Come and share a stunning morning of Landscape Photography at the beautiful and idyllic Crummock Water #lakedistrict #landscapes #landscapephotography #cumbria #crummock
Beautiful pano and the last shot through the trees was awesome. Sigh, another photographer to follow, I miss so many emails due to CZcams notifications 😎
Thank you for the video! I came to your channel on the advice by Nigel Danson. I’m only at the beginning of the photographer’s path (2 years) :))) I dream to take pictures of landscapes breathtakingly
Another great vid Stuart. I love the realism about your style, no hype or exaggeration, it encourages a patience-pays-best and persistence approach to landscape photography, there are no short cuts to excellence like you’d think by watching some vloggers.
Enjoyed this Sean, I mean Stu, getting the hang of vlogging pretty quickly I see. One slight disappointment, no crocs in this one. Keep em coming mate.
Another great video Stuart. As for B roll, I find a lot of photography vloggers using it a bit too much now. I really don;t need to see you taking your camera out of your bag, and setting up a tripod, in slo-mo. Great to highlight the location, but less is more. :-)
Cheers Paul yep I think that’s what I was getting at in the video - it’s obviously necessary to a point though as a viewer I found slow motion stuff of shutting a car boot or setting a camera up utterly pointless. I’m kind of trying to ‘get out of the way’ a little bit and let the photography and landscape do the talking as much as possibly without obviously being anonymous
Just subbed m8. Lovely images Stuart and I do think the one in the woods was very nice and all the time I have walked through them I've never looked back at the view but that might be that I,ve never had a camera lol.
Great vlog. It’s a cracking spot, one of my favourite areas to shoot in. I’ve never seen the water level so low though. I’ve walked past those trees many times but never thought to have a look for a shot in them. The tree shot is excellent, completely made by the light.
If your B Roll helps is used to help tell the story, and set the scene it works well and is welcome. If its just random filler clips, it can detract. Great work again Stuart - that light really brings those trees alive
Great compositions at a beautiful location. Regards to b-roll, shoot plenty, time depending, better to have more than you need than not enough, you then have more choices come to editing
Nice vlog, brought back some lovely memories. I 'discovered' Crummock Water probably 20 years ago after shooting the lone tree etc at Buttermere. The walk through the trees and coming out to the shore of the lake just blew me away - the sunrise lighting up the distant mountains was magical and something I will never forget. I never ventured much further than the rocky promontory and trees that you see to your right. I found it quite difficult to get a good composition for some reason. I'm just getting back into photography after a long break and from what I see on CZcams the Lakes are a different place now, with so many photographers about
Thanks Ian, yep both this and Buttermere are stunning places. The lakes itself will always be popular with photographers I guess, landscape photography’s really taken off with the popularity of Instagram these days, it’s the cool and fashionable thing for many to be outdoors in beautiful places
Enjoyed this one Stuart too. What a nice relaxing way to spend a few hours. I’ve not visited the very foot of Crummock, and will have to make sure I do at some point. Looking forward to your next offering 😊
Cheers Kev yeah photography wise the north end gets little traffic but is well worth a look, the view up the lake is as good as any in the lakes for me
Great video and images Stu! I spoke to you in your shop in February when we had the awful rainy weather and talked about how high the water level was. The water was up to the road in most places. It’s crazy how quickly things have changed.
Yep always baffles me, as good as anywhere really. Suspect it would be more popular if Buttermere wasn’t next door but it can carrying on staying quiet for me 😂
Hi Adam - I don't bracket them generally unless there's a large dynamic range to overcome, 30-40% overlap between frames and make sure head is level. L-bracket I'd say is essential though
Great work again mate, loved the pano - only been there once and know exactly what you mean about those trees - you think there's definitely a shot there, but finding a composition is bloody difficult !! 👍🏻
Great video, keep them coming. I can see you becoming a big hitter in the world of landscape photography if your first 2 vlogs are anything to go by! I fully intend to stick around on this channel and draw inspiration from you 👍
Thanks for your video! Love your photography. As an amateur, your video and other colleagues of you made me come to the lakes with a campervan (next week!). It's quite busy as most of the campsites are telling me... do you have any recommendations regarding parking to walk with a campervan, I hope to be able to get to the nice locations walking ...
I need to visit there again after watching that, I was there just before lockdown mainly to shoot the boat looking up the lake (which is gone now typical 🤣) can you walk the edge of the lake to get to where you were?
Hi Craig if you mean as a circular walk you can yes though it would take a long time Crummock is deceptively large, there’s a NT car park just past Loweswater which gives easier access to here, following the line of the river for about 10-15mins on a well marked path
@@StuartMcGlennon cheers Stuart I took the Mrs to Buttermere and she loves that walk so wouldn't mind doing a similar one, but where you were they I will do alone, look forward to the next vlog 👍
Another great video Stuart,I personally like videos without loads of b roll, always comes across as false to me.keep doing as your doing more honest & real.
Lovely videography and images Stuart
Cheers mate 👍
A beautiful morning Stuart. Great to have the place to yourself too.

