Hey guys! So I think this is the cutest subscription ever but I am a little worried about one thing! All of the palettes I have received from this brand have looked extremely similar. I think I have 4 from P.Louise now and they all have VERY similar shades. I hope we see some variety going forward! Let me know what you think! Love yađ
Yeah they have better colors just keep hanging on. The next box is a little better. I got peach scent water instead of lime. I love the peach. I wonât spoil your next box but you will see some cool stuff
The thing is that this box is meant for makeup artists to build up their kit, so it's inevitable so get similar stuff. They did a box one with a bunch of blushers in, in a range of shades.
Not glazed donut, glowy glassy skin. Also, I love how you're thinking of the practicality of not swatching all the palettes, and I agree, since there are similar shades, using the smaller one worked beautifully. The formula looks so nice, it's just paying the huge sums of shipping I cannot bring myself to do again, so I've not tried more than the base paints.
I wouldn't mind those shades all the time but I love neutral shades lol I mean if they sent crazy shades yeah they might be cool to have but I would never use them so it would be a waste. Love you †your videos always make me laugh. I hope ur eye recovers from the hairspray lol I've done that with body spray đ
The Birthday line that they just came out with is because of one their corporate heads birthday's (I think that's what I read on their site, anyway)
I think the afternoon tea reference is to the British custom of afternoon tea, which usually includes tea served with small sandwiches and pastries as well as scones served with jam and clotted cream. That would explain strawberry and cream being connected to afternoon tea. Strawberry jam is very common for scones.
Literal whole fresh strawberries & cream is also a massive thing in the summer. As in, they sell out of fresh strawberries and cream at Wimbledon apparently. The tennis tournament, not just the area. I grew up in the UK and one of our favourite summer outings were to the 'Pick Your Own' strawberry fields.

â@@p00231542Clotted cream is very thick. Much thicker than double cream and will sit where you put it without moving because it's so I think.
P. Louise caters towards blending and gradients so alot of their eyeshadow palettes are the same color in 20 different shades so you can create the perfect blend. Every look they post on their Instagram is some sort of gradient. Also they are based in the UK so their makeup caters to that audience and how they like to do their makeup which is mostly very tan skin with dramatic eyes.

Hey, yah, when they have two drawers, I think one is for fair skin tones and the other darker, so the palette will work for anyone. Love these reviews. It's a brand I keep considering and just haven't yet.
P Louise does have some very colorful pallets but I think I saw these boxes are for working MUAâs to build their kits quickly and affordably. Iâve also read the reason the shades are so similar when they give two palettes or a duel palette is bc itâs for fair and deeper skin tones. Which makes sense if itâs for MUAâs.
Afternoon tea is a very British thing with sandwiches and scones - the British type of scones! - with jam and clotted cream, and yes, probably with a pot of tea. The jam is usually but not always strawberry - hence the scent being strawberries and cream.
I look forward to afternoon tea every morning! Cranberry scones with tea is my favourite time of day. Then again we call dinner tea as well or if someone is feeling feisty theyâll bellow âtime to scarn!â! đ€Ł
In the UK, 'Strawberries & Cream' specifically refers to having fresh strawberries and some cream. It's was a traditional treat in the height of summer. Still served at certain events, at astronomical prices. That's what it refers to, as opposed to scones with clotted or fresh cream & jam (surprisingly, very rarely is the jam strawberry, but even if it is - you always say that it's jam or conserve). Not that scones aren't sometimes served with strawberries and cream, but the strawberries are fresh đ

I think I've seen that the budget box is generally aimed toward MUAs who want to build their collection so it makes sense that they're including lots of neutrals and stuff

