It really sounds a lot of these mixed reviews are looking for a different game. Octopath traveler has always been transparent on what it is. I'm not sure what people are actually looking for, especially since you don't need all the characters to complete an individual story
Very true or then could just be hating.
As someone who put 200+ hours into Octopath Traveler and enjoyed it, the post-game storyline that connects all the characters was extremely poorly done IMO.
Most players won't know the post-game exists unless they do research online.
Before committing to a $60 purchase, I'd like to know if there's at least improvement in that area. I don't think wanting a cohesive story/satisfying payoff makes me a "hater".
what they are looking for is bravely default yet they dont care about that game apart from the visuals and stuff i mean in terms of story and characters, world
@@logicwins3492 I have a problem that people praise Soulsborne genre of obtuse storytelling but when a jrpg does it then they hate. I had to go online as well but it’s still not as bad as Elden Ring…not even close. I loved that aspect where you knew there was something more even if you couldn’t connect the dots initially.
@@logicwins3492 especially given the combat is great, the world is cool and my GOD the music is unfuckin g believably good
I played through the demo and really enjoyed it. I liked the increased voice acting , auto play for cut scenes and seemed enjoyable.
The game is amazing
I already pre-ordered Octopath II and can't wait for it! With the death of turn-based Final Fantasy, team Asano's games are by far my favorites from Square-Enix.
How is it on switch? I heard performance suffers
@@FoodLiquorCool uhhh I haven't noticed anything strange. it's also not exactly a game that needs high performance lol. The game is fun and a great improvement over its first game!
If they go much further in "combining" the stories it loses the octopath angle.
You said it with how they established what octopath traveler is. It's primarily based off LiveALive, so I imagine team asano wants to maintain that premise of the travelers being from separate worlds and coming together for their own reasons. The crossed paths will hopefully be multiple segments like a set of quest chains, but I'm curious if they will amount to more. The first game had a lot of separate dungeons that led to superbosses, which do come back in some form, but it would be nice to connect them to a quest to give a bit more background to them.
Maybe the story style but the combat is straight from the bravely default series
It's Live A Live better tho? Just got Octopath 2, seems dope as heck so far. At least fun mechanics for classic JRPG formula, I like that it's essentially a collection of short stories that link up eventually someone was saying that's what they hate about it which lost me like isn't that the selling point?
Idk if I made a mistake in not getting Live A Live or Bravely Default 2, tho. These 3 seem nigh interchangeable?
@@1234fakerstreet It’s a derivative of bravely yes, but imo it’s better cause there’s less stat inflation and more reliance on weakness coverage to deal max damage. Bravely Default would probably be better balanced with a unique buff/debuff system since late game enemies tend to just have inflated stats (bdii superbosses are very gimmicky and have massive incentive for beating, while the ones from the first two games were much more optional iirc)
@@RyanDMoore They aren’t the same. LiveALive is much more notably retro, but the story is segmented between each character and they come together at the end. Not to say it isn’t worth it to play LiveALive if you love retro games, but Octopath 2 is much more modern jrpg by a long shot. Bravely Default II has its own issues in some ways, but it was still a fun experience to me.
What’s crazy is that I didn’t enjoy Bravely Default 2 even remotely as much as I did Octopath
Same. Octopath combat is so much better than most turn based JRPGs.
I never finished BD2, it just did not click with me. I finished OT1 twice and played it for +120hs
@@Maderr4 same. Lol my first play through was with Therion and my second was Oberic. I didn’t beat Galdera until my second play through where I knew better builds and skill use. I got about 10 hours into BD2 and just wasn’t enjoying myself.
I don’t complete games often, if at all, but I 99% Octopath traveler, every story done, every side quest finished, all hidden items found, I just didn’t complete the boss runs at the very very end but my goodness…Octopath Traveler was one of my favorite games of the past decade. The stories, the gameplay, the graphics and my GOSH the music!!! It’s a top tier title.
yes , about the same . the last boss i cant finish it :D i still keeping my save game.
That boss is a game in itself, they went overboard with it
My main problem with the original is that it started to feel a bit robotic and sterile in the storytelling after a while. You always had to walk to a point and then "press to activate story segment". The story never came to *you* so to speak, no unexpected encounters in the wild etc. Got very predictable.
And the maps became a slog with linear paths and "random" (read: guaranteed and evenly paced) encounters. The boss encounters were fun, but you had to grind a lot of boring ones to reach the required levels.
