The information provided in this video is not meant to diagnose or treat any skincare conditions. I am NOT a professional, just a girl solving my skincare concerns naturally. This is my personal skincare regimen.
    Please Remember...
~Essential oils MUST be diluted in a carrier oil. NEVER use "neat" on the skin.
~These are highly concentrated plant oils and can cause HARM if not used properly.
~Some essential oils are NOT safe to use if you are pregnant. Consult your doctor first!
~Consult your doctor/dermatologist before starting an oil care regimen.
~Doing a PATCH TEST before using a new oil is recommended. ALLERGIC REACTIONS can occur. (i.e. I'm allergic to castor oil, it causes me to break out in poison oak like hives).
    Essential Oils and Skin Types:
I've listed several oils below, categorized by skin type/concern. As you can see, there are many to choose from but keep it simple, I typically use 1-3 essential oils blended in a carrier oil. I recommend visiting your local health food store and exploring the oils in person. Many share similar properties but they each have their own unique scent, find a scent you will enjoy using.

Yes, using natural oils is the way to go!!! My skin used to be a mess. Between the super dry areas and the super oily areas I didn't know which to address. I used to go for facials on a quarterly basis and now I haven't needed a facial in over two years. I started to make my own soap and I use that to wash my face because its very gentle. The oil cleansing method didn't work for me. However, I use a combo of jojoba & rice bran oil (rice bran because of its natural UV protection) and mix it with lavender and chamomile essential oils. I use that morning and night as a moisturizer. My skin has never felt or looked better. Thanks for the tutorial and getting the word out!

Christine, I can't thank you enough! I'm 50 years old and I too have spent a ton of money on my skin. If you could recommend a natural skincare regime for mature skin I would be so grateful. I really want to love and take care of my skin naturally. I love your videos! Keep up the good work! Take care and God bless. Tina

So glad you liked it! I've tested kukui oil mostly on my body and I must say it's a freaking fantastic oil for getting and maintaining gorgeous skin. It has a lightweight texture but it's rich, nourishing and seems to leave a protective barrier on the skin. xoxo

    Hey there,
I know you probably won't read this but I need to thank you for how much your skincare journey has helped me. I have been blessed with flawless skin up until 6 months ago when my forehead started breaking out under the skin with no redness.I spend hundreds of dollars on expensive skin care only to see my skin get worse. I have been at my wits end unable to work out why. I have just been diagnosed with coeliac disease, and with the help of your recipes my skin is on the mend!

I know the feeling well. The best way to start, is to take baby steps, change only one item in your skincare regimen at a time. I started by incorporating an acne/scar fighting oil blend, (rosehip seed, tea tree, lavender). After testing it for several weeks and being thrilled with the results, I was okay to move forward and take another little step. Also be sure to ask your dermatologist about incorporating a natural oil. They may or may not want to help but it never hurts to ask. :)

I went out to a Whole Foods store near me and picked up Rosehip oil, Lavender, Tea Trea oil, and Grapeseed oil. I've mixed them all together like you've said and I have been using it as a moisturizer on my skin also! I can't believe I'd ever do something like this, just as you said, but so far I am happy with how my skin is feeling and I am glad you shared this with us because I would have never known any of this and its simple benefits without you!

I have been concerned about all the accumulation of chemicals I was putting on my skin and body for a long time (as well as in cosmetics)...women are particularly vulnerable and people forget skin absorbs everything!! i never used to wash my makeup off (and i wear a lot of makeup most days!) until i switched to an all natural skin care routine and now i am OBSESSED with washing my face lol, i am up to 15 different carrier oils now that i use on my skin i just LOVE buying new ones it is my addiction! lol.. I remove makeup with oil,i exfoiliate once a week with himalayan pink salt, tone with bragg apple cider vinegar, moisturize with one of my many carrier oils, and than as a makeup primer i use pure aloe vera gel straight from the plant, right over my oil, and than to set all my makeup i use a rosewater or rose hydrosol (which is basically the same thing) and i LOVE it , now i just need to switch over to a natural makeup line but that is going to take some time!

    @christinekobzeff  Před 11 lety

Oh yes great question! There are many essential oils and carrier oils that fade age spots and sun spots. Rosehip seed oil is touted as one of the best. I did try castor oil earlier in the year but unfortunately I'm allergic to it, it makes me get a poison oak type reaction. Weird I know lol. But I've heard a lot of people like it for oil cleansing and eyelash growth. xoxo

    @christinekobzeff  Před 11 lety

I picked up a few from my local health food store, they're very inexpensive, only $1-2 each. But I also recycle oil bottles that I finish. For example, the small pump bottle that now has my P.M. oil cleanser, was an Aura Cacia rosehip seed oil bottle.

I find that the oils I buy last so long and they are very high quality as I buy from Mountain Rose Herbs. And a lot of the essential oils have many uses. I absolutely love natural skincare. I think it works much better than any usual creams. I have dry, sensitive skin and since i began to use oils my skin has become normal. I absolutely love peach kernel oil that is also great for eye area ( it is not heavy for this area), it moisturizes and firm your skin, purifies pores, and makes your skin beautiful day by day. Clean your skin and then apply some oil for a night. And I also like grape seed oil. Both oils can be used as make up remover.

