I really like that the engine is naturally aspirated, the wheels are 18", and the interior is cloth. I have had a bad history with turbocharged vehicles; wheels above 18" are uncomfortable, tires are more expensive to buy, more prone to get sidewall bubbles from potholes if above 18"; and I dislike leather when combined with that style exterior. Shopping between Highlander XSE/XLE hybrid and Passport EX-L/Trailsport and I halted to test drive the Santa Fe XRT at the nearest metropolitan dealer. Drove it yesterday, she and I like it. Have to think this through on an Excel spreadsheet now.
Absolutely stunning!
I hope on the refresh they offer more driver side leg/ thigh room for taller drivers. This is a huge missed opportunity; a sunroof wouldn't hurt either...
Definitely a panoramic moonroof option would complete this trim.
basically the premium version in xrt model would be perfect
They should really offer this trim with the turbo, hopefully they do in the future
This. ^^^
Agree I test drove this, I loved everything about the car except the weak engine and performance. Consumer reports mentions it lagging power which I 100% agree
One year ago today!! Trying to buy it dude.
2022 Hyundai Santa Fe HTRAC AWD with XRT package
and Off-Road test?. Is there a rear axle lock here?.
Running boards are probably needed when you are loading gear onto the roof. Just a thought...
What is the length between the front row seat to the back?
We definitely have had quite a bit of snow in the Lexington area. I've measured right around 20" just this month so far! Hopefully you all got to try this ride out in some of the snow 💯👍
We did! Definitely great having it instead of our usual un-snow-worthy cars haha
Dual exhaust would have been awesome 🔥
I agree with you, the back end would look so nice with dual exhaust. 👌
Looks ok as an update to old jeep Cherokee with weird lights which was copy of Nissan juke weird lights. This huge larger than Honda company does best when they do original designs rather than to copy.
great review as always but going forward can you mention the full tire size for each trim level or put up a quick list on the screen "235 60 18 on the xrt trim"
Thanks! The reason we didn't mention that this time is because we discussed that in our previous Santa Fe review and this one was mostly focused exclusively on the XRT
Great review guys 👍🏽
Thanks! 😁
My Partner uses the new Santa Fe’. He loves those Super Hot Seats on high. I tell him he is numb and has no feelings lol. The A/C is some of the coldest in a modern vehicle. I like this new look but I think knobby tires would help it look even more rugged as an option maybe?
I don't see how he can stand them on high 😂
Nice that you get the full digital gauge cluster.
Ouch, really love the styling and look, but miss the mileage of the hybrid. It's hard to consider settling for regular gas engines after trying out the Hyundai hybrids.
Can a short driver raise the seat high enough?
Side steps look hilarious.
I like your review, nice job as always! Is this car from the manufacturer? I wonder why there is an aftermarket floormat installed.
Thanks! Yes, this was a press vehicle from Hyundai and I wondered the same thing. Maybe parts shortage?
@@CarConfections I don’t think it’s parts shortage! When I questioned my XRT purchase without floor mats and cargo cover, they told me that the vehicle 🚗 didn’t come with those, only the cargo net and cargo mat. So I didn’t fuss with them, I bought everything I wanted online and at a cheaper price and good quality, rather than paying a lot extra for what the dealership calls…options. Stay blessed y’all 😎🇺🇸👍
Nice looking car at a good price. You guys always cover all the bases. If you were to pick between a Ford Bronco and the Hyundai Santa Fe which one would you choose. Thanks. 👍
Thank you! Assuming you mean the Bronco Sport, we would choose probably lean towards the Santa Fe since it's a bit larger and more premium
@@CarConfections Thanks and I forgot to say sport. Our neighbors have a 2021 Santa fe and they really like it. I appreciate your opinion and your reply. You guys really educate yourselves on the cars you review. Thanks 👍
It's a nice vehicle, nice design exterior and interior, but the location for the center armrest is absolutely absurd, even for taller people, its set too far back, what were they thinking??
great review to bad the turbo and 1 or 2 lift was standard
It would look better with a 1" lift and 19" rims, choppers.
So, the XRT is really just another blacked out trim option? Gees, How original!? IDK..It looks more like a street/urban lifestyle than any type of "adventure" designed image you seem to be stating quite often. I don't get it, apparently.
Excellent review!😸
Have a great weekend!
@@CarConfections you too!
