  • We finally broke out the new John Deere chopper, wagons and baggers! Follow along as we break down the corn chopping process step by step. This was our first day out and we had many learning curves, but the guys figured it out by the end.
We are a family farm located in Northern Ohio and chopping is one of our newest projects. Thanks for viewing!

Hi from Down Under. We did our first year of silage into bags as well. Our bagger you load from the front as you tip the forage into it. It's a lot faster, you still have to move the tiping trailer forward but it's seems to be far quicker than the side method. Also we have a anchor that drags inside the silage in the bag this way we don't have to have winch ropes along the bag. It's originally had winch ropes but has been modified. With each bag we get a plastic ruler which is made of the same plastic as the bags as you showed we lay the ruler over the marks on the bag to get the correct amount. Thanks enjoyed you video only just found your channel.

We set up our unloaded on wagon and feed conveyer with a fiberglass fence post on each. It gave the drivers a better visual representation of where to stop. They make the post touch and they were good they also could see how far up they needed to pull.

A walking floor is another system altogether. In a walking floor you have 'slabs' that move fore and aft in the trailer. All the slabs move at once to shift the entire load, pushing some off the back. Then they retract separately (or walk) so that the load doesn't shift back forward. Once they're all retracted they all extend back again.

That's what I thought, but I never got a clear view of the decal, I knew it was one of the V12's by the dual exhaust, they're a beast for sure, and if you could move the silage fast enough, it could keep 3-4 baggers busy. I'm a recent subscriber, I enjoy your channel, and videos, especially the one showcasing your square bale hay operation, which is impressive, to say the least.
