I really like that the engine is naturally aspirated, the wheels are 18", and the interior is cloth. I have had a bad history with turbocharged vehicles; wheels above 18" are uncomfortable, tires are more expensive to buy, more prone to get sidewall bubbles from potholes if above 18"; and I dislike leather when combined with that style exterior. Shopping between Highlander XSE/XLE hybrid and Passport EX-L/Trailsport and I halted to test drive the Santa Fe XRT at the nearest metropolitan dealer. Drove it yesterday, she and I like it. Have to think this through on an Excel spreadsheet now.

    Absolutely stunning!
I hope on the refresh they offer more driver side leg/ thigh room for taller drivers. This is a huge missed opportunity; a sunroof wouldn't hurt either...

My Partner uses the new Santa Fe’. He loves those Super Hot Seats on high. I tell him he is numb and has no feelings lol. The A/C is some of the coldest in a modern vehicle. I like this new look but I think knobby tires would help it look even more rugged as an option maybe?

@@CarConfections I don’t think it’s parts shortage! When I questioned my XRT purchase without floor mats and cargo cover, they told me that the vehicle 🚗 didn’t come with those, only the cargo net and cargo mat. So I didn’t fuss with them, I bought everything I wanted online and at a cheaper price and good quality, rather than paying a lot extra for what the dealership calls…options. Stay blessed y’all 😎🇺🇸👍

My Palisade is in the shop getting fixed so I got this as a loaner. To be honest, I expected a lot more - ride feels a lot clunkier especially at lower speeds (was generally fine in highway speeds) and I feel that the Palisade gets the same or better gas mileage than this (maybe because of the Eco mode that’s available on the Palisade; I typically drive in Smart mode).
I wouldn’t buy this for my personally but maybe I am biased coming from their flagship SUV tbh. I just expected a similar driving experience given I see these on the road all of the time and really just one step down from the Palisade.

Hyundai doesn’t understand this trim offering.
Here’s what to do: keep this front fascia (good job); throw way the side steps (they aren’t usable, they will soil everyone’s left pant leg, they require u to stretch over them. They’re very stupid); turbo engine should be standard; interior is perfect the way it is - just need to pad the right knee rest against the console; the lower outside cladding is poorly designed. More plastic doesn’t mean more cool. Less plastic. 17” wheels should be standard on this trim; it’s a softer ride. 18” optional.

Hyundai is NOT affordable nor is it a value priced car. Hyundai and Kia dealerships put a lot of markup on all their cars pricing it above the competition. Have you tried buying a Kia or a Hyundai lately? They are more expensive than a Toyota or a Honda, but they do not have same reliability those cars are known for.