Nice one, enjoyed that. I've not explored Crummock Water that much, only ever stuck to the southern end, so thanks for showing it off so well!
Cheers mate yeah it’s gets a bit neglected the top end, well worth a look
the photos are brilliant, def going here next year
👍
Beautiful pano and the last shot through the trees was awesome. Sigh, another photographer to follow, I miss so many emails due to CZcams notifications 😎

Final image a banger in my book. Well done, Stuart. Love the vlogs.
Thanks mate
Superb light and conditions again Stu, and another great vlog mate. Look forward to the next one 👍
Thanks pal was really pleased to get that last one as I’ve walked past that spot a zillion times and not seen that shot
Stuart McGlennon aye light on that was superb, it would be boring if we got ideal conditions every time mate 😀
Was there never saw your woodland photo, too busy walking further round to get a view up the lake towards Buttermere. Good shot👍
Thanks Stephen

Cheers pal thanks for watching - yep I want to keep it as realistic as possible

Cheers Phil yeah it’s one that has escaped me loads of times until that morning
"Too many reflections" a saying you will never hear in the North of Scotland, ever! Another bonnie lake with some good light, good stuff.
Cheers pal, don’t mind a nice reflection just end up going a bit cross eyed if you stand there shooting them all day 😂 cheers for watching pal
Fantastic start Stuart! Looking forward to watching more of your adventures and seeing your beautiful work!
Thanks Kelley 👍
Beautiful bit of b-roll zooming through the trees, just after you mentioned about it. And love that closing image!
Thanks Claire much appreciated yes the drones been a great addition for creative b-roll
You know where you keep saying 'I'll just spin you around so you can see it'... That's where the b-roll comes in perfectly 😉 Loved the pano 😀
Thanks Gary yep noted, first two were filmed quite close together so hopefully I’ll have learned with b-roll soon lol
Great vlog. It’s a cracking spot, one of my favourite areas to shoot in. I’ve never seen the water level so low though. I’ve walked past those trees many times but never thought to have a look for a shot in them. The tree shot is excellent, completely made by the light.
Cheers Glyn yeah the water level is a bit alarming, really could do with some rain even if it’s only for a week
Another great vlog, loved the 15 shot pano and the woodland shot at the ens was a belter
Thanks very much Malcolm
Really enjoyed your second vlog mate, well done for getting up for sunrise at this time of year, the light looked great, fantastic pano 👍
Cheers Chris yeah it’s brutal this time of year, I tend to just look at them as nightshift jobs and sleep when I get home!
If your B Roll helps is used to help tell the story, and set the scene it works well and is welcome. If its just random filler clips, it can detract. Great work again Stuart - that light really brings those trees alive
Thanks very much Jamie yep I’m finding I still need more lol I’ll get there
Great compositions at a beautiful location. Regards to b-roll, shoot plenty, time depending, better to have more than you need than not enough, you then have more choices come to editing
Cheers Russ thanks for watching 👍 yep going to be shooting plenty in future

Cheers Alex yeah it’s all change, could really do with a few days rain as it’s very low at the moment
Love the lakes. Love just getting away from my daily grind up there. Your videos are Good so far.
Cheers Daniel thanks for watching 👍
That ‘just in case’ pano was beautiful Stuart, as were the others! Great vlog - keep em coming.
Cheers Drew yeah it ended up being better than the two that proceeded it lol
Once again bud, a great vlog. As you say, strange how Crummock is not on the photo radar as such. Well done bud, keep it up, really really good.
Yep always baffles me, as good as anywhere really. Suspect it would be more popular if Buttermere wasn’t next door but it can carrying on staying quiet for me 😂
Another great video, would be great to see how you set up and execute your pano's. Do you bracket each frame, I imagine it could get complicated?
Hi Adam - I don't bracket them generally unless there's a large dynamic range to overcome, 30-40% overlap between frames and make sure head is level. L-bracket I'd say is essential though
Great work again mate, loved the pano - only been there once and know exactly what you mean about
those trees - you think there's definitely a shot there, but finding a composition is bloody difficult !! 👍🏻
Thanks Mike yeah there’s some very attractive shapes in there that are very eye catching, hopefully I’ve found one with that last shot
Great video, keep them coming. I can see you becoming a big hitter in the world of landscape photography if your first 2 vlogs are anything to go by! I fully intend to stick around on this channel and draw inspiration from you 👍
Thanks Lloyd appreciate your comment 👍👍

Brave man flyin that drone through the trees. 😂
Nah I totally know what I’m doing 😂 cheers for watching Bob

Cheers Gary thanks for your feedback - yes I’m the same I’m probably going to continue what doing regards the amount of it and just refine it a bit
No pointless B-roll - well done, but you're not a proper CZcams photographer until you've got a dog or start doing comedy routines. Just saying.
Haha cheers, I'll settle for being a proper photographer
