Perfectly said!!!! JIM belonged to a different realm...and his soul lives there, in a deeper level of consciousness, guiding and protecting us from Above💓
The Doors are simply IMO, the best band that ever existed. Yes I realize the weight of saying that but Morrison was such a talented genius and his band also so ridiculously talented, I have no choice but to admit it and mind you, I have been a huge Pink Floyd fan since 1979. This band was soooooooooooooooo DEEP. Over the years this band has grown on me and now it has become my favorite. The concert at the Hollywood Bowl where they do When the Musics Over , REALLY got to me.
Manzarik and Morrison were a team...old friends. College together. ....anyway the band is behind Jim. And he provides them with AM radio Pop sound ....( Pays the rent for the fun stuff ....)
You hit it right on the head. They had their own style. When the drummer was asked by Dick Clark what kind of style of music to they play, what do they call it?.................he said " we are on the other side of it, we just play it, it's up to people on the outside to place a category on it, not us. " Then of course he asked Morrison " why LA woman? " his answer was "because the west is the best"...............which of course is a line out of their song The End. I thought that answer was great.

How come Robby Krieger is not rated higher on the all time rock guitarist list? He was "the" guitar on all of the Doors songs and his playing pulled you into the music.
That crossed my mind literally ... yesterday. He imitated no one. Listen to L.A. Women, there isn’t a song where he doesn’t do something interesting, really interesting, strange. One of the things that set Krieger apart was his slide playing. Totally original, nothing at all to to with the style we’re used to, inventive and scary. And the complete “Light My Fire” solo remains one of the greatest ever.. Morrison so dominated the band that Krieger did not get the respect he deserved. On the other hand, his post-Doors stuff was not nearly in the same category as his playing with Morrison. I have to assume that while the latter was often removed from the rest of the band - hurting himself, basically - he brought out the best in them. It’s a cliche, but a cliche based heavily on truth when it came to Morrison. Does his best album ever and, still in the thrall of his belief that he was the second coming of Rimbaud - he wasn’t - he goes to Paris on the heels of a masterpiece and essentially buries himself with his heroes. And it still bothers me 50 years later.
I saw them in concert 1970 Montreal Forum. In those days all tickets were the same price, you just had to get there 24 hours early and wait. He was pretty hammered and forgot some words but what a show. The guy was on fire and filled with energy he was my hero and when he died it was a sad day.

About 15 minutes into my journey home, I felt myself nodding off. Well, wouldn't you know I hear Jim's voice booming from the radio " A-Keep your eyes on the road, your hands upon the wheel." Everyone at my wedding reception danced to this ! We all got in huge circle held hands & did our thing individually while moving in a circle . What an awesome song & an awesome dance & memory !
Wonderful song , I love it , my youngest son called Jim , Jimmy , because of Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix ,Jimmy Dean , and so on our family love all the wonderful people and the freedom and love they gave us . Thank you very much for this lovely song.
If you ever wanted to sing a really bluesy track in front of an audience, this track ticks all the boxes. It's a burner, sets everything going nicely, little bit of naughtiness injected into the proceedings and it's just a great track...great vibe and I love the way Morrison sings it. This is how a song should be done. They don't do these songs any more...shame..
That's why I love Jim! He also predicted the future of music perfectly, just type in on CZcams: "Jim Morrison on the future of music" and it should come up.
It's crazy how little credit Morrison gets for his voice, but he literally influenced countless singers, from Bowie to Iggy Pop to Ian Curtis to the dude from the Cult to Vedder, Weiland, Staley... the list goes on and on. I think his love of spoken word, film and theater played a key role in how he approached his very rich tone. Long live the Lizard King.
This is hands down the best live version of this song. Jim Morrison being so cool in the beginning, and then the energetic scream, followed by a passionate roadhouse blues. I am typically a very open minded person, but anyone who disagrees with this sentiment is wrong
I'd say u can consider Chris Cornell and Eddie Vedder real rock stars. And there's also this new band called greta van fleet, the singer sounds so much like the 70's and the rest of the band too
Still kickin', just not well known to the public. Jimbo was one of a kind but check Blues Pills czcams.com/video/m_XcpHE3hIw/video.html if ya like that rock goodness. Cheers!

SHOCKING BUT TRUE. Jim & Robbie had never even been in a band before. And the first song Robbie ever wrote in his life (Light My Fire) went to #1 in the world.
Another thing, look how many classic songs they wrote in five years. Light My Fire People Are Strange Hello, I Love You Love her Madly Roadhouse Blues Break on through The End Riders on the storm LA Woman Touch Me These are songs still played on radio and used in movies.
I am 35 years old and only now I am able to enjoy the Doors music. I mean, I've heard them and of them before, but I didn't appreciate them until now. Sorry for my English.

