sleeve..thanks
+88woodbikes Malcolm makes some great surf for sure. Thanks!
the best feature of haversacks is that you can line the inside with a plastic bag and seal it to make its contents waterproof
Ei Pi Yep, or even a dry bag if you want to go that route. I like how it kinda limits what I put in it cause of its size. I'm a pack rat, so if it was any bigger I'd carry too much.
***** i'm the same way..i had to go to a bag about that size after i filled up my LIBE...i knew i had a problem then lol
Seems pretty nice..
I've been looking at his website for a while now. I might have to get something down the road. Thanks for the video

what a beautiful bag.
Thanks!
Larry, I'm going to get myself one, thank you!!
I don't think you'll be disappointed at all.
Hi Larry. First time writing to you. Question, where do you get your's wool garment. If it is self made, then where do you buy the fabric? Great channel, very educated.
I have a wool Boreal Shirt from Lester River Bushcraft and a few shirts from a lady close to me in WI czcams.com/video/h9GMXiKu9yg/video.html
I love the look, and the material, but can you have them made without Velcro. I wonder if most people know how far away Velcro can be heard when you're out in the wild? Larry what did you end up doing with that older Haversack? I'm actually really curious
I still have it. I don't use it as much now that I have a newer one.
Sir, he makes NOTHING. He farms it out, sells it large, makes his cut. He is good. He is nationwide. He is household. He is profit. Enjoy yourselves.
Nice Pack.
survivalbushcraftand emergencypreparedness I really like it, thanks.
Great review....I just subbed
Tell me about the blanket sweater you're wearing.
I love it, and it’s reasonably priced. I have a video of it called my primitive wool shirt. This is her email gmarap@pctcnet.net
great video
That haversack would make a jelly fish hard
Great bag review - was looking in the comments to see if anyone asked about your sweater? Is it wool? Where did you get it?
Thanks
All my stuff is wool. czcams.com/video/h9GMXiKu9yg/video.html
Cheers Larry - appreciate it.
I found a sack very similar to that at a garage sale for $1.
Whaat hatchet did you have there
Lil Mike I had a Wetterlings Wilderness Hatchet.
Is it made in USA?
Yes.

lost of sewing is improper and non professional.
That haversack would make a jelly fish hard
lol!
