    Hi Anna! I have a small question about the SAT social sciences/US history passages. I'm an international student and most of the time it's hard for me to understand the concepts and words in those passages because I'm very unfamiliar with them. I also spend comparatively more time doing those passages so its hard for me to manage my time properly. Is there any way for me to improve?

    • @annas-universe
      @annas-universe  Před 2 lety +1

      Ah those passages are tricky, and I bet that being an international student makes them even harder! It may help you to read older essays/books outside of the SAT--we read a lot of good ones in my AP Lang class (by Du Bois, Emerson, Thoreau, etc) that really helped me process the style of SAT history passages. For the social science ones, reading more current news articles (specifically about economics/business or psychology) can probably help. And, whenever you get to a vocab word or idiom that you don't know, be sure to look it up so you can remember it for next time! Hope this helps, and good luck!

    hi anna! for question 42 could u explain why it couldn’t be D if the diverse ways could be launching prospecting telescopes, harvesting metals from asteroids, and offering trips to the moon to lunar miners?

    • @annas-universe
      @annas-universe  Před 2 lety

      Hi! Sorry this is ultra-late lol, but for it to be D it would have to be the diverse ways of *space mining*. Launching a telescope and capitalizing on moon tourism aren't ways the companies would be able to space mine directly (although both those things could potentially help with space mining operations...which is what makes this question tricky).

    Hey Anna! This series has been super helpful for me in preparation for the psat/nmsqt, but should I change the approach that you have been following as this test is digital rather than physical? It’ll be hard to do things like make annotations for the daily double since you can’t really mark up the text on the digital version, so any advice on that?

    • @annas-universe
      @annas-universe  Před 2 lety +2

      Hi! I think on the digital version you should still be able to annotate the passage (if you can’t, then oof that sucks) but if it’s too difficult to do that with a mouse/trackpad or if you can’t, then I’d just skip that step and just use a piece of paper to keep track of any little notes I have along the way

    Any tips for time management in the reading passages part?

    • @annas-universe
      @annas-universe  Před 2 lety

      Mostly just time yourself while taking practice tests (or maybe individual passages) and figure out where you're losing the most time. If it's reading the passage, try reading more in your day-to-day life to get more confident with your reading speed...if it's the questions make sure you know what each one is asking and where in the passage you can get the info you need (both kind of go in tandem)

      @@annas-universe It's gone now😔
      Just 10 days before the SAT, I found out that I was a slow reader because of:
      1. Subvocalization (The inner Monologue)
      2. Regression (re-reading).
      But it was too late to amend.

    Hi Anna! I am an international student, should I read US founding documents and English literature or just keep up with khan academy practice tests?

    • @annas-universe
      @annas-universe  Před 2 lety +1

      Both could be really helpful! I would focus mainly on Khan Academy since that will have history passages built into it and give you SAT-style questions, but reading older works in addition could help you with your reading comprehension if you're struggling with that :)