Ill give this game a chance, since they have atleast improved some issues, and it still looks and sounds great. And the writing still seems mature compared with other jrpgs.
I agree, I bought the first one and it felt systematic and predictable except during the story moments. World didn't feel novel and dynamic. There wasn't enough nuance and depth for me to finish it or keep it so I sold it.
they did NOT fix anything. The music is better... Thats it. The Merchant story was so juvenile... I had to turn off the english voice over quickly. I dont know why this game is getting high praise... Its like this is praise by people who didnt play it... Chained Echoes was WAY better. And it cost LESS than half. And that game took me 60 hours to beat AND i didn't get nearly all of the achievements. This is a mediocre game. calling it anything else is disingenuous.
@@alinaitzal1173 “did not fix anything”
>>missed Travel Banters can be seen in the journal after finishing a chapter
>>better storytelling overall, Hikari’s personally was a big sign of this
>>more options to work with, such as Hikari’s Learned Skills, latent abilities in general, etc
>>subjobs are no longer relegated to just one character, aside from secret jobs
>>characters actually acknowledge each other in battle
>>there’s other stuff too
You can dislike the game, but when you call out other people for just liking the game, that’s the line you shouldn’t have crossed.
In OT2 I have had an unexpected random encounter. I’m not far enough to know what it means. An area looked off, I got a weird random encounter, and then the area was back to normal after the encounter. I was quite impressed and wish more media would just raise a question with no commentary and let it linger. (Assuming there is a payoff later. No spoilers please)
I can’t wait until Sea of Stars. The demo was amazing. If the story shapes up it might become my favorite JRPG.
I just finished the demo a couple hours ago... Reading their individual stories, they seem to be on par with the first one. Connecting them automatically makes it better. Graphics and gameplay good as expected. Music is FIRE. Salute to SE. Appreciate the content.
Yeah! I’m playing it right now. Hikari is my man!
@@JMrealgamer I picked Throné because I liked the thieve class in OT. That story is wild and grim. Baffled me in the original that Primrose, chapter one was mad. This is going to be a epic game.
Yeah that seemed to be the only real complaint with the first one for most people. So if they did a better job intertwining the storys and giving the characters more overlap and interactions then this is gonna be a win for sure
@@TheParaxore The stories in the first one were intertwined, you guys didn´t finish the game.
@@FelixS. To a degree they were but not as much as they could have been
Stories here are far more connected than in the first. I had to wait chapter 4 to see that they were more in OT1.
In Two I already understand with Hikari, Ochette and Temenos than stories are more than it seems. The stories are clearly connected in this one.
Problem is that characters still don't appear in the other characters stories.
Personnaly, I loved OT1 and I'm amazed by 2. It's already one of my favorit and I still not begun chapter 2 (and already 20h of game).
And now what is your opinion ?
It’s been 4 years and there are people that still think the stories in Octopath Traveler aren’t connected.🤦
They are but the first game connected the stories very loosely so I don't blame people for thinking they don't connect at all
My complaint was that the stories were very so one note and predictable. Add in the insane level of grind needed to just progress to the next chapter, it was extremely frustrating and after a while became a chore to play. The game got boring really quick.
@@PurushNahiMahaPurush what's with people hating on grinding? Maybe I'm just old school, but grinding is fun af
It’s cause they aren’t. The end is connected outta no where but they have no connectivity for the rest of your playtime with it until then. It wasn’t enough at all.
I played OT till the end, and I don't feel the connection between the characters at all, at least they don't have a big impact on each other. I don't blame them for thinking that at all
It’s interesting that I found Fire Emblem 3 Houses better than Octopath 1 but Octopath 2’s demo is already MUCH better than Fire Emblem Engage. Can’t wait.
Loved the first and the demo has me waiting for the second. I like the new day/night mechanic, ladders, water traversal, early jobs that are not tied to a class, and the fact it has the same magic the first one had like its combat/music.
I started Therion first time through the first so I gotta stick with thief and take Throne for this one
I'm doing throne too! Her large nightlife city is interesting
i really cant wait for this game. ive had it preordered for a while now. the art style really does it for me!
definitely a high 8 or low 9 personally. All characters this time around felt unique and fun to be invested in. Gameplay's fun as ever if not even better with the innate ability, well-orchestrated soundtrack and design, beautiful HD 2D artwork, great individual storylines for all the characters (some more than others but still fantastic). It still lacks that core interconnected story that fans such as myself wanted from the original game. There's more interaction this time around I think but not by much and it stinks more this time around because I like all the characters and wish they had interacted more. Other than that, i'm 47 hours in and still having a blast.
