“Aslan is a lion- the Lion, the great Lion." "Ooh" said Susan. "I'd thought he was a man. Is he-quite safe? I shall feel rather nervous about meeting a lion"..."Safe?" said Mr Beaver ..."Who said anything about safe? 'Course he isn't safe. But he's good. He's the King, I tell you.”
    - The Lion the Witch and The Wardrobe (C.S. Lewis)
Not Safe is abrasive rock and roll with the heart of the Lord all over it. Ripping guitar, poetic lyrics & an outro that feels like you're in fight scene of your favorite movie
    Lyrics:
"Seated in the heavenlies, in the holy, holy, worthy, worthies
Feasting on the air you breathe; floating on an eagles wings
    Im ruined for eternal things
So beautiful and terrifying; glorious and petrifying
He’s a good God, but good god, he is not safe
He’s a good good God, but good god, he is not safe
You’re a good God, but good god, you are not safe
You’re a good good God, but good god, you are not safe
Im saying controversial things, just to watch you move me.
When you said that you had died with me, did you mean those words honestly?
    Seated in the heavenlies
Captive to the song you sing; created by the breath you breathe
He’s a good God, but good god, he is not safe
He’s a good good God, but good god, he is not safe
You’re a good God, but good god, you are not safe
You’re a good good God, but good god, you are not safe
Down here as in the heavenlies, the king shall be our remedy.
He’s good, He’s wild, he’s anything but tame
Down here as in the heavenlies, the king shall write my melody
He’s good, He’s wild, he’s anything but tame
Down here as in the heavenlies, the king shall write my melody
He’s good, He’s wild, he’s anything but tame
He’s a good God, but good god, he is not safe
He’s a good good God, but good god, he is not safe
You’re a good God, but good god, you are not safe
You’re a good good God, but good god, you are not safe"

Absolutely genuis, matching the ways of Our Lord Jesus. I have never heard a praise song slowly progress so the timing represents the title theme.Well Done my dear Brothers! The KING has certainly written this melody. He healed me of a 19 year heroin addiction, on 7/7/16, I received the baptism of the Holy Spirit and this healing by the laying on of hands in the streets of SE DC while buying heroin. That was 58 months ago. Even So Come, LORD JESUS.

Christian life is an adventure. Its not safe for our empty convictions. Its an adventure that requires Renounce.
This is one of my favorite songs on this ep. Gable Price and Friends, you guys have been used for God to proclamin His Kingdom. Remember that always!

Is this inspired by Lewis? "“Who is Aslan?” asked Susan. “Aslan?” said Mr. Beaver. “Why, don’t you know? He’s the King. He’s the Lord of the whole wood, but not often here, you understand. Never in my time or my father’s time. But the word has reached us that he has come back. He is in Narnia at this moment. He’ll settle the White Queen all right. It is he, not you, that will save Mr. Tumnus.” “She won’t turn him into stone too?” said Edmund. “Lord love you, Son of Adam, what a simple thing to say!” answered Mr. Beaver with a great laugh. “Turn him into stone? If she can stand on her two feet and look him in the face it’ll be the most she can do and more than I expect of her. No, no. He’ll put all to rights as it says in an old rhyme in these parts: Wrong will be right, when Aslan comes in sight, At the sound of his roar, sorrows will be no more, When he bares his teeth, winter meets its death, And when he shakes his mane, we shall have spring again. You’ll understand when you see him.” “But shall we see him?” asked Susan. “Why, Daughter of Eve, that’s what I brought you here for. I’m to lead you where you shall meet him,” said Mr. Beaver. “Is-is he a man?” asked Lucy. “Aslan a man!” said Mr. Beaver sternly. “Certainly not. I tell you he is the King of the wood and the son of the great Emperor-beyond-the-Sea. Don’t you know who is the King of Beasts? Aslan is a lion-the Lion, the great Lion.” “Ooh!” said Susan, “I’d thought he was a man. Is he-quite safe? I shall feel rather nervous about meeting a lion.” “That you will, dearie, and no mistake,” said Mrs. Beaver; “if there’s anyone who can appear before Aslan without their knees knocking, they’re either braver than most or else just silly.” “Then he isn’t safe?” said Lucy. “Safe?” said Mr. Beaver; “don’t you hear what Mrs. Beaver tells you? Who said anything about safe? ‘Course he isn’t safe. But he’s good. He’s the King, I tell you.” “I’m longing to see him,” said Peter, “even if I do feel frightened when it comes to the point.”" Was reading The Lion Witch And Wardrobe last night and when I read that, I immediately thought of this song.

It’s a beautiful passage and summarizes the Astro-theology at the root of all religions. Aslan the lion represents the summer, life, and ultimately the sun. The White Witch is winter, death, and the moon.

Hey I love your guys songs and sound! I do have a question with this song! Could you guys post a commentary on what this song means. I want to interpret this as you guys are talking about how man needs to have fear the Lord and cease from sinning. But I will be honest and say that these lyrics make no sense to present that point effectively.

    • @GablePriceandFriends

Hey Josh! The idea of Not Safe is inspired by C.S Lewis’ The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. He's the King, I tell you.” Our God is indeed our refuge and safe place, but by no means is life with Him “safe”. He brings us out of our comfort zones and draws us into the unknown. Following Jesus is certainly uncomfortable by our western standards. We don’t claim to be the final word on theology, but that’s what the song means for us. The beauty about music and art is that its open to interpretation. Hope this helps!

I love this song and the meaning behind it but I don’t know how comfortable I am with the line in the chorus where it takes the Lord’s name in vain. • @BornAgain907
      @BornAgain907 Před rokem

It does say “You’re a good God, but *good god* you are not safe…” which doesn’t address God, and because the lyric isn’t capital G and sounds a lot like taking His name in vain, I feel like we can assume that’s the intent.
