Lectric XP Trike: In-Depth Review

Christian Livingstone recommends the off-the-shelf Lectric XP Trike to a friend, after seeing the Lectric pre-release video of the unit, and also due to the pre-release sale price of $1499. Christian has personally developed two electric trikes, which include numerous power transmission styles, i.e., mid-mount, rear-mount with chain drive, and rear-mount with dual hub-motor drive. Christian’s friend and her husband do purchase the pre-release XP Trike, and have the company deliver it to Christian for set-up and evaluation.

UPDATE: I replaced the twist throttle with a thumb throttle on the unit, as my friend would sometimes initiate the brake lever and she’d still have some twist throttle engagement, which was obviously problematic for her. So, now, with the thumb throttle, the braking lever and thumb throttle are incompatible behaviors, which is much safer for her.