I picked up Octo traveler 1. Love it so much just bought 2. Not even done with 1 yet. Lol.
On the Nintendo Switch?
@@zCHAOSzWestUp yes I’m sure I’ll like 2 after playing 1
@@ronmcclure2674 I play on Nintendo Switch Too i got addicted to the 3 hour demo this week and purchased a physical copy it will be here on Sunday idk why I didnt find out about this game sooner 🔥🤣
Places are praising it for being "unforgettable" and then slapping it with a 75/100 because it's more Octopath.
"If you liked the first one, you'll adore the sequel. C+"
Right? I don't get it.
I'd be surprised if that wasn't an IGN review. That's the level of idiocy I get from that kind of review.
The original Octopath Traveller contained some of the best music & graphics depicted in a game. Also it actually DID contain an interconnected story.
Not a popular opinion but Soulsborne games like Elden Ring do a worse job of telling their story (I love and hate that). Both games require connecting dots and even going online w/a community to figure it all out. I’ve watched tons of videos to understand Elden Ring/Dark Souls/Bloodborne but only one to figure out the secret boss in Octopath. The rest was good storytelling with a wrinkle hiding something extra.
Anyways, I love that game and will likely love the 2nd. Glad it’s getting fair reviews although I think it would be higher if people actually rated it for what it was and embraced its style like they do with other genre/sub-genre breaking/defining games.
Note: Octopath along with Live Alive are two of the only jrpgs that have multiple main protagonist, tell somewhat disjointed stories, have a hidden overarching story and give agency to play in whatever order you want…even neglecting paths. It’s at least a sub-genre as much as its unique graphic defining HD-2D art style imo.
I think the most sales will be on the switch portably is key with this game
It's most likely going to be. According to the Amazon charts the Switch is the best selling version.
Is there a final boss like galdera at the end you know when all chapters are complete
Question do the main characters interact with each other more? Because my issue with the first game that the main characters barely interact with each others. I would love if the characters interact like in Triangle Strategy.
Yes, the characters interact much more this time around and actually acknowledge each other’s presence! feels a lot more organic.
To clarify, there are side adventures, not just banter, that feature 2+ main characters who develop their personalities, solve problems together, and cement their connections to each other. But each character still has a solo story where they don't interact with the other party members except in banter. It's a step up, but not perfect. Great game though.
@@rclaws3230 I just dont get it why they cant do it like Triangle Strategy or older Final Fantasy games like 5 and 6? Why such basic feature that existed since the dawn of time of JRPGs seems so hard to get now and when we get a half assed one ? People seems happy and satisfied? Imagine having a new car that doesnt have AC but then they introduced a newer version of the car adding AC then some people get happy because finally the new car has AC? Which is a basic function and shouldnt be removed in the first place?
Just from the demo giving it anything under a 90 is bs
Cant wait for it to be once again to be not winning or maybe even nominated to get soundtrack of the year. From what i heard so far its on the quality and even higher than the original. Some western game cookie cutter that barely have any variety compared to this will win or Zelda because its more popular.
I've found the story telling better from what I've played from the demo. Better music and camera/graphics etc also help.
Is this one less harder than the last one? Because I had to grind so much on the last one due to how big the level gap gets in every section
Do you have to grind a ton after the first chapter?
I hope so :>
Playing Octo 2 demo right now. Hikari is the main man to start for me! 😁
Partitio for me ! He’s so cool
Hikari for me as well. Love the character design
Temenos for me. Dude won me over in the first minutes, his personality is just 10/10
hyped for this one, the first games only misstep was the story, so as long as that is improved here, it should be great!
The criticism is valid.
With the mind of a critic I would agree with any of the 7 to 8 scores.
But for my personal tastes, it's like a 9.5/10. It's going to get platinumed on PS5. Which is something I only do with games I greatly enjoy. I only have 10 platinum trophies.
The only thing I really do not like is that none of the other characters are part of any other character's story. Even if they had no dialogue: just present in the scene and silent and acknowledged occasionally that they exist would be better than what we got. They do have crossover side stories though. And that is very welcome.
Played some of the demo had a good time probably pick it up later this year
Have played the demo for 9 hours already. Haven't felt this hyped for a turn-based JRPG in quite a while. Might be my GOTY if the rest of the game gets better as it goes on.
Which 3 Chars did you start with and which is your favorite?
