Hi Caroline, Steve, :D now that we're halfway through the track with you (26:07) we like to say thank you so much for all the effort you put into the videos. Even though Steve was sick - hero! Thank you for not only covering the route but also so many interesting details about the huts, places and sights. My wife and I are on a virtual trip through Australia and thanks to you it is as if we were really on the Bibb. I would be happy if I had such locations for my videos ;D. Now we look forward to the next half with you, which we will watch over the next few days in Covid Germany. : D
Thank you for this excellent series. I came off trail at Donnelly River Village doing a NOBO with an infection and seeing that area again is bringing back some great memories. Heading back next month to try again.
@@GreatWalksoftheWorld it went really well. 38 nights including a short day from Nullaki to my ride to Denmark and a zero day in Collie. My version of CZcams videos is in a playlist at czcams.com/play/PL8v44fqdAipfXukUqceGfSC_GzIUcp22s.html (nothing like yours, mostly slideshows) . I'm looking at going back in late August for a North to South to see it in wildflower season. Not decided yet but it's very tempting. My next much shorter walk is an out and back on the Cooloola Great Walk. A local favourite.
I'm missing the track so much! I guess that's why I'm back on here rewatching your amazing videos. I completed it last year. Started in August. 37 days away, 5 nights off the track, so 32 days of hiking. So many ups and downs, an injury, blistered feet, but the most incredible memories. I miss the bush and I miss carrying everything I need on my back. I'm thinking Cape to Cape next, but I'm so keen to find some other long hikes in Australia. If anybody has any suggestions i'd really appreciate it! I will definitely head back on the track in September for a week or two. 😊
32:00 having to amp yourself up to pulling the plug on the pillow and mat, and the sad reality of it deflating under you as you try to reconcile the walk ahead!
Can really notice how your fitness has improved over the first 500km.
