    At 17:26 you said someone at the NSA could take down Iran at the click of a mouse. Well I'm here to correct you. What you described is "offensive cyber operations" which the NSA does not participate in. In order to wage war or conduct acts of war, the organization must be under U.S. Title 10 status which the NSA does not fall under. The NSA falls under Title 15 in this aspect which means something well different. The NSA does in fact, monitor the cyber realm and perform reconnaissance missions stateside and abroad but they do not take an offensive stance. So you might ask, who are the people that actually play cyber offense? That would be the U.S. Air Force my friend. The AFSC you're looking for is coded 1B4X1 and it is indeed the specific job you described. These are our Offensive Cyber Warriors which do exactly as their job description states. I've met some of them and even had the opportunity to briefly work with a team. They're very...how can I put this... A very unique group of individuals.

    Alan Touring wouldn't have done anything with the Enigma if it wasn't for Polish mathematicians, Jerzy Rozycki, Henryk Zygalski and Marian Rejewski. Between the wars England was using linguists to try to crack codes, hence why they were unsuccessful with the early Enigma codes. The Poles have cracked the early code and shared it with allies prior to WW2. Alan Touring met with them and he simply used their knowledge to develop the Bombe to crack the more complex codes during the war. It makes me sad that Touring is credited for everything. Zygalski even ended up working as a mathematician at the University of Surrey...

    • @gnarthdarkanen7464
      @gnarthdarkanen7464 Před 6 lety

      1. Automatic "soft" or back-up power supply... This is basically a combination, battery-box and power-converter with outlets enough to deal with the "critical systems"... So in the case of the "hacker" scenario, include the PC (obviously).
      2. Sat-Com Data uplink (or equivalent)... This is an antenna device (usually comes with an expensive subscription fee) to "speak" directly within the satellite network. It's built to support pretty much all available communication, coded instruction, and data transfer protocols and media... The highest end also work as "burst transmitters" though that technology isn't exactly as "sexy" as it used to be. At any rate, the point is to no longer require "wifi" to keep up the internet access.
      3. Backup generator system or alternative power supply... From the bare-bones variety of amateur windmill and an automotive generator or alternator series, to a full diesel generator with a remote or automatic start-up, this is exactly what it sounds like. If you're dependent on any sort of electrical start for the thing, or a relay to direct power from it to pursue computerized tom-foolery, you'll still need the back-up to maintain the PC as well as to initiate alternative sources of power. Solar is nice, as well, but depends on direct supplies of sunlight, so only particularly great during the day...
      NOW, there are countless other opportunities for powering and reaching the internet while "knocked off the grid", including just living independently from the "grid" in the first place. However, as hackers tend to prefer their anonymity, these sorts of approaches might be really ill advised, as they do tend to draw unwanted attention. BUT since you asked how to hack in the case that a nuke wipes out your local access to a power grid... this is at least a fairly direct means of doing so. You might think that you don't need a Sat-com uplink, but since the power grid that runs your house and PC also runs the local cell towers and other satellite access utilities, you probably will. Nukes tend to do a great deal of wide-spread destruction. Of course, this also depends on you and your home not being vaporized by said nuke in the first place. :o)

      I mean you could make a website with HTML, pretending to be some safe website which the user expects to see (like the facebook login screen), send a bunch of emails to boomers pretending to be from facebook with a link to "log in", and then instead of checking their usernames and passwords with the facebook database (like their actual login screen would probably do), it would instead send the username, email, and password to the creator of the software, and redirect the user to the address of actual facebook, which they would most likely have a cookie to log them in instantly.
      Then you could quite easily check who uses the same passwords on their emails, as their facebook profiles to access any other site they use the same email for, by requesting a password change. And if it's just their facebook, you could get lucky with a jackpot of finding some celebrity/politician accounts which you could sell to be abused by anyone who dislikes them.
      That's the first example of "hacking" you could do with HTML "code" (it's not really coding IMO) that comes to my mind.

      the celtic empire was the biggest and longest lasting. it covered most of europe, asia, africa and the americas in pre roman times and lasted 60'000 years.
      They did'nt do wars of conquest like other empires. tribes joined of their own free will and left when they wanted too.
      1 tribe called the Celtica started it all off. they lived on the banks of the Danube in Austria in whats now Vienna. They had 1 god Gia or mother earth. Democracy and a written languge which used the letters of the aphabet European languages still use to this day.
      Other tibes liked the way they lived so learnt their ways and became celts. Thats how they expanded. They shared technoligy amoungst each tribe and became the most advanced culture in the world. They were in the iron age when the Romans were still using bones as clubs.
      They had a standing army to deal with wars. If 2 non celt tribes were fighting a war the celts sent in their army and stood betwen them to stop them fighting and forced them into negotiations for piece.. Thye built a fort betwwen the waring tribes. Budapest being 1 example of a celtic fort built to stop a war.
      Celt armies wore chain mail armour for the lower ranks and full plate armour like medievil knights but long before the Romans arrived on the scene. 6 foot long iron swords and 8 foot long bows. Non celt tribes only had wooden swords or spears and leather armour and sling shots or Javelins.
      The celtic empire started to fall apart when members stopped believing in Gia and started worshipping false gods. once u stopped beilieving in Gia u ceased to be celt.
      Christians stole the celtic religion and used most of it as part of their religion but twisted things around to make it look like a new religion but they didnt take on Gia as their god they chose to use the sun as their god.

    By coincidence, I found this video tonight (3 Jan 2020), and it is painfully relevant right this moment! I sincerely hope that we have something newer and more powerful than Nitro whatever. Iran isn't nearly the most powerful military we've ever faced, but unlike Iraq, Iran is far more adept in asymmetric warfare.

    • @Veladus
      @Veladus Před 4 lety +1

      I'd be surprised if the Nitro Zeus thing was even legit to begin with. That description is reminiscent of the Reapers hitting Khar'Shan, and when your unseen program is giving the vibes of a galactic invasion fleet of billion year old Skynet-mechaCthulhus, I have to question its legitimacy.
      The biggest cyberwarfare threat is clearly Russia. That fucking Bond villain Putin isn't just fucking with elections (which is alarming enough), he's working to make things with everything from anti-vaxxer misinformation to misinformation about covid to get people killed.
