Hey guys! I just wanted to have a little discussion before we go shopping about why I personally believe this box is not worth the very hefty price tag. I would love to hear what you guys think though! Also let me know what you guys think about what I was able to find! I think It would have been so much easier and cheaper ifI had more to chose from! I think you canceling the box was a good idea . It looks and seems like it's not a very good box. Going to many different stores for your holiday decor for one day I believe you bring able to get what you want that is your style is better then getting this box . Hope you have a good day
I think you did amazingly considering you went when most of the Halloween items were gone. Everything you bought was very classy and I would have had in my home. Most of what was in the original box seemed like seconds or very cheap items, as well as being kitsch but not in a good way.
I wanted to say the same! It’s way better if you buy stuff that will get used and loved and not just “perfect recreations” that will end up in the trash.
How Alexandria hasn’t gotten a collab with a good subscription, or even her own, is beyond me! She always picks better things than what comes in the boxes!!
It feels like they got their inventory from the dollar store and tried to charge joann level prices, meanwhile you went to homegoods and found actual good things! I love when you expose companies 😂 also Tater's little face holding onto the witch hat for dear life was just too funny 😂😂😂
The fact they separated items that came in sets, really irritates me. The items are already cheap enough yet they had to cut cost even more and only give you 1 pillow, 1 cup, and 1 gnome. The tags even say 1 of 3 🤦🏼♀️
While the items are all sitting together, the subscription boxes items look more cohesive than yours (I think it’s literally just the green pumpkin throwing yours off) but overall your items are cuter, better quality, better value and most importantly, actually to your taste. (I looked at their website and you literally received a box labelled “farmhouse” so they definitely don’t give af about your preferences). I love these recreation videos!
Two days before Halloween is exactly when you can find the best Christmas/winter decor! Hope you were at least able to take advantage of that. Edit: love the black ceramic pumpkin! Much better than the giant pumpkin mug.
If you put everything you picked in a subscription box, I would be incredibly happy to receive it. I love everything you picked out. So much nicer than the crap in that box. Temu had ghost pillows like that for like 2 dollars. I love those orange pillows. I loved rich colors and fabrics like that. Thanks for all the digging you did about the box and for recreating or. You look gorgeous as always. Oh, my dog and my cat both are addicted to ripping anything stuffed apart, nothing with fabric and stuffing is safe 😂
I love, love, love that you did this! I know it's too late for Halloween, but maybe you could "recreate" this box at the actual Dollar Tree/Dollar General with Christmas stuff too? You wouldn't need to buy it, but I'd love a vlog "Shop With Me" style video showing that you can buy this kind of stuff from the Dollar Tree too.

Really interesting background on the company! I used to work in buying for a gift shop and its nuts the mark up between wholesale catalog prices and what they ultimately sell for in-store. I knew immediately this stuff was all wholesale, which is to be expected, but it wasn't like.... great quality wholesale. Love your recreations as always!
You did such a better job doing it yourself as you always do. That three tier pumpkin would look so cute wit fairy lights in it to light it up. The sign you could paint the frame black.

The candle you bought with the cloche top….when my mom died. My step daughter gave me a candle just like that. I now use it as a, “Butter Bell” basically you get it clean. And put your butter in it and cover the butter with the cloche. That way you can keep the butter fresh and clean as well as keep it on your counter. It’s the way they kept butter spreadable back in the day!!!!
this is WILD and i loved every second. The side by side - the box items look like LITERAL DOLLAR TREE ITEMS and yours from home goods are SO MUCH CUTER (i also hate farmhouse tho)
You definitely found better items than most of the items in the Halloween themed subscription box. I absolutely love the pumpkin shaped cookie jar, the green pumpkin, the stacked black pumpkins and the candle covered in the cloche.

I can guarantee that Dollar Tree will have an abundance of Halloween/fallish decor at the end of October And a week or two after. (And the stuff you buy after Halloween is like 50% off) I was just in my local Dollar Tree a couple days ago and they still had tons of Halloween stuff 🎃 Love your channel Alexandria! I guess it depends on where you live. In my area they are usually sold out of seasonal stuff weeks before the holiday. More so than any other store. You would have better luck at Joanne or Michael’s.
As usual when you recreate these boxes for less, I like what you buy so much more than what you get in those crazy boxes. You have great taste! That green velvet pumpkin and the orange pillows are absolutely gorgeous.

