one of these days the plot armour's gonna wear off and it's gonna be Bayonetta 3 all over again. that franchise and DMC are two of the few that actually BENEFIT from plot armour.

Glad you played first the original games, but you should give it a try to DmC because, even with the shitty story and characters, the gameplay and bossfights are absolutely cool and with a great soundtrack too
Most of these come just as much out of the blue when you have the full context. Dante is given the hat and he suddenly starts dancing. Lady comes in on a motorcycle, doesn't speak or look at Dante, sees him for the first time, thinks he's a human... and shoots a rocket at him for no reason, and then he surfs on it. Agnus is saying his line and Dante suddenly appears and has this theatralic... whatever exactly that was.
I love how it isnt super awkward like Kingdom Hearts out of context usually is. Even someone who hasnt played these games can still tell a lot of these are intentionally stupid and its great.
That's cause kingdom hearts has alot of deep story stuff that you have to understand before watching those cutscene which makes them feel funny without it where as Dmc is just being dumb cause it's fun either way both videos are hilarious and series can be hilarious.

That's cause kingdom hearts has alot of deep story stuff that you have to understand before watching those cutscene which makes them feel funny without it where as Dmc is just being dumb cause it's fun either way both videos are hilarious and series can be hilarious.

As someone who has never played a single second of any Devil May Cry game- actually, as someone who barely knows what Devil May Cry is in the first place, this video is fucking hilarious. Dante? Is it? The Long-Lost Jackson brother? he's my favourite now. Do I know who he is? No, no but I don't need to. His hat and his absolute mind-boggling ability to make anything look cool no matter how lame it honestly _should_ be is just so impressive that I've decided it: he is my favourite Devil May Cry character.

yep community is mostly chill. i'd argue that the games can be rough at times with some cryptic level designs (*cough* dmc1 mission 17, dmc 3 mission 18). the series doesn't shy away from humor and that's one of the reasons i love it
