    Hello, thank you for your comments and sharing your insightful experience as well as your recommendations. I have the opportunity to travel to Puerto Viajo as a tourist and I agree with you it is a paradise where you go with the tropical and exuberant Caribbean flow. Hard working and humble people who offer the experience to visitor and locals, they take care of us as well as the exquisite traditional Caribbean local food. Flora and fauna are astonishing. National parks are a magical experience. Love you all, God has blessed us with such amazing place.

    Thank you for this! I spent 6 months in Tama back in 2018 and my son (14yr old) and I are returning December 2020. I was going back and forth on where we should settle down in Costa Rica for quite sometime. I work from home, so internet and activities for my son where the determining factors. We decided on Dominical, I figured it would be the best for all that we want. Cooler climate, decent internet, and tons of activities all within a hour. Soooooo excited to be back to living that Pura Vida lifestyle!

    How far inland from Puerto Viejo do you have to travel in order to have a rise in elevation where the temperature is cooler?

    • @blackexpatslivinglifeabroa1178
      @blackexpatslivinglifeabroa1178  Před 4 lety +3

      Actually I don't know. We live 5 1/2 hrs away. The elevation starts quite close to the beach tho. You can check it out when you are there. I never investigated cooler weather always figured it was gonna be hot no matter what! LOL

    Go to Nicaragua. You get pretty much the same as CR and mich more. Nicaragua is the largest country in Central America. That means we have the biggest lakes and islands along with the biggest volcanoes and Cathedral churches. Lots of beaches and English-speaking nicaraguans on the Caribbean coast where we have a thriving Afro-Caribbean reggae/calypso movement. Top destinations for scuba diving and snorkeling found in Corn Islands. Worldwide famous naturalist painting movement found in Solentiname Islands. Activa lava lake in Volcan Masaya, a rarity worldwide. Colonial cities like León and Granada with lots of history. Nicaragua has been a top destination since California's gold rush in the 1850s. We have an established off-the-beaten-path for foreigners and Travellers alike. Remember, this is where the original Canal was supposed to be not in Panama. Bosawas is the largest rainforest outside the Amazons in the Americas. Nicaraguan laws make it so much easier to start a business and for expats and foreigners to have a job here. CR makes it nearly impossible for foreigners to work. Plus, nicaraguans love travelers and foreigners unlike many Costa Ricans. The difference between us and CR is we have similar standard of living for much, much cheaper. For $1,500 a month you live like a king! Message me or add me on IG @casagardenia22 for more information...

      @@Sandy-xm2mp have you visited Nicaragua recently? Please do so if you haven't but seen a lot of negative news. The Middle East is a war zone yet millions of people visit Israel and are undeterred despite the ongoing war with Hezbollah, Fatah, Hamas, Iran, etc. Trust me, Nicaragua is just a country with a lot of negative news rep. Most people live a HAPPY lifestyle in Nicaragua

      Thanks for your comment. Actually, since I know them personally, they weren't disappointed at all. They enjoyed their time there. Mostly they were trying to point out some things that don't often get talked about. Many people who move to Costa Rica think it is a total paradise, especially the beaches. It's just like living anywhere, sometimes after u live someplace you want to explore something else. So just a few things folks might want to consider before deciding to move. No place is perfect.