I work at home goods and we did have that orange pillow and I believe it was &9.99. Also, we had a 3 piece pumpkin kit like the wood one for $12.99. Almost all of the items from the subscription box we had at homegoods this year!!!

I can’t stop looking at the 2 green advent calendars back there. They look like a lamp. And the darker green one even looks like it has the light from the ‘bulb’ shining down on it.😂

I honestly love the stuff you picked and if I spent 180 and got that in a box I'd be pretty happy. It's a very intentional thoughtful collection and the fact that you were limited makes it all the more impressive! That green pumpkin is life!
Love the things you chose! For the candle, you could probably use acetone or something to remove the words if you did want to reuse it for something less Halloween-y!
The only box I get is Ipsy, and even though the price of it is going up AGAIN, I'm sticking with it. I watch unboxing videos, and I think one of the worst ones is that Thread Up one. It's just nonsensical to me. Then, if you don't like what they send you, and in many cases they don't like what's sent, you have to send it all back, and most times you forget and that's what they hope you do. I have been watching YOU Alexandria for years now, and no matter what you unbox, you're just a breath of fresh air. You make me smile with your cuteness. Keep it up!

They had just adopted a dog, Angel (which was clearly an aspirational name) and left her at home for a morning, to return to a townhouse coated in fluff from a dismantled horse plush!! All the horse items were then retired to a spare room with a closed door

My dogs loved stuffed animals too. I even bought a toy that was meant to really tough to rip open/chew through and gave it my baby girl, went a made a cup of tea came back to sit down and drink my tea and there was dog toy everywhere!!
I live these recreations because you choose things you like! The whole thing about subscriptions boxes is losing being able to choose by gaining a deal, so when recreating, the best thing is sticking on the theme but choosing what you like!

It's interesting to me how they attribute some of the worth of the box to removing the "hassle" of having to go out and get the items yourself, because personally, home decor and things of that nature are something I genuinely enjoy shopping for. It's never a hassle, it's something I WANT to do and get a lot of enjoyment out of. Taking that experience away absolutely removes value for me.

I like all items you picked so much more than the other company did. I especially love the triple stack pumpkins and the pillows you picked. I think you do a great job picking items. I think it's always better to pick your own style even if it costs a bit more because you will enjoy and use it more.

I can’t stop looking at the 2 green advent calendars back there. They look like a lamp. And the darker green one even looks like it has the light from the ‘bulb’ shining down on it.😂

The only box I get is Ipsy, and even though the price of it is going up AGAIN, I'm sticking with it.
I watch unboxing videos, and I think one of the worst ones is that Thread Up one. It's just nonsensical to me. Then, if you don't like what they send you, and in many cases they don't like what's sent, you have to send it all back, and most times you forget and that's what they hope you do.
I have been watching YOU Alexandria for years now, and no matter what you unbox, you're just a breath of fresh air. You make me smile with your cuteness. Keep it up!

They had just adopted a dog, Angel (which was clearly an aspirational name) and left her at home for a morning, to return to a townhouse coated in fluff from a dismantled horse plush!! All the horse items were then retired to a spare room with a closed door
My kitten was trying DESPERATELY to reach the boys through the screen 😂 we have a whole house of fans 😅

I’m not sure if I’m the only one who’s ever thought of this BUT I was just thinking that if some of these companies ever came across her videos, more specifically videos just like this one, they would be smart to offer Alexandria a really good salary on how to build great boxes that subscription box enthusiasts would LOVE while still maximizing their profits because she did an amazing job recreating this box!!!!!!!!

My dogs loved stuffed animals too. I even bought a toy that was meant to really tough to rip open/chew through and gave it my baby girl, went a made a cup of tea came back to sit down and drink my tea and there was dog toy everywhere!!

I live these recreations because you choose things you like! The whole thing about subscriptions boxes is losing being able to choose by gaining a deal, so when recreating, the best thing is sticking on the theme but choosing what you like!

It's interesting to me how they attribute some of the worth of the box to removing the "hassle" of having to go out and get the items yourself, because personally, home decor and things of that nature are something I genuinely enjoy shopping for. It's never a hassle, it's something I WANT to do and get a lot of enjoyment out of. Taking that experience away absolutely removes value for me.
