- A scary I-4 crash involving five cars was caught on video.
The video shows a woman in the car moments before another car is pushed into hers. Then, you can see the headlights get closer to her and smash into her car.
Florida Highway Patrol Troopers said there were five cars in total in the crash. The driver of one of the cars was arrested for driving under the influence. Troopers said she failed field sobriety tests at the scene of the crash.
The driver seen in the video is expected to be okay.

I don’t think she is pregnant, I think she is just really fat. You can see the way the seatbelt is around her waist that almost all of the belt is used up because of her being overweight. That is probably what saved her life though. The weight kept her from going too far due to gravity. Hopefully this brush with death will convince her that she needs Go on a diet and not be so fat. Life is more than just eating. I speak a little Spanish, and towards the end she told her mother to order takeout

At a moment like this, when you're abruptly in shock, you look around in disbelief that the rest of the world is going on normally around you. You think, how could all these other cars just keep driving past while I'm dazed and totally disoriented?
I was in a situation like this, i almost opened my driver side door while oncoming traffic was coming but this couple helped me even let me get in their car.
I think when I had my accident, I blacked out I don’t remember.
@@lugh5210 In my first significant car crash I had a few seconds of no memory, while the car was skidding and then flipping over. When I mentally came back, I was looking through the windshield at the pavement. My second crash was fortunately not as bad, so I was totally aware the entire time.

So this happened to me like 5 years ago a few weeks before I went into knee surgery, ended up injuring my back and injured my knee before the surgery ever began! It’s scary being in any type of accident. Just glad her and the baby were fine afterwards❤

That’s exactly how I was. I was pregnant when someone hit me. My arm and leg were broken and the first thing I said was that I was pregnant and during x-rays I made sure they covered my stomach. That’s the only thing I could think about was my son.

I remember how calm i was in my first accident. Time slowed so much. It's probably the most adrenaline i have ever taken to this day.
my heart feels for this woman and Im so thankful she is alright. It was sad to hear her talking to her mother and then her voice begins to get scared and cracks slightly when her mom didnt answer right away, her mother is calming her and making her feel safer during such a scary moment. Thankfully she was wearing the seatbelt.

She doesn’t realize that when she hit the emergency button on her OnStar system that it disconnected the call to her mother to make the call to emergency services, most likely due to a combination of disorientation and not fully understanding how that technology works. That’s why her mother wasn’t answering her.

Props to the woman for being very alert, spotting the incoming vehicle in the rear view mirror and bracing herself a fraction of a second before the crash.
Bracing is the absolute *WORST* thing to do in an eminent collision. You want to ragdoll, not brace.
That's why drunks survive and sober people don't - they're not tensed up when the impact happens.

It's ability to be brittle is what keeps the driver inside the vehicle safe and that is why cars nowadays are built using mainly plastic/carbon fiber and not necessarily metal/steel.

She might have been breaking hard why the bag rolled which caused the jeep to run into the back of her because they didn't realized she was on her breaks. Rainy weather always decrease your following distance. Or this will happen on slippery wet roads.
@@justicerelax2854 no, the car was speeding. So the truck had slowed down and she slowed down but the car next to the truck didn't slow down at all. They were pretty much racing the truck and not paying any attention. They were waaaay too far when she was breaking and the bag fell off. That's why speeding is bad, it can be hard to judge the distance between you and stopped vehicles.
Imagine if the bag somehow softened the impact and somehow helped her 🤔

The place where the seat belt went over her collar bone most likely snapped her collarbone in half, or pulled her shoulder out of socket, or perhaps even both. Add to that a couple possible broken ribs and probably whiplash. I think this woman definitely took a trip to the hospital after this. :(

I was hit like this 2 years back and it sucks. Never take off your seatbell after a collision unless you are sure that it's safe to take it off.
Very scary, glad she wore her seatbelt. I’m sure in the heat of the moment, that was her first reaction to take it off, but it was a very dangerous decision. I know people that have been hit by cars after they took off their seatbelt. They suffered major internal bleeding from broken bones. Glad she is ok.