@@AndreasRunge999
Haven't played them all yet, but Castti was my first character. Something about her calm theme and the mystery about finding out who she is resonated with me. Her chapter 1 is pretty easy though.
Second character I picked was Agnea. Normally don't like dancer classes, but I actually enjoy her character and the way she plays. During those three hours, I also recruited Throné and completed her chapter 1 as well. Throné has a very dark chapter 1, one of the better thief characters in a JRPG I have played.
Third was Osvald. He is pretty cool but so far the most difficult to get through of the characters I played, being a mage. I also rushed to get a full party in this run. Was able to somehow get Hikari, Agnea, Hikari, and Castti on that run before time ran out.
Hi, how were you able to play for 9hrs? I would like to try other character/characters but it is limited to 3hrs it says, Thanks :)
@@patrikhejnar9495 I just make a new game and never save that file, playing the 3 hours and then not saving. Then I do it again for another character on another new game.
@@starknightlumina8680waste of time lol
You’re so nice OJ. The disconnect is they only played the demo.
I´m hyped! Loved that 3 hour demo. That HD-2D evolved since the start. 🥳.
9:30 I can´t see the problem there, in this game it are just complete strangers that cross paths at one point in time. Going all in when meeting some one passing by doesn´t make sense.
In Xenoblade Chronicles, Final Fantasy VII and Tales of Symphonia the cast already bonded before the game started. Loosely connected is good here in my opinion.
@@cactusman07pim the demo can be 9 hours long if you play each character
@@scuppo I know, but if I do that I´ve got to replay chapter one of 2 protagonists on my main save file. So I just wait till next Friday.
Id like to see a Zenogears remake with this style of visuals
Octo path 1 was amazing. Ready for 2
Even Jason Schreier tweeted that they fixed the character interactions.
Octopath traveler was an amazing game, I'm going to be buying octopath traveler 2 today, I don't know much about the game so far other than what I played in the demo, my only issue with the game first game was the grind, I don't have much time to play games anymore so having to spend 1-3 days grinding is a turn off, but I'm sure some people enjoy that aspect.
Grind during the night and use turbo mode you ll get higher exp and super quick... Plus there's even other way to get more exp but it's enough to get you going.
@MrGrimmmy I've been doing that grinding isn't as bad in the second game I've got about 1/2 the team in the 40s and the other half in the 30s
I definitely question whether or not some of these more open review critics have actually played more than eight hours of the game
FIRE GAME, looking nice. Octopath really kicked off something special, here's to the sequel!
I know they re did alot of the old final Fantasy games but I'd love a full octopath treatment. That would be amazing
It's great they drop the demo I'm picking it up
I absolutely loved the first game and can’t wait for this game. I preordered the switch version but now I wonder if I should get it on the ps5 instead.
same boat i have a week to decide
@@krazymunky88 Best Buy has a steel book for preordering through them. I’m a sucker for those.
No, stick with your Switch purchase. It will look great alongside the first one.
Ps5 load times doesn't exist. So on ps5, game will look better and have better load times. Any reason to buy this on switch would be if you plan to play it hand held / away from home.
Game freak needs to do a pokemon game in hd2d
If anything this game does a much better job of connecting the stories both plotwise and character interaction wise. Really, the first Octopath was just a prototype for what Octopath II would become.
I thought part 1 was really good 👍 I wonder what flaws they are talking about being corrected?
The grind, the disjointed story, the choose your character path doesn't lend itself to a smooth feeling 3 act story with built up climax ... did I mention grind
It's an rpg mostly all I have played requires some grind if you want to be strong.
I think it is fair to say OT 2 is better than the first. Then, the ones that disliked the first will probably dislike this one as well and the ones who loved the first, like myself, will probably love OT2.
Make another top 10 physical switch to invest in!!😊
I would love to see more HD2D games. Especially remasters of old school JRPGs.
Really hoping the FF9 leak ends up being just that. And my deepest desire that will never happen is for a HD2D Xenogears.
If you're intrested, Square is already doing a Dragon Quest 3 remake in this style.
great summary! though i admit i got very distracted by the game visuals, they're just so stunning. loved the first game, don't think i'll be regretting my preorder for the second one!
Looks like a great game and I really enjoyed the first. If its just more of the same though, going to give it a miss. Already have too many other games on the backlog
Correct me if I am wrong, but the switch version is NOT 1080p 60. It's 1080p/720p 30 depending on docked or handheld.
Nevertheless, I am hyped for the game and am glad as heck to play the ps5 version because it looks just so much better than the switch version on an adequate TV.
