- I am playing Undertale for the first time, I am blind to everything after Papyrus' Spaghetti Date! This episode we make our way through New Home, and our told the story of what happened in the past. Asriel met a tragic fate, following in the footsteps of his brother. Asgore and Toriel had very different coping mechanisms.

13:25 Yeah, it's a particular design choice, which not always repays, but the music in that point is cut so that it perfectly alines with the story only if you go through that point with "normal" speed, without lingering too much. Done that way, the music hits just the perfect tones in the right moments. But if you take too much time, it ends before you're finished and what's left afterwards is an awkward silence. Again, it's a peculiar design choice which doesn't always repay.

The corridor with the tale of the monsters and the music "Undertale" is probably my favorite part of the game. Even after watching HUNDREDS of gameplays (without exaggerating), it still moves me a little.
From one point, it's mostly a bunch of exposition about a character that wasn't even hinted to exist before of that point (I mean, if you exclude something you couldn't really connect to him, the voice after falling in the trash zone), but the music and the timing of the monsters' tale is so perfectly alined that it becomes so powerful.
We're in the endgame now... The story told in new home never fails to make me feel the same somber feelings I got first time I heard it, and the judgement of sans always sends a chill up my spine.
It, along with all the end game pacifist content, hits SO much harder on subsequent playthroughs imo

I love how the coffin with your chosen name takes on a completely new meaning after you've seen the true pacifist ending

Dude I’ve been waiting for this episode since you first started. Legit had such a blast watching this! Asgore is such an incredibly complex character and seeing the somber tones of the capital combined with the tragedy of Asriel as well as Asgore’s own remorse is such a tense yet beautiful part of the game. And that ending… I’m so incredibly hyped for the next part!
(Also, just wanna say, this might be my favorite playthrough of the game tbh. Your reactions to everything, your thoroughness, just the overall vibe, I’ve enjoyed it so much. So thank you for making these videos. I always get hyped whenever I see another part pop up in my notifications)

Music Trivia Time: The song playing in Asgore's house is named Undertale, and is made out of the statue music box theme, Memory, and the opening cutscene theme, Once Upon a Time. Remember the topic of the story, it will be part of the test later. Asgore's boss fight theme is made out of Bergentrückung, the theme that plays right at the start of his fight, as well as the boss themes of both Undyne and Toriel.

You could’ve actually killed Asgore without ruining the true pacifist ending since he dies anyway and you don’t get any EXP for beating him.
