I'm with you re the fruit Paula.. I like crispy apples and hard crispy pears...I dont like them when they go ripe and they are soft and slimey! Doug is looking amazing to say he is 13. I had a magnificent cat when I was young. We could never decide on a name for him and so he was always called "Cat" he was a half persian but didint have a flat face. He prowled around our garden like a big lion and ruled the roost. He lived to be 22 and the vet said he was the oldest cat he had ever treated. I still miss him.

I weighed a bramley apple in tesco and it was 57pence. I could hardly believe it. Since then I have been given about a dozen Bradley's from a neighbours trees. Now I appreciate how valuable they are.
Here in the US in Washington state where we grow an abundance of fruit, the price for pears is $1.48 per pound or you can get a 3-pound bag for $4.98 or a 2-pound organic bag for $5.76. Now this is at Walmart, our locally owned grocery store will be higher. I think we pay way too much for fruit especially when it is grown all around us.
Groceries are ridiculously priced here now, things don’t go up by a few cents anymore, they increase by 50 cents, a dollar or several dollars. I mostly buy groceries just for myself about once a month then pick up bread and milk and the odd thing as needed, it used to cost me about $180. before Covid but now it’s over $300. So I put a lot of things back these days, they are just greedy, it’s all about the profit now. Makes me so mad👿

I really love Halloween party. Apple bobbing is a game we always played at our childrens birthday parties, but no one ever got murdered, luckily. I just watched the watcher, loved it. And I also love that it is based on a true story.

I'm Canadian. I don't know what a pence is so I googled a conversion chart from British Pence to CAD. It said $152.00. I didn't believe that! I Googled again. This time it said British Pence to CAD$ was .015. Like 1.5 pennies if we still had pennies in Canada. I still have no idea how much the pear cost! I give up! LOL

I take a pear to work and a wad of kitchen roll cos they’re so messy when they’re soft ! I do t like them hard and my favourite apple are cox apples they smell of Christmas to me - them and satsumas lovely xx

I too can’t stand a soft pear or a soft banana! The trouble with pears is a very short time when a pear is perfect to eat, I’m quite fussy about it. 😛
