- McLaren’s new supercar is here. Rory reviews the new 750S in both coupe and spider forms on road and on track to assess whether it’s a worthy replacement for the 720S, and to gauge whether it can hold a candle to more modern supercars like the Ferrari 296 GTB.

1389kg in 2023 is INSANE, well done McLaren !
Porsche did the same with the 911 ST
porsche is no where near in power to weight ratio haha. look at the gt3rs. much less power much more weight. @@AB-fr2ei
@@kritische4920Well at least Porsche build reliable cars unlike McLaren. It’s ok having a super light car but if it doesn’t work, it doesn’t matter 😂
@@135eddySorry, but Porsche reliable? Which ones, since when? Look at reliability of their 1st gen Cayennes...
im a porsche fan and i know how good porsche is but they have not enough power and too heavy in my opinion. mclaren is not on a level of perfection as porsche is. but they are not as bad as you think. on a track i would take mclaren any day@@135eddy
Definitely will need a gigantic sticker saying : “750s not 720s”
The rear has different exhausts compared to the 720s. But that's really the only exterior difference.
@@snakeeyes9246 Look at the front splitter, and other design ques more closely. IT'S DIFFRENT.
If it aint broken dont fix they will see the difference when they get gap lol
@@dominicancashBut what if its a tuned 720s
@@Jallu555 - I had a tuned 720S spider and a stock 765LT spider. The impact of the gearing in the 765 is more noticeable than the tune on the 720S in every day driving. The steering rack and front end turn in on the 765t were much better and easily noticeable vs my 720S spider. The 750S has the gearbox, rear end, and steering rack from the 765 LT. I think the driving experience of the 750S will be better than a tuned 720S. My 750S spider is in transit to me now. Excited as heck.
This man’s reviews are getting so much better. I love the pure honesty of the review, the details of the car, and how beautifully he talks about the dynamics of the chassis balance. Video production is now world class. Well done. Keep it up.
I second this. I wasn't a fan before with many jokes or anecdotes that just missed me, but this review is so so much better. Used to go to other review channels but now feels like he's narrowed his presenting style down a lot more and its amazing.
I just love Rory’s reviews. So enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and a great communicator. So easy to see that he loves what he does, and I’m sure glad he brings us along for the ride. Thank you!
Nothing like a Rory certified car review. Get a new 750S CHECK! Thanks Mate
True, but ill take a Chris Harris one over this.
@@Resist_Oppression Nah 🤣🤣🤣
With BHP being easy to achieve today, the new battle ground is KG. Well done McLaren!
But after 720s comes the 765 and now back to 750s it's a little confusing
@@ormanche 765 was the limited version of the 720. 750 is the successor of the 720
@@ormanche Explain Porsche 911 models to me please, oh and Ferrari...and while you're at it Lamborghini would help me out a lot as well. Sorry, you were saying.
@@ormanche it's just how McLaren name their cars. They have the standard supercar, then the long tail version within a generation. The 750s is an amalgamation of tech from both the 720s and 765lt (which is a far more limited run car). I can't help but feel that the 750s is just McLarens way of being able to bring that tech to a more mass production car without impeding on the prestige of the 765lt (I doubt we'll get a 795lt or whatever) before they eventually move to the 800 series in the next year or so.
Rory, you deserve to be recognized as the best of the best. Thank you so much for always providing with such stellar content.
I just can never get tired of watching your races Rory...excellent work man.
Really think Autotrader has come a long way and the content and presenters are great. Im sure Rory is glad his Top Gear days are behind him and can be proud of what he's achieved and accomplished. Hes both engaging and rewarding to watch.
Also, I learnt things in this review that werent mentioned on other reviews.
Keep up the great content Autotrader and look forward to 2024 and a million plus subscribers.
He did confuse ps with hp though.
Your content is amazing, your camera crew are doing an epic job and the editing team is puting their final touche what an incredible video thank guys keep up the good work
OMG @ 1:18 that is the benefit of the new fuel pump and Tune from the factory. Glorious. Good job you on this review as always!
Rory and the team produce such good content! Let’s get them to 1M subscribers!
The production quality is just out of this world, amazing review aligned with amazing colour grating. Your 13 minutes felt in heaven!!!
Amazing Content as usual Rory. You deserve more views honestly from the quality you put out
Bruv, just call it what it is; a facelift.
barely at that
All we needed ! Thank you guys
Never thought Autotrader would be doing Top Gear type of segments. Kudos though very well put together!
