According to this video the automatic transmission C mode is Confort and S mode is Sport, but in the manual of the can you can read that the S mode is not a sport mode it is a standard mode. In S mode the car starts from the first gear and in C mode the car starts from the second gear. If a car has an anti roll back it is deactivated when you are in (S) standard mode.

+Lanre Oladejo. An E46 with the ZHP option is getting very hard to find in my area (Tulsa, OK). I looked at a beautiful silver ZHP sedan with new BBS wheels, hesitated, and it was sold the next day. The ZHP optioned E46 is the closest one may come to owning an E46 M3. I absolutely loved the way it drove and handled and the ZHP body additions look great. I also like the "cube" carbon fiber type interior trim. Finding one in good shape with the manual 6-speed is almost impossible here where I currently reside.

They are a good car. Be sure to get one built after April 2004. It has upgraded Dash and engine (most importantly) Very reliable if looked after, inexpensive to run and easy to repair with knowledge, although buying all the tools could send you broke. Look for oil leaks at the Cam Shaft sensors (just lift off the front Engine Cover, (if it still has one, as most break over time), as there was an issue with that oil dripping down to the ECU and killing it. Get a transmission service done, unless they have done one in past 15000 miles, and you will have enjoyable, smooth driving, with a little bit of kick from the Kompressor.
I really like my 2007 C230. I did not know about the locking gas cap, cool. Yes, there are some engine models that you should avoid due to the gear issue but it is not all engines. A quick VIN lookup will let you know. S is for Sport or Standard and C is for Comfort. I always run in S. C mode starts out in a higher gear and I use if for slick surfaces like rain or snow. Mine has a seven speed transmission that is to die for. The phone controls are useless; I dare anyone to hook a modern phone up. The car is whisper quiet only broken by the 6 CD changer in my model. I really liked the review.
So I just noticed, the air vent (over the battery to the left) doesn't have the filter nor filter holder. So you're taking the air directly from outside without filtering. The red button shouldn't hold the hood or release it. That button is for extending the hood to a 90 degree angle so you can work on the engine or anything on the engine more easily. After owning one for a year I can definitely tell you tho, it's the most comfortable, great sounding with excellent stereo and best ride comfort I've had. Love it. But I do agree. The steering is ugly. Makes me think of Sid in ice age. XD
I have the C280 07 and an 03 C240 before that. I love my Benzes, I just wish it was built better. Trim pieces are falling off and I'm not happy. I heard the E class fares better.
my friend just bought one of these and his glove box has a JVC 6 disk player in it with mercs logo on it so it must just be a package add on his is the 07 Merc c230 sport and it's very bright red
B_StangF150 yes I have one with the CD changer, it also came with fully electronic climate control, a 10 way adjustable power seat with memory settings, and leather seats, not MB tex which most were imported with. Now in 2018 It has 34,300 miles, I got it 6 months old, with 4,000 miles, it was a Mercedes loaner car in a posh little area of Denver. It has been a joy in every way. I recommend it as a first car.
I have the same car, I just bought it. But mine has a Mercedes CD changer in the glove box plus the one in the dash! I love how it has the AMG exhaust and the cross drilled rotors. The spoiler is perfect size not to big not to small. And I didn't know the calipers are Brembo's but they are as well. Car goes all right for 201 H.P. but when I put the dual K%N's that should wake it up a little. I do love the looks and all the stuff inside!

But don't know if I'm going to get the flat hood emblem? Kinda like the one that's on there but will probably look stupid with the roundel sticking up and having a big one in the center of the grille too. Well good luck and keep it under a 100 if you can. I went to the doctors today and I had to go on the highway. I got up to 130 MPH like nothing and it was like I was going 30 MPH smooth as glass. Let me know if you do anything to yours keep in touch!
After 70k miles it's nothing but problems I have the same car Problems I've had where Starter like 400$ I believe Speed censor b (1600$) at Mercedes. Thermostat & something with some intake sensors 900$ And coil packs (cyl 5 for me) 450$

There ain't nothing on that car that I can't fix unless the transmission goes or the actual Motor and even then If I really wanted I could but I don't have lifts and the right tools for shit like that!
not if you cant afford the Maintenance. good cars but i have the c280 3.0 4 matic and maintenance is involved with fluid changes on regular basis. diff fluid, tranny fluid etc not cheap unless you do yourself. but solid car
Umm Bluetooth was not available in 2007. As I own this car the 2007 c230 does not have bluetooth, or a auxiliary input, however it is an amazing vehicle. I've owned several cars and the C230 AMG is solid.
Wheres the AUX input? and can it run music on bluetooth? When I test drived it, it seemed to not go straight away as I put my leg of the breaks, is that normal?
slightly? was the handbreak on? mine does not do that but it is a heavier car. there is no AUX but you can buy an AM/FM transmitter and it will work like a charm.
I see a lot of those cars with the Sport Package where I live. Those engines have a major engine defect and the balance shaft gear is faulty. RUN, don't walk, away from that car!!

Sorry to hear that Brandon. I blew a head gasket on my 2006 BMW 325i. That car has had numerous, expensive problems and I kept up with the maintenance. It just has so many cheap plastic parts and crappy gaskets from the factory. I know, I know, It's just part of owning an E90. Dayum!

I just looked up 3 starters on ebay pulled from cars with under 30,000 miles for 75 bucks and a brand new one I found for 225!

Umm Bluetooth was not available in 2007. As I own this car the 2007 c230 does not have bluetooth, or a auxiliary input, however it is an amazing vehicle. I've owned several cars and the C230 AMG is solid.
