Right same here, but my plant is some days old. i just want to know how the roots spread, because of space I have mine little close to my compound wall. I planted it quite deep though and I hope it's roots will not destroy my wall.

@@lexisokere9752 I don’t think your soursop will be affected too much from being planted too close to any structure. The structure might be affected by the soursop because the plant’s roots will push and put pressure on any underground structure (especially plumbing) so think carefully before you plant any tree near your house.
I live in Caribbean and have a plant however the leaves keep getting dry brow spots on the leaves. Your tree is quite healthy and the leaves are perfect. What care do you use and what soil type please?
Hello from Hawaii! 🤙 I really dont give it anything! Since I planted it I’ve only given it water in the beginning to establish a decent root system. The tree has basically grown on its own for the past 2 years. The soil here where this tree is going is more clay than sand but it holds moisture well. Not too wet, not to dry. Our weather patterns I would think is similar for the most part so I don’t think the weather is a problem. Just make sure to feed your plants organic matter like mulch and compost and I believe you should be fine. My soursop is about 15-20 tall and produces a lot of fruit, but it keeps growing taller and the bottom branches are not growing, so the first 8 or 9 feet now is only trunk. Any ideas on how to make the tree fill out? Should I top it down to a height where there are no branches? I'm clueless and would love some tips. Thanks!
Sounds like you have a pretty tall tree! Im going to be topping my tree soon but my tree has lots of lower branches. Im sure that if you top it low the branches will eventually grow back but I dont know if you are willing to wait that long since youre tree is already providing fruit. Maybe top it low enough to where you atleast still have some mature branches as you wait for new branches to grow back. I will be topping my tree soon because it is getting too tall and I would rather have a bushy filled out tree.

@@underworldevents265 I've come to realize through my own experiences that trees are masters of survival. From what I've experienced, almost always but ofcourse with the very few exceptions, trees have a tendency of sending up an abundance of new growth when they are either pruned or topped. I am fairly certain that your tree will have lots of new growth and also remember that around springtime is when you'll see the most obvious signs. I will do a short video shortly to show exactly what I am talking about. 👍

@@lexisokere9752 Topping is cutting off the LEADING upward growing branch or main trunk so that the tree grows sideways more and not upward. Pruning is basically the same thing. My tree is doing just fine after topping it 👍 Dont worry too much about these plants. They have a way of surviving through almost anything even without our help.
I dont water them on a schedule. I watered them when the soil was dry for the first months after transplanting into the ground. After that, I didn’t have to water anymore.
I am not sure. Make sure the tree has plenty of nutrients (fertilizer), water, and sunlight. Give it some time and you may get lucky. I don't fertilize the tree I planted. I just let it grow and it fruits on its own. I use organic fertilizer on other plants sometimes. Only compost and mulch 👍

Many of us in US would like to grow this medicinal plant (I have 4 of my own) grown in container in South GA which is zone 9-A and it is thriving, however, when it was winter I brought it inside next to my window and it is doing fine. Now that it is getting on the 80-90 ° weather, I leave it outside and feed it regularly with fertilizer. Keeping fingers crossed 🤞 that my Puerto Rican seeds do well and give me fruit. 🙏🏻❤️. Soursop is both sweet and mildly sour. Some soursop fruits may taste sweeter when harvested at peak ripeness and others may taste sour if harvested sooner..it just depends on how ripe the fuit is. Im fairly certain there isn’t a sweet soursop and a sour one..it depends on the stage of the fruit’s development. There are other fruits within the annona family that are sweeter (like the sugar apple) 👍 hope this answers your question.

@@thesquad827 sorry I don't really know too much about growing fruiting trees indoors. I mostly plant outside and I try not to use any synthetic fertilizers other than what's already in the potting mixes I use. Miracle Gro and spagnum peat moss are some mixes that I use. Sorry I couldn't be of more help but I'm sure you'll find others who may have achieved what you are trying to achieve 👍

Why my soursop it’s like 3 years old but still so small tree! Lol I fertilize and take care of it and still small ! I don’t know what I do wrong.every winter the leaves become yellow and dropped
@@bisayadaku6065 make sure you have it planted in good soil and where it can get sunlight...try not to over fertilize cause that can cause the tree to stress out and drop leaves...allow the earth to do its magic and just make sure the plant gets proper watering...not too much, not too little 👍 hope this helps!