Plouise products are super cute....the afternoon tea smells like strawberry and cream as an afternoon tea is a thing where you have a pot of tea, finger sandwiches, cakes AND a scone with cream and strawberry jam hence why it's afternoon tea but strawberry and cream flavoured xxx
I checked the P. Louise website after you opened the advent calendar and that's how I learned the pallette had 2 levels. So I got curious and watched other people opening that advent calendar, which I don't usually do, and nobody else seemed to notice the 2nd level in the pallette either, so at least it wasn't just you. I'm absolutely loving the fish theme of this box, I'm a pisces and have a decent sized koi fish tattooed on my upper arm.
I heard someone say that the advent calendar version did only had the one layer

It seems like the budget box is for making like a makeup kit, which sounds like maybe they may be geared towards makeup artists trying to build up their kits. So maybe the two pallets are for helping having colors for more skin tones? So its basically the same, but with variations for other skin colors? I may just be reading too much into it. But all the pallets you've received do look very similar!

You always get the box a month behind (so that was February, which you get near end of March) so your next box will be the March box (which you should be getting soon in mail, end of April) also, the only charge that changes is the shipping. Depending what is in box shipping fluctuates!
I cancelled my March box but than I saw a blush palette spoiled for Aprils box so I got it đ

I love the water spray! I use it as a part of my evening skin routine too as just a hydrating spray. I also used it for a recent sunburn and it helped keep it nice and hydrated as it healed. I got one of each. â€
Everything in your box looks sooo sweet and amazing! I was actually hoping that when you pulled out that bottom piece to the palette it would have some more colorful shades, so I can see where it would seem they just kinda gave you more of the same shades đđ

I watched a MUA so makeup. I also received a water spray and didn't know what to use it for. He said on special occasions to skip moisturizer, etc and saturate your face with water spray and let it dry. Then repeat and let dry and then do foundation, etc. As I'm nearing 60,I'm not loving foundation, etc. However, when I did the water spray technique, I LOVED how my makeup looked so you should try it one day.

The one palette in the advent calendar is a custom made for the advent calendar, it is very similar to one they have with a drawer, but it does not have a drawer in itđ And yes, they do have a lot of beautiful colored eyeshadow, they and blend bunny are my favourite coloured formulas, but don't know if they are for you, because they are extremely pigmentedđ

Yes, they still sell Juicy Juice juice boxes. I buy the big bottles of that brand for my husband, they don't add sugar or corn syrup and taste good.

Your eye shadow is gorgeous!!! Love what you did, Iâm trying that tomorrow. I actually love the colours in the palette and would use all of them. I have a small deep green shadow for some events but havenât a clue how old it is. Perhaps that should be replaced đ€
They still make Juicy Juice. My son, who is 18, always has a box or six on his person or in his bag. He has Type 1 Diabetes and so he uses them for lows. Never let him have juice boxes as a kid because they are mostly sugar. But now they are life savors. Anyway...I love PL unboxing. I want to order a box so bad

If they advertised 'Strawberries & Cream' for afternoon tea and then just gave you strawberry jam and cream on scones, people would riot. Jam is jam. They also traditionally have always served strawberries and cream at the Wimbledon Tennis Tournament.
For hundreds of years, strawberry season was very brief (a few weeks) and in the height of summer - so this was a traditional afternoon tea for those who grew them or could afford to buy them (the wealthy middle to upper classes).

I like to use those moisturizing type sprays for my back. Even when I am able to get lotion on my back I am not able to rub it in lol so those moisturizing sprays keep my back moisturized without being greasy feeling.
I love neutrals but 3/4s the pallette was cream shades and beige.
i went online and looked at past boxes, and i see lots of variety in them, so look forward to that. They are $39/mo with this as the shipping to me personally Royal Mail International Standard 5-15 days at $12.66, which may contribute to the changing costs per month. also, they have a 6mo $191 where the last box is free and a 12mo $381 where the 1st and last box are free.

That eye shadow palette does look like the last box I got that same box and at first thought I got 2 of the same palettes. They need to step it up with their variety of colors.

Alexandria "afternoon tea" is a meal. You get a cup of tea, but you get plates with cakes and sandwiches on them, and scones with jam/cream etc to share. It's a British thing đđ. That's why your lip gloss doesn't smell like tea đ
