  • Empathy is generally understood as the ability to put yourself in someone else’s shoes, to see things from their perspective. If we simplified this definition of empathy into a math equation, it would be E=P, Empathy=Perspective. However, this equation for resolving conflict in relationships is incomplete. Deji Akingbade’s talk offers insights on how we might expand the empathy equation to focus on both receiving and giving empathy, and challenges listeners to rethink empathy in their own lives and the world. Deji Akingbade is an experienced business leader and philosopher from Dallas, Texas. He is a mentor and loves to share his business and philosophical insights with others via his LinkedIn newsletter. When not working, Deji likes to spend his time being active or watching old 80’s action movies. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

Very Inspiring! This is the best TedX talk so far. Loved listening to Mr. Akingbade’s speech about empathy and perception as I will be applying this in my daily life.
Hope we can get more of this content!
