Am I the only one why thinks he struggles to beat his man? Just a trend I picked up on watching Antony all season.
I think he isn't fast enough in his 1v1s, he takes too long to get moving which allows for other players to get behind his man
Imo his real issue is timing. There is some good quality there, however he needs to do a couple of things, number one, work on pace. He’s quick yes, but his acceleration is way better than his long distant sprint. His legs get too tired too quick and he loses all momentum. Time when to burst forward. I like him I really do but I’d be shouting at the screen saying, right run now, and he’d just roll it and then try run too late. He’s still has enough pace to beat people in the sprint but he times it all wrong. I’ve said it before as someone who is a pacey winger, not matter how fast you are, if the defender is wel positioned you ain’t getting past
He is 23 years of age there’s no “working on pace” you do realise it’s a genetic lottery for the most part ? He could train with Usain Bolt for years and he’ll never be fast over a certain distance when spiriting, that’s not how it works

Hes also 'fake fast' where he looks fast cause hes small but in actual fact covers so less ground with them short legs and gets pushed around easily.

I'm a man utd fan and I can tell you that Anthony is so crap and boring . He slows the temple down everytime he has the ball. He is crap in positioning without.
