- Ever since I saw this machine on www.soundtapewereld.nl I have wanted one, by chance I spotted a friend selling some machines on Ebay and he explained the owner of this machine was downsizing, after an offer was accepted on this and a Philips EL3509, they were shipped over on a pallet, I was surprised to find this machine weighs 40KG! The machine required a little work to get it running again, the main issue was the belt has liquefied.
It is a wonderful machine, very well built. Thanks for sharing the video.

I've got also 3 of these top deck's. 2 are in very good condition and the last one needs a service ! And i have also the Original nab hub's servicemanual and Cine adapters :)

Seblington . Good morning. I know what you mean about the counter. I don't have some spare parts from this deck the third one will be rebuild to. 2 of my deck's the counter doesn't work also and one has a working counter. It works with a kind of spring that is connected with the the roller on the right of this deck. Send me please your email adres then i make a photo of it. I'm gonna try to make with a smaller spring i buy to fix the other counters of my deck's to. You're telling in you're video that your deck is 2 track is it really because with the light knobs on youre Vu meter panel normally it's a twintrack and not fully compatible with the really 2 track systems. But it is possible of course that the headblock was change.Startup time is normal it has a havy flywheel so on 15 ips it needs time to running up.
Hello there great video and machine I have a question I aquired a tascam 32 reel to reel and was wondering two things first can the speeds be slowed down from 7.5 and 15 i p s to 3 . 3/4 to 7.5 i p s and second can the heads be changed from two track to four track heads to make it from a two track stereo to a four track stereo deckthank youand love the collection and videos
I need HELP because I juste bought a splendid recorder reel to reel PHILIPS N4416 but when I push on "PLAY" it is not running!!!! What may I do to repair? Thanks for your advice.

It was the same size as the belt used on the Teac X-1000R, plenty for sale out there

I have to admit, I dont like philisp domestic machines with a few exeptions, but their pro stuff is something else.