That's certainly possible, oils are best used in the tiniest amounts. The type of oil you use can also make a huge difference. For example, I tried castor oil earlier this year and broke out in poison oak like hives. Not fun lol. A lot of people love castor oil but it's just not meant for my skin. I almost gave up on natural skincare, thankfully I kept searching and was rewarded with a ton of other amazing oils that my skin loves.

Love your videos! Another tip for those with dry skin (like me) is to make a glycerine spray, I use a 1 part vegetable glycerine to 3 parts distilled water but you may need to play with the ratio for your skin. I find that when I spray that on my face first and then add my oils they penetrate much better and seem more effective.

Or you can just put the hard coconut oil on your fingers and it instantly liquifies. I use coconut oil to remove my makeup and I live in a place where the oil is only liquid during the summer. So all other times of the year, I sit my oil in some warm water to liquify it and pour it into a smaller container (travel shampoo bottle) and just squirt it out as necessary and wipe away the oil with a damp cotton pad.
    Hope this helps!

I have dry skin and also use the oil cleansing method. I use coconut oil combined with vitamin E oil, and for toner I use a combo of witch hazel and rose water. Then to moisturize I switch around between a combination of different oils such as jojoba oil, argan oil, rose hip oil and coconut oil. My skin seems to respond well to this routine. Once a week I'll add some sugar to an oil for an exfoliating scrub.

You must test the essential oils first to check there are no reactions and carfefully choose those for your skin. I recommend you do extensive reading upfront to better understand how this works. But then...enjoy and watch your skin just improve in short period of time!!

Rosehip oil on active acne breakouts is controversial. Rosehip oil never irritated my acne at all. But I personally recommend it more for the treatment of post acne scarring, anti-aging, softening fine lines/wrinkles,etc... as it stimulates skin cell regeneration. But there are better oils to use in the treatment of active acne.

I suggest lavender oil. It was the first oil I used. I would just put in on at night before I slept & within a week, my face was completely clear, when previously it had had a few pimples & an extreme amount of redness & scarring. I still have the scars, but lavender oil took care of the rest. There was an initial purging process, but they were just tiny whiteheads that would go away within a day. I also like to use grapefruit oil in the mornings to combat oiliness in my skin. Good luck!

It's all in researching and cross referencing though books and the internet. Each oil has different properties (i.e. anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, anti-fungal, etc...) and once you learn the properties, you have a good idea of how it could remedy certain skin conditions. I could go on, but not enough space here lol. I'll be posting more videos and on my blog regularly about oils and many other natural skincare treatments.

I've read about using coconut oil for deodorant and even mixing in an essential oil, such as tea tree to kill bacteria but I've also read coconut oil can leave stains on your tops. I haven't tried it, so I'm not sure if it's true. But I can certainly see how using oils under your arms could transfer to clothing. Any transfer would be a bad thing, because you'd be left with the appearance of sweat spots on your top all day, just the thing we want to avoid lol. I may do an underarm care video! :)

So happy that you found the right products for your skin and that this is far less expensive! I was just wondering why you use cotton pads, personally I find them a little irritating for the skin so I just pour my serum or toner directly in the palm of my hands, rub them a few seconds to warm the product, then gently apply on my face ans massage. This is less agressive, less expensive, and more "green". So the only tool I really use is a towel to pat my face dry after rinsing my cleansing oil ;)

Part(3) she told me to use my fingers, and if what I applied did not sink in after 5 min use a clean kabuki very soft one and buff it in. I bought makeup and she pointed out at Fridays visit you go natural body and face and then put the makeup even though it says " natural' on. She saw your declutter videos and loved them she said your research on oils great, but sometime you can research to much and harm skin in long run.

Oh, thank you so much for including the emu-removing via coconut oil, it really works the same way as common removers. Mine coconut oil is solid, now wonder here in Germany. I think half a teaspoon up to a hole teaspoon will last.

Thanks so much for this video! I've been looking into natural skincare for a couple of years now, and have been oil cleansing for about a year. I've got super sensitive skin like, even products labeled for sensitive skin irritated my skin. So I'm finding the natural stuff is best.

Yay! Just placed my first oil order on Vitacost ! I've been struggling with my skin since I had my daughter 3 years ago. I never had acne/milias until that happen and I've been on differin for months without any changes so I hope this works! I placed a big order but to be honest, with the amount of products Im getting it's NOTHING compared to high end and drugstore skin care products. If it ends up not working, oh well, I can always use those oils and essential oils for other things :)

Try to use peach kernel oil or grape seed oil, they are absolutely fine for dry or sensitive skin, and aging skin. Just clean your face and apply one of upmentioned oils on to your face as a night cream. Better use for some time period, at least about month to see the result. Those oils really make our skin beautiful.

Sure I can explain further. But first, are you familiar with either essential oils or carrier oils? If not, I definitely recommend getting to know more about them before usage. Essential oils are volatile and extremely potent plant oils that are too strong to use directly on the skin alone, otherwise known as "neat." They must be diluted or blended with a carrier oil (i.e. jojoba, grapeseed, avocado, tamanu, rosehip seed, etc...) which are gentle and not volatile. More info on my blog. :)

I find anything with apple cider vinegar put on my face makes it red and leaves it red for the rest of the day, and I don't even have sensitive skin. Just something people might want to keep in mind, when you try a bunch of new things it is sometimes hard to know what might be leaving the skin red for the rest of the day for example. enjoyed your video!

Oils vary in price, Some I purchase at my local health food store but I prefer buying from Vitacost online, their prices are so much better.
