As someone whose motor skills are shot to hell because of [POOR LIFE CHOICES], and thus cannot combo to this degree at fucking all, I feel especially qualified to say that the DMC series has this fantastic way of making even the simplest of combos feel badass.

Now is it possible he'd be a special unlockable character after the story? Maybe but still unlikely as he's too popular and too much of a money maker. At the absolute worse they'd have him have a kid or clone or whatever to inherit his gameplay. Because that's way too much work to throw out. Vergil on the other hand is the opposite, considering he has a 0% track record of popping in a base DMC game as playable. Literally 0%. But also 100% ever since his redesign in 3 as a playable character in SE's so odds are, he'd be there too.

Had a friend who tried DMC 5 for the first time last week. He hated V, and Nero was too complicated but said Dante was the greatest thing in gaming history, and Vergil was a win button.
@DianaProudmoore Nero has for different mechanics you have to juggle all at once at all times, or else you will lose out on both damage and attack speed while Vergil and especially Dante can be played in any way at any skill level and you will still get S ranks while shredding health bars.

ty, this is a bunch of small scripted combos (3 to 5 seconds duration each) interconected to make a bigger one, they can be mixed and looped in different orders. However, even if you do them in the same order of the video, sometimes you will have the enemy positioned in a slighty different position and your next attack might miss, in this case you will have to change the order/improvise or the combo will break

I would say that's because Vergil is more friendly to the average player since he is overall simpler than Dante, and he feels really cool as well. Dante has a "barrier" that you must overcome first before enjoying playing with him. I remember my first time playing with him, he felt so overwhelmingly complicated that I couldn't enjoy Back then, my favorite was Vergil because it was easy to feel cool, but over time, I got better at the mechanics of the game, like jump canceling, and switched to Dante. Since then, I only play with him.
If you wanna do this kinda combos, you need to find the logic in it. Most people might think watching this "oh ok, just need to swap weapons and styles as fast as I can" but that would be useless. Once you know which attacks launches, which smash the enemies to the ground and which are useful too keep your combo you can kinda put everything together like a puzzle, the rest is just creativity and fun.
I think it'd be cool to see an Online Vs mode for DMC but they won't fight each other. Both players will be given a dummy they have to combo. The better the combo the higher the score. The one with the higher score wins. You can also implement something like penalize too many launchers or simple 3 hit combos so players don't loop something over and over again. Add something like trying to shoot your opponent's dummy to mess up their combo for that chaotic multiplayer element. This could be good

because of this franchise i manifest a habit of tweaking the difficulty much harder for me to make a coolass combat in almost every game i play