Great Video nevertheless.
*Xenoblade X finally rereleases decades later*
OJ in 2084: “This proves what I’ve been saying all along!”
OT 1 gets an 83, and OT2 an 86? Change the 8’s to 9’s on both and that would be a more accurate score.
I think live a live is more of live (the act of) alive. When you say it that way to me it's meaning changes slightly.
One negative I see is that almost every attack produces the same gold hit flash against the monsters. Could've mixed that up a bit. It gets old just watching the trailers of it. Cant imagine seeing the same response over and over for a full game. Its minor I guess, but different spells/attacks should produce different visual results more often than not.
I absolutely loved Bravely Default 2. Also loved 1, and have bd second, but haven't finished it...
Bought the first Octopath day one. I really disliked the first Octopath because the characters never felt like they were actually TOGETHER(at least in the first parts of the game). The stories literally made me sleepy, and the battles felt too long for the basic enemies you come across. The demo for Octopath 2 sold me from the start with a MUCH better story, and when I added my second character, they actually talked to each other and acknowledged another human is actually standing there.
I pre-ordered the deluxe edition for the Switch but I am going to buy it and play it on my PS5. So hype!
Nintendo World Report is on crack. They went so far as to say the soundtrack wasn't good. I have been listening to the soundtrack on Ayra Hikari's youtube channel last two days, and I'm the guy who puts podcasts on while I play.
Hi dude . Day one on Nintendo Switch for me !!! Thanks dude .
Christ there’s too many games.. my secret shame is I still have the first one in my backlog.
This style of game is perfect on the Switch. Pre ordered
I am not disappointed with Square Enix's support with Switch. The FF games on Switch are great; only issue is missing FFVII Remake and XVI, but those games can always come on Switch 2. The presence of the original FFVII, VIII, IX, X, and XII and the upcoming Pixel Remasters all make up for the absence of XVI and VII Remake. Octopath Traveler II is a must order. As a Switch owner, I am looking forward to this.
I’ve always felt the critique of “the stories are disconnected” to be a bit in bad faith. The game is pretty explicitly not trying to be one overarching narrative and rather eight seperate stories (that still do connect but not overtly so). It’s literally in the name; octopath, eight paths. It feels to me like reviewers are critiquing something that is deliberately not supposed to be an aspect of the game rather than actually looking at the material in it. You wouldn’t f.e. critique a Zelda game for not having guns in it or Ace Attorney for not having a combat system, that’s not features intended to be in the game by their respective developers. I feel like reviewers should do more due diligence of reviewing games for what they are and whether they succeeded in those aspects rather than commenting on what they are not.
It seems judging from the reviews I read and watched it is a minor upgrade to the original, nothing dramatic which is fine.
I feel like there should have been new classes/jobs and not just the same with a skin/story over. If that makes sense. However im hyped for the game and the demo is amazing anyways.
There does seem to be new secondary jobs though. Near Throné's zone in the demo, you can find one, it's called (minor spoilers)

@@jojocookie774 Mild spoilers ahead!
The three others are also functionally similar to the secret jobs from OT1 (except Sorcerer), albeit with some small changes.

Hear me out... FFX was the original octopath traveler but it's missing one character. Just think about it
First! Love the content brotha, keep it up
The Switch version is not 1080p 60 fps. It's 720p docked, 576p portable and runs at 30 fps.
It's also missing certain lighting effects, screen effects and has slower loading times compared to PS5. It doesn't matter too much for this type of game, but you should make what you are sacrificing for portability more clear.
I'll buy it and will play it and probably really enjoy it, but as someone who loved FFVI for it's interconnected and epic story, there will always be that unscratched itch ...
WAIT...
Is it true that u don’t have to play the first game to understand the second?
I'm gonna get this game and I know it will be at least as good as the first, but I'm SO pissed and disappointed that the devs didn't listen at ALL to critical feedback and make an overarching plot that links the 8 characters together.
Cause that would take away the appeal. First had connections just very lose one’s. Since they wanted to tell bunch short stories
i suggest playing a different game - the game is called octo'path' traveler for a reason, and its appeal is in telling eight different stories linked together by a theme/'big bad', etc. from what i hear and am seeing so far in this one, however, the second game does a better job of binding the main theme together, however. like for example, i'm already sensing common themes that may have something to do with each other in temenos' and ochette's stories. characters interact and acknowledge each other a lot more. it fixes a LOT of the problems the first one had, but its narrative structure is not a flaw, it is simply a narrative choice - though myself, i AM hoping there are clues i will be able to look back on in these separate stories so i can go 'wait a minute... so THAT'S how they're linked together to this big bad' because in all honesty the first one was ROUGH and that overarching theme was NOT evident at all.
