I had diverticulitis a few years back. It started with a bloated constipation sort of feeling then had severe abdominal pain and ran a 102F fever. I drove myself to the ER thinking I had appendicitis. The way they found out was to do a CT scan with contrast--having to dye every half hour for 3 hrs. Finally got better with antibiotics. Thankfully mine was acute and went away in a few weeks

I've had diverticulitis for about 10 years. I stay away from seeds and nuts particularly, in my case they will more than likely or not cause an outbreak.
"Gas"pills dont help, alka seltzer does, cannibis helps the most. Your diet is the key, however, if you have other ailments as I do, some of the recomended foods can cause other problems... you can't ignore it, that's for sure! Years ago, I got Beaver Fever, that was the most similiar feeling or illnes I would compare it to. The pain I experience is far worse than when I had appendicitis! It can be incredibly painful, my last attack (no doc) lasted 8 days of almost constant pain! Those memories inspire you to monitor your diet! LOL LOL Good luck

Going through my second severe attack in less than a year. Was prescribed Ciprofloxacin and Metronidazole for antibiotics, Indomethacin for pain, and Lactulose to help clear me out. This is the absolute worst pain I've ever been in, and I can't stop dry heaving all day. I've been drinking as much water as I can tolerate, and I'm praying I heal soon. Don’t take CIPRO. It’s a very dangerous medication with a black box warning that should only be prescribed as a last resort. Medical providers are too quick to prescribe this and the general public is pretty much unaware of the serious side effects.

I was diagnosed with diverticulitis 2 years ago, and now I have a good sense of when the next flare-up is imminent. It's almost like I can predict it as soon as I consume something that I know I shouldn't. The symptoms include abdominal pain, accompanied by a mild fever, weakness, and an overall feeling of lethargy. To manage the fever, I take Advil and switch to a liquid diet for a minimum of three days. Thankfully, by the third or fourth day, I usually start to feel better. I've noticed that the key to avoiding such episodes, at least in my case, is to be extremely mindful of my dietary choices.

Well I was rushing myself into a hospital and I was diagnosed with diverticulitis they gave me a course of antibiotic and painkillers because the pain was atrocious and then I forgot about it and then I've had to episode since and these are what I've gone through with all three. I've I was literally undressing on the toilet the cold sweat that I was going through was unbelievable I ended up feeling nauseated and felt like I wanted to throw up when that didn't happen the heat of my body was so intense that I had to go and lay down on the bathroom floor naked just to bring the temperature down. The last time I did that I lost my bowels on the floor there was no blood present in the toilet or on the floor until after I got up and after an hour I'm standing now I'm wondering what the hell happened to cause this Blood to come down and it continued for three days the doctor at the hospital said that he wanted to give me a cortisone suppository which I refuse to take wasn't going to stay up there anyways because of the bleeding what are your thoughts I'm going to see a gastroenterologist again but I thought I'd get a feel for what's going on with a response from you

Is that on the left lower side of the ribs?

Just below the rib. Lower abdomen area, pain can occur in the lower back as well. A tight feeling almost like a muscle cramp in the middle of the chest as well. It's not fun by any means

@@the_darklord5896 yes it's so painful and feel uncomfortable everytime. Also when I urinate is not normal. I will try to have some coconut water and kinchay leaves.

Yes it's on the left side below the ribs..
The first doctor I went to diagnosed it by having me lay down on my back and he slowly pushed down on my left side quite a ways down slowly and then he pulled his hand away quickly and that was very painful, that's when he said I think you have diverticulitis but will do a few more tests to see for sure.

The newest research that you can Google states that those are outdated recommendations. Of course if you notice something that triggers you, absolutely avoid it.
