This really is a tragedy for everyone. Mainly of course is the victim. As a retired board member of a church (not this church) , the board had to make hard decisions. You want to grant mercy , you of course must forgive the wrong doer, you want to give the person a second chance. If it turns out to be your Pastor, it’s even harder. No matter what you do, some people will agree and some won’t agree. It causes bitterness, division, and a falling away. In our situation, it was the Pastor. The congregation took a vote. He actually was voted out. A new Pastor was hired but it took a decade for the healing. Mainly because the “old guard” died and control went with them. The Pastor was released from this “old guard” control and finally was released from this control. Sound familiar. It’s happens more frequently than you think. The Church has its ups and downs and Jesus is in control. He allows things to happen as a way of cleansing His church. Pastor Morris through authentic repentance will be forgiven. However, at this moment he is getting a good spanking. Due to his serious crime, he should never be allowed as a Pastor again. Guess what: Don’t we all need a good spanking ? All have fallen short of Gods commandments. Don’t forget the plank in our own eyes, lest we forget. My two cents. P.S. Watch him now, write a book and make a movie to make millions. All proceeds should go to victims of this kind of crimes whether in the church or out of the church. Expect a decade to heal the wounds.My heart grieves for all the victims of this selfish crime.
The state should make a special law to go after these past religious crimes of sexual abuse and make it retroactive... Call it the Robert Morris Pedophile Crime law

This isn’t the right place for this but I don’t know another way so I’m hoping y’all can address this in an upcoming episode: What would you say to someone who uses the following verses to say not only that baptism is necessary/required for salvation but that the practice is salvific in and of itself? John 3:5, Mark 16:16, Matthew 28:19, Acts 2:38-41, Romans 6:3-7, 1 Peter 3:21. “These all point to baptism being a regenerative work of God for a person being ‘reborn from above.’”
