Hi everyone! What grade (out of 10) would you give this video?
8 out of 10
8 for drama and visuals but 0 for logic.
@@vladimir0rus what exactly do you mean? 0 for logic?
@@Battledragon4 It is clear that autopilot works because captain do not use manual controls like joystick.
@@vladimir0rusactually if you look at 0:01 (and way better in 0:23) on the left side of you screen oh his chair you can see a joystick 🕹️ (in black)…..probably because it is an older version. Also the ship starts moving again and steering as soon as he sits down.
You can see the joystick better in other clips where more of this scene is shown/ before everything escalates.
His acting at the 3:15 mark was absolutely brilliant. Wordlessly communicating a feeling of shock and knowing that he's about to die -- the look on his face and the uncomfortable shifting in his chair said more than anything else could.
it was in this moment of death his soul was transported to Asgard to become the God of Thunder with his courageous final act of heroism.
Pretty sad to have to sacrifice yourself and not see your son. At least he got to hear him before he died 😔 crazy events
We are Men and die for our sons and daughters. Unfortunately society has changed so much that few are left, that’s the sad part.

An absolute gut-punch to the audience to start the movie. Genius move by Abrams.
Giacchino's score brings back memories from the Lost series.
“Your father was captain of a starship for 12 minutes. He saved 800 lives. Including your mothers. And yours. I dare you to do better.” What a movie. Bet Mark Wahlberg regrets passing on this role!
Did he really?
@@DeenBakare yea I saw an interview where he was offered it but turned it down because he just couldn’t understand the script. He said he wouldn’t turn down working with JJ Abrams again if he got the chance
I’d only seen it once and then not for a long time. Because my memory of it was vague, I’d thought it was Evans instead of Hemsworth.
This is actually an alternate timeline, and in that timeline on that day, his son starlord was born, where for such a sacrifice, his reward was to go full ego in Asgard
... he is worthy.
Dude was on his way to Xandar to retrieve the Power Stone, and this happens.
He should have aimed for the head ähhh bridge 😂
Optimus Primal: His sacrifice will become our oath.
He should called Mjolnir
Yoga asix yeh thor was I fsct prty much the faster of Steve trevor here
@@zacharyjochumsen9677 Nooo..... Loki Lafeyson Kirk.
Yep That's guy Thor
There's nothing a father wont do for his wife and children.
What was that
Song at the end of the video, on the red screen
That's how a hero dies-saving hundreds of lives in a suicide attack because somebody has to. The starship itself was no match for the Romulan ship, but NOTHING shrugs off a full-ahead ram by a starship moving at almost the speed of light. We see here just where Kirk got it from-what an opening.
6 bc you’re missing 10 seconds b4 which is critical
Yes agreed
Clean shaven Thor is good.
What race was the doctor lady with the big eyes?
Looks like some sort of alien-human hybrid.
That guy Thor???
yep
I knew it!
I did forgett that Thor was the father of James Kirk 😂
Couldn’t they have used a transporter to beam him off the ship?
Pretty sure in that universe it was only possible after scotty got the code from old spock? that might only be warp beaming I cant remember
@@prime1918 Aha!
Every secuence of star trek where a ship got hit, transported are offline.
Transport him where and how? I don't think shuttles have transporter platforms.
@@perrosaurio725 to be fair not only do they not have the code on how to transport from a moving target yet, transporters also need the energy to turn matter itself into energy and then energy into matter once more, that takes SOOOOOO much power so if for any reason power isn't readily available you cant use them
Chris hemsworth Birth Place On Space
what a death! epic and useful.
Hisssss… be gone avenegers generation…. Hisss
The woman should be given the Tenno Heika Banzai award medal for her husband's bravery.
He was only captain for a short time, but it made him Thor all over.
😏 Warp core should of exploded 💥and disintegrated half of the universe
He obviously rerouted the primary plasma conduit to invert the quantum flux matrix of the hyper dilithium fusion core 🤷♂️
"and the baby too"
the cringy delivery of this line was just as memorable as Chris Hemsworth's stellar performance as Kirk
If autopilot was damaged what kind of system guided the ship on a collision course? There is no manual piloting by the captain. He just sitting in a chair. What funny bullshit =)
Plot device. But I imagine that Autopilot was a bunch of separate computers that required to have minimum set of sensors operational. Think Tesla autodrive mode - probably it shuts down as soon as even one camera or proximity sensor drops out. If you don't have all the sensors, it will not function properly because of algorithm it uses. On a ship like that you probably have redundancies but if you get hit by torpedos and it wipes out 40 meters of your ships body, it might take out even redundancies.
@@Zhaitsev if autopilot disengaged you must piloting by your hands.
Maybe there *is* manual piloting? Seriously, you're restricting your own imagination just to find something you can bitch about.
Only when reaching a certain distance can the collision course be gaurenteed. Any distance before that, the Autopilot would not work and the ship could just fly past if the Romulans simply moved out of the way. There's a point where the ship zero's in and a collision is gaurenteed no matter the the distance and neither ship has time to move out of the way.
Apparently the weapons control/targeting was down to manual, not the flight control. So he had to input target priorities and such, maneuver the ship to be able to cover the shuttles.
It is possible for some subsystems to be online but the overall system to be too damaged (either computing power missing or sensors) to operate fully independently.