I was hit like this as well, it led to a 3 car crash. The back of my car was up to my backseats. I had my little brothers with me in the back as well. Alhamdulillah none of them got hurt.

Same for me at a red light. Was taking my best friend to work when we were rear ended then tboned. I lost both my legs and my friend lost one. People don’t understand unless something horrible happens to them which I pray never does. God bless.
It was me,my dad,and my little sister was in a truck and my dad had a seizure and ran into a car infront of us that was stopped at stop light.The family was extremely mad at me and my father and he kept yelling at us saying that he wasn't supposed to be driving.He had every right to be angry and we were trying to have fun with our dad but it didn't end really well.My little sister was traumatized after seeing our dad have a seizure in the truck then having a really bad crash after.I blame myself all the time for letting that happen.

Sudden braking on a freeway, what does she expect? Slowing down or coming to a stop should be done gradually, not abruptly. This is not taught in driving lessons so you're relying on people to have common sense.

I’m so sorry this happened but so glad she is awake and alert she wanted to make sure her baby was ok when I was in labor I feel down a icy flight of stairs and the first thing I asked was “please tell me my baby is ok” I had hit my head and got a concussion 5 hours later I welcomed my first baby 3/18/18 💕💕
Taking off her seatbelt was a stupid mistake. I know it was reactionary but there's always the chance of being hit again in a multi car pile up. She is lucky.

Drunk Driver - another drunk driver causing injuries. Should there be a medical test to check for long term alcohol abuse and then suspend driving licence until they can show a clean test?

More than scared, confused, or curious, these types of accident always make me *so* angry. No attempt whatsoever to slow down, clearly on a phone or otherwise not paying attention.
Honestly, this goes to show how safe modern cars are. If this was a car from the 1970s, there certainly would have been severe injuries or worse.
I remember being hit from the side and my car spun several times.
The other car ran a red light.
To this day I approach a green light with caution and I am just a very defensive driver because of it. I wont start my car until everyone is buckled.

My moms car got totaled when we were hit from behind driving me home from hip surgery. I was laying across the back seat when we were hit because that was the only position I could be in; I feel so grateful my hip didn’t just immediately pop back out considering I was on an operating table 3 hours prior…would love to see the video footage of me hobbling down the highway on crutches during Bay Area rush hour traffic though 💀

Always keep an eye on your mirrors. If you catch it in time, hit the gas. getting hit while moving forward slowly is a lot less of an impact than when you are sitting still.
This is why you also don't pull up 3 feet from the car ahead of you. Give yourself a way out if you need to move suddenly.
A lot of people don't understand that. I see tailgating several times on a daily basis.
It appears from the video she realized a car was coming and braced, right before the impact.
It looks like the guy behind her was going way too fast, came up behind her too quickly, and just completely skidded forward and out when he tried to slow down.

I was in a car accident around 2 weeks ago. I was in the back with my friend while my other friend was the driver. It was a bus that hit us & the driver came at the passenger side. I live everyday now thinking what if I had sat there because I really did consider it. During the moment when you’re hit, it’s all so quick & like a movie scene. It’s crazy and dizzy. Afterwards you’re left there in shock with your mouth hanging and gasping for air. We were all lucky enough to have been conscious. I got a bad bruise on my left arm & forehead because I flew but luckily my friend grabbed me & prevented me from getting even more hurt. I flew bc my seatbelt came loose somehow. My friends seatbelt snagged her waist rly hard. My driver friend has a concussion. This lady is brave & I hope she’s doing as well as we are. Life is too precious.

One car crash, five cars involved.
I live by route 9 in central Jersey. For more than four years, I see on that route every single day, fatal car accident, serious injuries, etc. drivers are either speeding or on their phone. I’ve lived in Jersey for almost thirty one years and never seen reckless drivers like the one on Rt 9. The sad part is that they don’t learn from other drivers’ mistake.
Those idiots that crash like this deserves 50 years in jail and to life in prison if somebody died
