First time racing Mega... It was awesome!! Subscribe if you like bike videos and stuff.

Bike was Transition Sentinel with a Rock Shox Lyrik 170 fork and all SRAM parts. - Sport
14th on your first try? That's awesome!!!
Thanks! Only got one practice run.
That's even more impressive!
Given, you started in the first row, maybe you would have won.
@@martinmaier352 David was losing to the winner on every part of the route. Time gab was about a minute by the glacier exit and about 4 minutes by the end of the track. True, Damien had little disturbance from other riders but i think his experience of the track matters much more.
If you hadn't slid down the first slope. Avoided the fallen riders really well.
Loving the joyful noises in the first bit... clearly it's as fun as it looks!
I was looking for an electric bike for my kid and got this.
I must say that was impressive.
That chap in black was your nemesis, you clearly had more power but he got you on the technical parts.
Congratulations!
-
Now I need to find that bike for my kid.
he competed with two different men in the end
I was cheering for you! I loved how excited you were. The sections in the snow were amazing.
This year was my first (and probably last) attempt at the Mega- aged 63. I just wanted to make it through to one of the infinity races but after a brutal qualifying race on the Friday I had to withdraw from the main event. Great ride and great video!
63? so it's not too late for me to have a go at 52 then.
Steve Maggers Definitely not.. I didn’t start riding until I was 52 so you have plenty of time 👍
@@Hayes1955SPLaTFiLMS do they have an over 50 class?
Robert Hess Yes Robert. Grand Veterans.
Respect man.
You did really good and you weren't being an ass to anyone. Nice work
Thanks- that was the goal. Haha
Awesome ride, I was cheering for you all the way! Really intense, great result!
I love how happy you sound throughout you’re ride!
Very impressive run , and finally someone from the US, in top 20 finish.
Thanks- there was one other US rider- Matt Koen- he finished 13th, about 5 sec ahead of me.
CONGRATS, Go USA!!!!!!!@@dcamp29
Love that "hey baby" at 24:13 hahaha
Legend
17:58 Thank you! Great ride by the way, awesome passing!
You've been amazing on the snow!
Great spirit, great passing, great ride!
Thanks!!!
Great run man, your line choices were great especially on the top sections. Just with one practice run. Impressive!
Really impressive fitness, pounding past some other very skilled and fit riders, a great watch! dream ride!
1:53 “ Look out......coming in hot”
Берегись.....спорт опасен.
Looks like such a good time. Congrats on your 14th place finish!
If I walked this trail I would trip multiple times. It amazes me that people can effortlessly bike this.
"effortlessly"
...and your first mega, you're amazing bro
Literally this video is good for headache.
Love the self-talk!
You are very good...great to watch💙
Keep it tight Dave. Keep it together. Awesome!
Nice positivity man!
After watching the video from the winner, I came here to see the race actually had some other bikes. That guy just crushed it.
Great. I love yours comments at the beginning, and your reaction to 666 sound ^^^^
super clean rider !! awesome work !!
What a total rush that would be. Congrats....on the 14th overall. Thats pretty awesome
I was scared just watching. You are a legend.
Loved it. Hilariously funny at the beginning.
Awesome video my dude.
Wry cool
I love how you motivate yourself while riding and you can tell how competitive you are when passed by other riders.
Future videos.
Any chance you can edit. Like maybe put on the screen what place you are in when passing someone just for the viewers.
Also maybe a top speed on screen.
Again just see we can get a feel how fast you are going and what place you are in.
Thanks for the upload my dude. 👍🏼
Awesome job
Impressive skills mate 14th 🐆 also a fine way to take in the beautiful views 👌👍
I had a blast listening to you have a blast

Realmente incrível. Quem me dera pedalar num lugar assim. Show de mais. 😁😁😁
Awesome Awesome Awesome video man!!!! loved it!
utterly fantastic! Well done indeed!
Dude, you've got heart. Well done.
Fascinating how much power you were able to get out of your body. You can clearly hear how you were driving on your limit most of the time.
I'm exhausted just watching this...
You did great man!!!!
1:51 *DEJA VU...*
really awesome, but my mom was thinking i watch porn coz of the sound !
i see what you did there
🤣🤣🤣
Lol.......that's funny as hell.......my parents where still wondering why I wasn't wearing any pants.......
HUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!
😂 I understand your mom! This is better then porno, I often sream as well. Oh, No, Look out, Poeffff, I got the feeling I am on the bike. And when they go into the wood, along those trees...I love your reaction on this vlog...🤣
excelente corrida, as melhor de todas que ja assisti da Megavalanche. Parrabéns.
MEGA NICE AMAZING RACE.UNBELIEVABLE .
I've been watching a lot of these videos this week and I like this one best. I like that you actually speak and breathe. These other people are so silent in their videos it's weird, like bike riding zombies. I hope you've upgraded to a cam with better stability functions since this race though :)
Greetings from Maui. , Amazing vid Bro
Really great ride. Nice. Holy Fuck! Exactly.
Great ride! Great luck with the early passing
Thanks- passing early was key. I tried to follow faster people for the good lines.
All I can say is WOW! All the panting proves that DH is harder than UH when ur going for it! Very impressive and one of my favourite videos of 2018 :-)
This is a good video I agree. Have you watched the winner's upload? Thats astonishing.
@@epincion I watched that one before this :-)