I'm Always smiling when the king RORY Is behind the steering wheel I'm enjoying this !!!
I love your McLaren videos. Some great photography tooi! Such a beautiful car. sports car.
Very very high quality video! Well done!
so nice to know the car testing was in Lisbon, Estoril Track. Where F1 used to have their races I believe early 90's. For some reason they no longer get the races done in that track anymore.
The ending scene leading on to the credits is just perfect!
WOW ...........1:18 part from this video is blazing amazing...Loved it
Loving your videos and content mate ❤.
Well done Rory, Senna would be proud of your driving hehehe. Portugal has awesome roads and this video just shows how awesome it is to drive a beast like this. Well done Mclaren.
Until McLaren match Ferrari’s 7 yr free servicing and 5 yr warranty I’m not sure there are enough brave souls to be tempted. It will be an amazing car to drive and I’d love another McLaren but having had 5 already and lost enough money on them to buy a significant 5 bed detached house I won’t be going there again. The stories of five figure servicing costs and costly failures are legendary. Oh, and for reference my 675LT gearbox packed up at 800 miles, my 720s had engine/transmission failure on delivery and my 600LT had rust on the wheel arches after only 15 months! Come on McLaren, have the guts to back your product and at least match Ferrari’s aftersales support otherwise the residual values will remain shocking and all but the wealthiest owners will be ‘once bitten, twice shy’!
Dayum enough money to having 5 Mclarens already, living rich poch english life eh? 😎
Issues on delivery from any product, let alone cars, let alone a supercar, is a bit of a joke. And I didn’t think rust even existed these days!
Didn't really have to make a new name, really could've just been the 2024 720s
i love your reviews and i will love to see you do a review on Mercedes AMG GLE63S coupe
Rory's reviews have so much drama...right to the end. That last slow mo of the drift...left us hanging...just epic!
Turbo slap like Will Smith
In love all over again I loved the 765lt but I think I need a go in that for prospect
Stunning in both looks and weight...💎👍
Rory could you do a video comparing the differences between the major sport cars like McClaren vs Ferrari vs Lamborghini vs Porsche? Basically what are they known for as car makers. Love your show/ channel Cheers
Great reviewer - The BEST, the GOAT!
The sound on that engine 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Great review as always
ALWAYS great overviews on cars this man test drives … The car is fantastic…. And it’s British ….. IF this car had the electric motor on startup it would take off …. That’s to come no doubt …?? Incredible vehicle…..
The new benchmark supercar! Love the 750s coupe.
Seeing this video on the mountain where I live hits different!! Hope you enjoyed my beautiful roads of Serra de Sintra!
Outstanding Review!
Those wheels on the Spider are amazing
Where was the spider part of the video filmed please? The roads are gorgeous!
Rory is definitely a father the way he says, "Slaps!" 😂
Love your videos good job!
Great review !
Rory is always great!
Great review. Great car. Still don’t like those headlight shapings tho
I see many comments about the lack of a major visual update. Personally, I think this might be a solid decision by McLaren. For years they were releasing so many new cars and designs/year that it hurt the brand IMO. I have grown to love the 720-line look, and I think it's a solid move to stop making their cars obsolete a couple of months after introduction. Look at the 911, it still looks similar decades later and still holds it's value very well. Mc was taking the opposite approach for many years, I thing this 720 evolution will help the brand and resale values.
Now they just have to address their poor warranty and service reputation as well. I love these cars, but every time I considered buying a used 720s (and I do still want one), the thought of it ever breaking and being out of warranty is very sobering!
With all that said, if I were in the financial position to buy a car like this brand new today (and didn't care about what it meant tomorrow), I would absolutely consider the 750s... It's a fantastic all around car and I love that they've tricked down some of the best 765LT bits.
2:56 where is this road please? It looks amazing.
Beautiful, well done.
4:14 IT SLAPsSsS! 👌🏾
3:49 definitely one of the more impressive carplay with discrete time display technology
The convertable sounds SOO good i was never such a big fan of the mclaren sound in general but that one sounds really nice and sharp specially with the roof down also the 30hp is not really anything lol
On paper it’s not. But the difference between the 720S and 765LT is bigger than claimed in reality, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it was the same between the 720S and 750S.