Yes! Jim was in his own league. But we should never forget the rest of the band. Maybe the most underrated band in the history of rock! Remember they played the music! And it was the best!
They may be listed in such statistics, but overall people overlook them when talking about the greatest rock bands. Once they are in the conversation - yeah, they are very good, psychedelic rock, etc. but people dont mention them enough. So underrated is a proper statement.
they were then, but surely they are not seen as that now. I like them a lot, and many people I know do too, but are not getting the recognition by today's generation, as much as they deserve to.
you don't get concerts like this now, it was not a show, it was an event--you never knew what Jim would do on stage--he was so wild and delivered a performance
Yes, the three J's were the pinnacle of rock and roll. Btw, looked at your page, you gorgeous witch. Had a book recommendation but no way to message. Alas.
best thing was the interaction between artist and audience, made it seem real, like a connection, the small conversations, the stories, how they would point one person and say "yeah you understand right, yeah" those small things were awesome. i saw Guns n roses recently, almost 3 fucking hours might as well have been watching a video, back in the 80's and 90's you couldnt shut the guy up it was awesome.

Man, one thing that I wished for, was that the doors could have been around a lot longer. We got cheated. Left a definite void that never has been replaced. I knew they were something very rare even at five years old. Something that comes along once every 1000 years.
There are great musicians out there but they just don't have a chance with all the hip-hop R&B and Pop music ruling the airwaves. I just hope that someday in the not too distant future creative forces will be on the musicians side and create a new outlet for new music groups like this in the 50s - 70s

maybe Edgar A Poe?
Short answer; no
people who knew him would sure disagree.
Lol yes thewho, acdc like bro stop it lol
Yeah.He was a drunken bum wasn`t he?But he had great stage presence before he got fat from all the drinking and eating.@@mikidomeny1677
The Doors are their own music style. Amazing and endless!
Wonderful song , I love it , my youngest son called Jim , Jimmy , because of Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix ,Jimmy Dean , and so on our family love all the wonderful people and the freedom and love they gave us . Thank you very much for this lovely song.
I'm 61, things were different then, ... still listening
.

2021 and it still hits just as hard
Maybe even harder today (2023) due to what exists on the airwaves now. Which is pure trash.
My favorite, the one and only legendary Jim Morrison.
Bless yah darling.
A real LEGEND. ❤❤❤

Ha ha!! Jim's intro: "Everything is fucked up, as usual" . . . still rings true some 44 years down the road . . .
That's why I love Jim! He also predicted the future of music perfectly, just type in on CZcams: "Jim Morrison on the future of music" and it should come up.
Dexter Maul I've actually seen that clip before - cool stuff - will always be a fan of Jim and The Doors : )

Hola Pico51, I didn't know that. Gracias. It does make a difference.
West kill...also Dr. Dre..JZ qnd Eminem.
This is hands down the best live version of this song. Jim Morrison being so cool in the beginning, and then the energetic scream, followed by a passionate roadhouse blues. I am typically a very open minded person, but anyone who disagrees with this sentiment is wrong
HA! LOVE IT HOTWINGS.

He's good but nothing close to jim.

I'd say u can consider Chris Cornell and Eddie Vedder real rock stars. And there's also this new band called greta van fleet, the singer sounds so much like the 70's and the rest of the band too

SHOCKING BUT TRUE. Jim & Robbie had never even been in a band before.
And the first song Robbie ever wrote in his life (Light My Fire) went to #1 in the world.
Only topped charts USA,
Number 2 Canada
Only reached 48 UK, how is that #1 world wide
That’s pretty AMAZING! all four so talented🌟🎶

Roadhouse Blues

I am 35 years old and only now I am able to enjoy the Doors music. I mean, I've heard them and of them before, but I didn't appreciate them until now. Sorry for my English.
Welcome brother.
your English is very good !!
Yes! Jim was in his own league. But we should never forget the rest of the band. Maybe the most underrated band in the history of rock! Remember they played the music! And it was the best!
Jim Morrison
Doug Potoksky Rolling Stone poll ranked the Doors at #15 on list of all time greatest bands. No longer underrated.
They may be listed in such statistics, but overall people overlook them when talking about the greatest rock bands. Once they are in the conversation - yeah, they are very good, psychedelic rock, etc. but people dont mention them enough. So underrated is a proper statement.
how are the doors underrated lmfao they were seen as gods in their era
they were then, but surely they are not seen as that now. I like them a lot, and many people I know do too, but are not getting the recognition by today's generation, as much as they deserve to.
That scream at the start goes right into my VERY SOUL!!!

Yes, the three J's were the pinnacle of rock and roll. Btw, looked at your page, you gorgeous witch. Had a book recommendation but no way to message. Alas.
Thank you....
best thing was the interaction between artist and audience, made it seem real, like a connection, the small conversations, the stories, how they would point one person and say "yeah you understand right, yeah" those small things were awesome. i saw Guns n roses recently, almost 3 fucking hours might as well have been watching a video, back in the 80's and 90's you couldnt shut the guy up it was awesome.

Lyrics inspired by Alice Cooper, Jim overheard Cooper say that and went and wrote Roadhouse Blues.