Now that's what I call a good sportsmanship
great ride! Im willing to join this next year.
Be nice brotha
love the narration
Goodman! Good work!
Great post, would love to see some telemetry from your run, you were flying in some areas and were riding a very smart race. Awesome!
Thanks! There's a link to my strava file in the description.
great ride!!!
Amazing! great ride!
This looks like so much fun
Great run, congrats :)
Thx for cleaning the cam while driving
Bad boy!!!! Terrific!!! Number one!!!!!! I guess you love mosquitos!!!
Very well deserved placement my man! Sucks you didn't start a bit farther ahead than you did thought... All that passing wasn't good for your placing but meh, you crushed it anyway!
Also.. HEY BABE!
Nice trail, awesome mountains
Super run !
Very good line choice!!!!
Looks tiring and dangerous..but really fun. At the start its absolute chaos..awesome
Adrenalina pura güero. 🇲🇽✌🏿
Súper espectacular tengo que hacer esta carrera que maravilla..
This was Kool!!
Exellent!
Thank You ! !
The speed on the 31:00 overtake is mind numbing
Great ride bro. Hope to see an Argenitnian here some day
bravo pour le courage!
I have watched far too many of these already and I can tell you that a lot of these guys need to learn a bit about slipstream distances. Watch some road race examples. At 21:20 ish you see this guy using it and then get overtaken by a guy who was doing it better. You want to be half a bikes length from the guy in front of you and if they are doing it to the guy in front of them and the guy in front of them is doing it too you won't even need to peddle on the flats - so you'll save yourself for the hills and blast past everyone.
Great job. I probably couldn't do what you guys do, even with the theory behind me. Keep it up!
This is probably his best day omg!
Well done Snow Rider...!
Caralho muleque!!!! Muito show 👏👏👏👏👏
1:51 "Gotta go Faaaa-oOOOW SHIII-"
Simplemente genial!!!!
ALARMAAAA, SO MUCH SPEEEED !
Nice.. u did fabulous .. yr start just made u stuck behind a little bid
Anyone else thinking that the end of the route seems quite anticlimatic for such a race? I mean, the home straight is a boring thin track in the shadow sqeezed between a metal fence and some warehouse, and then the finish line is around the corner in some parking lot. Given the epicness of the start, shouldnt there be something a bit grander at the end?
And now that you mention that, yes. The finish line is boring. Plus there was nobody there to cheer on the finishers. Consider that there is a helicopter and music at the start. Very little fan fare at the end.
I think it's all based on logistics- it ends in a nice park (er in the park's parking lot) in the center of a small town. There is a bus stop 2 blocks away to pick you up and shuttle riders back up to the ski village. Also- they maximize the descending- you are literally at the bottom of a massive valley so the route stops there.
@@dcamp29 - Did you hurt your hand when you hit that tree on the switch back about 2/3 of the way down? You said something about not being able to pull your brakes.
@@td_kdname5197 I was having bad arm-pump (grip strength was running out) and couldn't pull the brakes hard enough to make the turn- so I hit the tree. Luckily it didn't hurt my hand or shoulder too bad.
@@Error-hc7mp I appreciate this was probably a joke, but as it happens, studded tyres are forbidden !
1:51 Drifting like a boss.
I remember seeing that while riding and thinking 'should I be going faster?'. The answer was no haha
Ya the guy at major shit xD
Imagine if he saved that.. like.. wtf :D
Crashing like a boss.
a boss 'til he crashed
top lad ..well deserved
Nice Race!
beautiful
I thought I was bad ass commuting two miles to get my groceries
Grand effort. Top ten or higher next year.
Fantastic
Well done
Nice run
One fomdamental thing in racing: the Caboose is NEVER gonna find it's way to the engines, if it stays on the same tracks... Linesss guys!!!
well ridden!!
A clear image of a racer that pushes his limits.
.
Possibly a bit too hard, too early.
But he does keep on pushing despite the pain.
Nice videooo😀
good run
wow Respekt!
