Coach Saban always preached the process. Football to Saban was taking talent and develop them not only to be the best player but To be a person. The NIL and transfer portal destroyed that. The attitude of the young players is all money driven. The best Coach, lost his real reason to Coach. Don't blame him. Thanks Coach for the memories.

100% facts from AJ. Especially about SC. We've really missed him. Need him back. I'd love to see AJ get a shot with us in the future, if he has any coaching interests. He obviously knows the game and also has common sense. A dangerous mix, these days.

He's actually one of the biggest surprises for me with him not dipping his toes into coaching yet.

He's hung on to playing for as long as he could because he truly loves the game. Another good sign of a potential coach.@@mapsgoonthewall5396

It will be lane kiffin or Dabo

  • @teller1290

I wonder if we'll be missing Lane in a couple years after Kalen(?) finds out he's not in the northwest...like that other northwesterner that went to that other fcs program in the state?
I guess Kiffin stiffing Alabama as o/c in '16 with his ridiculous FAU bs hurt his chances, along with stiffing TN and SEC when he dumpedvthem midstream to go to USC.

No hate toward DeBoer but I really do think skipping out on Kiffin was a questionable move
That being said Its entirely possible he wants to build a dynasty at ole miss

I think Saban did what he said he would he would eave when he just was not the best guy at the job anymore. He knows he has worn himself out, 17 yrs 72 yrs old he picked to go out on top not after team fell to lower ranks. yes he was great and is great and left while he and bama were still CFP play off team. he did what was best for him and team.

Kiffen is his in worst enemy. Apparently he rubbed the wrong people the wrong way. Saban is proof that you don't have to hire within the family. Dud we not learn anything from hiring Bryant deciples? On Stallings worked out while Perkins, Dubose, & Shula were average to bad. I hope fans give Deboer more of a shot than we gave Bill Curry

It’s clear that Lane Kiffin was blackballed during the post-Saban coaching search. Kiffin should have been on the shortlist, if not the top target, yet you heard nothing from Lane Kiffin himself or about him from the Alabama camp. When Greg McElroy was asked about Kiffin, he dismissed the idea summarily. I would like to know the backstory.

how was it clear kiffin was "blackballed"? do you really think kiffin in his position should cater to your pathetic youtube comment?

Was never going to be Kiffin. Come on. He’s one decent offer from heading somewhere other than Ole Miss. Scott Cochran? LOL! Just lost most of the respect I had for AJ.

    • @WreakingHavoc1

@@dbz24 Kiffin has had too many problems as a head coach. I still don't trust him. I think DeBoer was the best choice. He has a high percentage win record everywhere he's been and his speeches so far have impressed me. But I would agree with AJ on Scott Cochrane. Would love to see him back. I'd like to see him involved with the defense, even possibly as coordinator.

This have left us in a mess at Alabama. Nick should have waited until after the spring and said, I'm done after this year. Coached but let the coaches do all the heavy lifting.

My mama said, “if you can’t say something nice… don’t say anything at all. “

This is the second time Michigan chased away saban. The first time from MSU and now into retirement. You’re welcome to the rest of the SEC. Michigan did what you couldn’t - kill the king!
