- Hi! Welcome to Ben's Boats!
In this video, we take a look at this 1990 Cobalt 202 with a LOCKED UP engine to see if we can make it run and take it home. Starting to think I have a soft spot for old Cobalts...... (Softer than the floor in this boat lol)
Is this thing worth saving or is it junk?? Traveling two hours south for a Facebook Marketplace meetup leads to an interesting story; so come along and enjoy the journey.... stick around for part two on this boat! Its sure to be a good one. Thanks for watching!
Thinking of naming this thing the "BlueBalt" to distinguish it from the other Cobalt I own. What do you think? Let me know other potential names below!
Nice project boat! It's always fun to see "will it crank?" kind of videos
Man why don't this channel have alot more subs then it does. This guy is good at what he does. Can't wait for future posts. Much love from Maryland❤❤❤
Appreciate it! Share it if you enjoy ;)
Love the channel and how you explain everything this channel should have way more subs
Thanks for stopping by!
If the block has JB in it, really doesn’t matter if the engine spins. Good content, enjoying it 👍🏼
Pull the sparkles ✨ first young man.
Nice content, love seeing old abandoned stuff brought back to life.
Great video, really enjoyed that. Keep up the good work. Subscribed
Thanks!
I am excited for part 2. I love those old Cobalts.
Stay tuned! more to come; they're good boats that's for sure
Pull them plugs first on the next one you do, lube the cylinders. bumping the key like that, plugs in and being stuck. good way to Break the block where starter goes. Good video though
Thanks for the tip!
Great Job. Awesome video
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed
Great video, i bought a 1988 cobalt condurre 200 last year ...awsome boat. Finished renovation last month. Greetings from Belgium
Thanks! any of the condurre line are great boats
Excellent mechanic when he knows what the smell of 10w30 is
This is Awesome !
Thanks!
Has potential
I recommend buying the key way to bolt up to the crank pulley. Very easy to break those bolts off and be screwed.
Good recommendation, thanks!
@@bensboats yessir I’m not an old head either I’m 21 and leaning from experience.😂 let me just say I wasn’t the lucky one.
Ben, Im assuming you know that you roasted your pump impellrd with all that running of the engine with no water supply. Regardless, looks like youve got a real diamond in the rough there. A real crime that it was left out in the weather.
Oh yeah that impeller was cooked long ago. part two in the works now where we swap it out for a new one!
