      for me, a good thing to do in the air is pull up your stomach and put your weight in your other leg

      Don’t be scared! Make sure your tight and your bases will try their hardest to catch you if you fall! But you aren’t to far from the ground! :D

    Honestly thank u so much I’m trying to become a flyer and I tried flying at my last practice and my bases said I did really well and they want to make me a flyer so I’m going to practice a lot so when I show my coach I might be able to get it

    Thank you so much! I'm 5'4 and a backspot on a junior 2 team I've never flown before but my coach told me next season she wants me to be on a senior team so I can fly. I am very flexible, tight with my motions, very good facials, and I love to perform so that's why she wants me to fly but I am very nervous but I do want to fly so I will do this a lot to prepare for next season. Thank you!

    This was my first ever year of cheer *2017* I loved it!! I’ve never heard of cheer in my life until this year. I’m level about l2 and here are my flying skills
    -prep cradle ofc
    -tik Tok lib
    /heel stretch (only right cause hip injury :(
    - over (split?) bow and arrow
    -almost double down
    - soon kick full

    Omg!! So helpful and a great video!!❤️. When you said to squeeze your butt, it made me think of a great reference my team and I have. It is to "pinch a penny". That always helps me when I'm flying! Keep up the great work!!❤️

    I am a self taught gymnast who just started all star cheer this season. I started off as a base on level one, but now I have been moved up to level two and they want me to be a flyer bc I'm super flexible. I tried flying for the first time last week and it was SO HARD. But thanks to this video I realised all the little things I was doing wrong, and I can't wait to put the things I've learned into practice. I'm gonna be working on my body positions and balance at home now, too.

    This video is awesome! Thanks for the pointers. I guess they probably work easier for you, though, because you have shorter legs. I have a short torso, but long legs so I have problems with dancer pose :(

    great video Erica..will start this right away..but my left leg is not that flexible. I can do a side split but not a straddle. I also can't get my legs closer to my face while sitting. Also, please post some tutorial on how to improve the back bend while in split. Please help with these. Many thanks.

    This was very helpful to me because I just got asked to join a lvl 3 team and fly, as I am usually lvl 2 and base!! I am so excited, but also really nervous!! I can pull a very good heel stretcher but I need a lot of work on my needle, so what is a good way to practice scorpions and needles?

      +Cami Coookie I have tutorials on scorpion and needle, which will help tons! Focus on keeping your legs on a straight line - scales are good practice, too!

    Can you do tutorials on how to do specific flyer positions (heel stretch, scorpion, scale, etc.) ??? I know you've already explained some stretches in your videos, but could you make more like your "how to do a needle/straight leg scorpion video? Also, how heavy should the ankle weights be?     thank you I hope this helps me, Im having trouble balancing I feel its fear and Im not locking my knees. My coach want me to pull my body positions with the right leg but Im terrible i dont even have my splits in that leg ( I sound like a really bad flyer ) but Im reaaaaally tiny so I cant be a base :(

    Tbh, I've seen loads of comments asking what to do if you dont have ankle weights, my advice is use heavy shoes such as combat boots for example until you find what you're looking for. Just in case anyone really wanted to know :)