@@projectr2451 To be fair, the 765lt has more than 100hp over the 765 hp according to dyno results on top of shorter gears. I doubt McLaren would give the 750s the same treatment, being a successor and not an LT. Plus it would put Mclaren in a tight spot for the LT version of the 750s since they'd have to (even more) drastically underreport hp figures
@@riptiide9285
Everyone said that about the 765LT. That it would put the LT in a tight spot because of the Senna. And yet the 765LT still makes more power than the Senna and is still considerably quicker in a straight line.
The 750S may not be as powerful as the 765LT, but I doubt the difference between the 720S and 750S is as small as McLaren suggest.
That 750S is easily producing over 800hp, and I’d guess somewhere around the 845-850hp mark. And the LT model will most probably be called the 800LT and come with roughly the same power as the P1.
@@riptiide9285 It's 0.7 seconds quicker to 200 km/h than 720s. That's a massive difference.
@@projectr2451so the Lt version of the 750s gone be made ?
Yes compare it with 2012 Aventador , what about Revelto ?
hi Rory, what's the hoodie you wear and where I can get it ? btw you are a really nice person and do a great job 😊👍
I wonder if the connecting rods have been upgraded.
No hybrid, no batteries.
Just a pure orchestra of eight cylinders.
All whilst weighing less than 1,400kg.
Sensational stuff, McLaren💪🏻
Rory, you deserve to be recognized as the best of the best)))
Thanks!
Rory is the king of reviews
Improved connecting rods? Better software?
Mclaren or Rory's hoodie? I'm takin that damn hoodie!😂❤
Agreed - Details, Rory!
Cool for car boys
Love it
@3:48 Look at the lag on that screen flipping eck. It's unacceptable.
Rory has the best job ever!!
Portland, JAMAICA in the Building!!! 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
do you have the number of breakdowns per year?
Ordered mine already
The only update that is great, no more dumb foldable display! Just a simple one, that looks good to!
Rory, “and i can confirm, it slaps.” ❤ 4:17
One of the few modern supercars I would buy, mostly because of the looks. Wish they'd make an N/A or supercharged engine instead though, even if the performance wouldn't be as good. And a stick would be fun.
That silver looks unbelievable
Woow Absolutly its Amazing Video for Auto Enthusiasts Peeps
Rory is awesome 🎉 However… What’s with the turbo “lag” definition these days. Any reporters ever addressed when this changed…?
You've sold it to me, I'm ordering my new Hot Wheels version now 👍🏼
Brilliant. But isn't it better to just get a 765LT for the cooler badges?
Are they still offering them? What's the price point of the two... The LT was a limited run, and more expensive now.
7:55 Gregory Porters turn ha ha.
2:59 idk, that front bumper is a massive improvement to me
Cant wait to see the 765LT successor!
Best supercar reviewer!
Beautiful car! But USB A, wired Apple CarPlay and that infotainment screen? McLaren need to get with the times with their technology.
Good job it is light so it is easier to push onto the back of a recovery truck when it breaks down.
Incredible!
I’m sold!!!
When will the 795lt or 800lt come?
what an improvement , but 765 spider for me ,
Love it want one
dude the next LT is going to "slap" as Rory says
Can you do a review on the build quality
Sheesh
Surely a 9 sec car in the 1/4 on prepped
Can only imagine what the LT will be like
These guys really made a good car finally ! 🎉
actually I was thinking of waiting to get the '795LT'.
nice car though
Recorded in portugal... nice
Yup! Definitely My SuperCar of Choice, 750 S Spyder!!!
Why are McLaren cars least popular, refined and non reliable compared to other high end GT’s (Porsche, Aston Martin, etc.)
I have seen a lot of videos where the McLaren owners are not at all satisfied with their cars.
An update for an already superb vehicle❤
I like how they made all those changes for 30hp when people were making like 800 wheel from a tune on a 720s (I could be wrong)
Yeah but tuned 720s don't run
@@720sobsessed6 they don’t run stock either
@@walkerwoods6104 0 issues on a stock 720 over the last 4 years, and 99 percent of the owners I speak to concur.
@@720sobsessed6 mine doesn’t run (because I don’t have one)
This car is likely close to 750 to the wheels STOCK given the performance delta. Both well under rated.
Those front tires are on the thin side but rest of the car is epic
How does this compare to the 765?
All the bolts tight?
How does it compare to the Atura really?