I got stuck on galdara the final boss in the first. Didn't feel like grinding for JP, I spent it on the wrong abilities. I'm going to be smarter this time with how I use it
For what people ask for it is literally Bravely Default 2 yet it isnt as interesting to them because of what the visuals or the overworld map or the artstyle ?
Should have been at least a 90% on metacritic. I don’t know what reviewers are smoking these days. I really think some just play a few hours of the game before the review. I don’t know how you could possibly improve on this sequel.
Feels weird they never ported the original to PSN.
What is oj upset with the handling of FF games on switch?
He thinks SE can do miracles and port games like FFVII Remake or XVI to Switch.
Sounds like the same overall issues I had with the first one, the stories are too disjointed for my taste. Oh well, didn't expect much.
a veteran OT player here, OT 2 is indeed a much better game than the 1st one. especially the animations and fully voiced now for all cutscenes. graphics also improved a lot. the musics and voice acting are still top tier as usual. overall a better game than the 1st one. this 2nd one is even easier than the 1st one that already easy to begin with lol.
My wife pre-ordered this game for me for Valentine’s Day :) [I got her $500 in jewelry - but I love to spoil her].
I did stop playing the first one bc of the disconnected stories, but I loved it otherwise. So I’m really looking forward to this one. I also LOVED Triangle Strategy.
Had no issues with the story in the first one. Looks like more of the same to me. I spotted p playing the first game because I got too many games.
If you played the game entirely you would know the stories do connect
Can I play this without playing the first one
Why are the stories for each characters being related a big issue for people? The game means 8 path traveler and when I play the 1st game, I see that each characters are the main character of their own story so it makes sense that it should not be related. Only at the end they found their path meets when they went to fight the final boss then it connects
The problem is more that there is was almost no interaction between the characters in your partner.
A character might say they are all alone and evidently they are in a group that don’t say anything to them, and they would. It breaks immersion.
It’s fine to have your own quest but when you are in a party you expect interactions and reactions to plot developments.
@@makasete30 this is fixed in the second game by a mile tbh.
Curious, Team Asano’s “highest rated game”… the one that comes to PlayStation 🤔🤔
When you do a review can you give a score number
Really don’t understand the reviews in the 70s they’re practically glowing.
I played the demo, and only saw the merchant and the dancer's beginning stories. I loved the merchant's story, despite him having a stupid and impossible utopia goal. But the dancer? She kind of reminded me of a cute e-girl who goes around winking at people and tricking them out of their items just because she looks nice when she twirls in that dress or something. Felt really shallow and stupid. I automatically didn't like her after discovering her ability lol. Just my preference, though.
My only issue with Octopath Traveler 2 is it seems like a total retread.
Each character trope from the first game is back, only slightly altered.
Even the stories have huge similarities.
The game is GREAT. Don't get me wrong. But I feel like I pretty much played it already with the first entry.
And gameplay wise, it's nearly exactly the same.
Only difference that even comes to mind is you can have multiple characters having the same sub job.
Anything less than 90 is a crime.
I remember everybody was mad because Otocpath was Nintendo exclusive and no other consoles had it. 😂
I'm really conflicted. I enjoyed the first game a lot, put 60 hours into but never finished because it became boring and repetitive. When I realized that the main characters were never going to interact with each other in any meaningful way I lost interest. If this is more of that…think I'll wait for a sale…
personally, i think there's a lot more character interaction in this one, to the point where characters actually comment to another about stuff that's actually happening in the story through the travel banter, acknowledge each other in battle, and there's the crossed paths stories as well where two characters interact in a side story. over all a huge improvement from the first.
Now it’s down to a 84 on metacritic.
Sounds like these mixed reviews are comparing OT 2 with story heavy RPGs.. makes no sense to compare.
Where is my FFXIII on switch
Does the dancer have a side quest where she cultivates an Onlyfans?
I’m about 30 hrs in….. the stories are most definitely not connected 😂… there’s a very lazy attempt at combo stories between two characters at a time in certain sections. That’s it.
This feels more like a turned based story game than an RPG
The only reason I didn't buy the game on switch is becuz the graphic is so much better and smoother no other complaints bought the game yesterday with 5 hrs in only but it's freaking amazing