Hi Car Confecitions Can You Make Next 2022 GMC Yukon AT4 Walkaround
Dual exhaust would've been nice
My Palisade is in the shop getting fixed so I got this as a loaner. To be honest, I expected a lot more - ride feels a lot clunkier especially at lower speeds (was generally fine in highway speeds) and I feel that the Palisade gets the same or better gas mileage than this (maybe because of the Eco mode that’s available on the Palisade; I typically drive in Smart mode).
I wouldn’t buy this for my personally but maybe I am biased coming from their flagship SUV tbh. I just expected a similar driving experience given I see these on the road all of the time and really just one step down from the Palisade.
You mentioned the seats 💺 being cloth only… sorry my friend, I bought mine in red with the XRT badge on the truck yesterday, and black leather interior and seats. Stay safe and happy holidays 🎉😊
That's one of the 2023 updates! Congrats on your new Santa Fe and Happy Holidays to you also!
I just bought a 2022 xrt in white and it has black leather in the whole car.
Should come standard with 20inch wheels
Very food video well explained
Thanks!
This trim is all hat, no cattle.
Hyundai needs to have a top of the line blacked out trim and be done with it… leave the off road capability to other vehicles.
So you sacrifice niceties and the upgrade motor for what’s basically an off-roady cosmetic package on a vehicle no one will ever take off road. No thanks
The front looks weird to me. Bought Sorento instead.
I almost getting this but found out its assembled in montgomery alabama.also engine and transmission are made in usa. I will stick to my palisade which assembled and all parts made in korea.
These XRT trims are actually important straight from KR
@@Szvftgv really?if so,i will be tempted to trade-in my palisade so i can save on gas.but its just my ego don't like to go downgrade for a smaller or cheaper one.lol.but practicallity,XRT trim is the best choice for santa-fe.i like the calligraphy but its TURBO and made in USA.will have lots of lemon if its assembled and parts made in USA.
@@jackcollin1695 yeah, my family has 2 of XRT’s and we are loving it. Dont need to fancy features like leather turbo navigations or sunroof. It has all the safety features already.
@@Szvftgv yes i dont need all those.those sunroofs and panoramic are useless and will just add maintenance and issues in the future.may i see the window sticker on your XRT trim?i wanna see if its really assembled and all parts are made in korea.i dont like those limited & calligraphy trims that are assembled and engine+trans made in usa.i dont have issue on my palisade but its just this gas prices getting higher and might go up more due to the war
It looks good though purely cosmetic. The Santa Fe is in need of a facial update to keep in line with the rest of the lineup.
This is the face lifted model. I think its getting a full redesign next year
This package has to be a joke!?!...horrible cloth seats, no real off road upgrades, no sunroof option and you can't get the Harman Kardon speaker system. Why buy this over an SEL version?? Automakers have lost their minds...
What’s with Hyundai and Kia putting their turn signals down below. Stupid decision imo 🤔.
they didn't make it anymore "off road" than the other trims. Just a different shade of lipstick on the same woman
I'm just not a fan of those rear turn signals being so low.
P.S. Carpeted floor mats looked a little WeatherTech to me. 😁
Yeah those were aftermarket lol
Hyundai doesn’t understand this trim offering.
Here’s what to do: keep this front fascia (good job); throw way the side steps (they aren’t usable, they will soil everyone’s left pant leg, they require u to stretch over them. They’re very stupid); turbo engine should be standard; interior is perfect the way it is - just need to pad the right knee rest against the console; the lower outside cladding is poorly designed. More plastic doesn’t mean more cool. Less plastic. 17” wheels should be standard on this trim; it’s a softer ride. 18” optional.
I love the 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe XRT, it’s very nice and great price
This is not a good value considering the competition
IMO, eliminating the nav system, turbo engine and other optional electronics is disappointing. Aesthetically, it looks nice. But the majority of time spent with the SUV is sitting inside. Not having the tech available makes this package no bueno.
And that how fuse shit with shit
Love the content but please do your part for global warming by turning off the engine while explaining tbe outside features
XRT..not SRT
Hyundai is NOT affordable nor is it a value priced car. Hyundai and Kia dealerships put a lot of markup on all their cars pricing it above the competition. Have you tried buying a Kia or a Hyundai lately? They are more expensive than a Toyota or a Honda, but they do not have same reliability those cars are known for.
All dealers are marking up
@@ThisGuyRides exactly. Has nothing to do with Hyundai/Kia.
The only value is the long warranty as brands like Nissan offer more active safety standard.
hyundai and kia reliability is very good. Idk what rock you've lived in.
Hyundai may not have the reliability as Toyota, but they are right there with Honda.
You just have to go to the right dealerships, my dealership only sells at MSRP
35k for a 4cy NA?
Lol.
