A short film looking at sport and faith and what the Bible has to say about sport. A great way to explain the gospel to sports people.

Let me tell you why we do it.
Because we were born to play. Because it’s in our blood and in our bones. Because God gave us talents, passions and opportunities, and when we’re playing sport, we know we were made for this.
Yet we spoil it. We don’t play the way God wants us to. We so often use sport to serve ourselves: to earn love, identity, glory, security, success, approval for ourselves. We rejected God, we try to replace Him and face the consequences.
But God loved us and reached out to us. He showed his unique love through his son Jesus, who lived among us, who died for us so we can be forgiven, to free us from our sin. Who rose up from death and offers us new life, a new relationship with God, for everyone who returns to Him.
That’s why there’s a new way to play. Wherever we are, whatever our sport, we remember God’s love for each one of us. We remember the new life he’s called us to. And now we play with joy and freedom the sport we were born to play.

Of course it's a matter of conscience, and Christians will come to differing conclusions, especially when it comes to combat sports. We wrote an article on combat sport specifically that you may find helpful to read or pass on to anyone else thinking this issue through: christiansinsport.org.uk/resources/can-god-be-glorified-in-violent-sport/

Your identity and value is not found in the sport you play but it is found in the love God has for you and what he did on the cross of calvary through the free gift of salvation that Jesus Christ offers. It is the undeserving privilege of being used by God to proclaim the name of Jesus in the midst of opposition. That is the best thing about it. You belong to Jesus, not to the world of sport's as a whole.❀Jesus is king. He gifted you the talent you have, and what you do with your talent in glorifying his name is a gift back to him. God bless you all.đŸ™đŸŒ
