  • THE BEST Doc Holliday
Val Kilmer and Russell costarred in Tombstone as real-life 19th-century Old West figures Doc Holliday and Wyatt Earp, respectively, in a film that follows Earp's journey as his attempts to adjust from life as a law enforcement officer to retirement are thwarted by continual run-ins with groups of outlaws.
Val Kilmer practiced for a long time on his quick-draw speed, and gave his character a Southern Aristocrat accent. The southern accent is an authentic touch, as Holliday was a cousin (several generations removed) of Margaret Mitchell, author of "Gone With the Wind".
For a ham like Kilmer, Holliday is pretty much the perfect role. It afforded him the opportunity to dramatically transform his physical appearance by losing 30 pounds to play a man dying of tuberculosis.
While both films present their own interpretations of the character, Val Kilmer's portrayal of Doc Holliday in "Tombstone" is often regarded as one of the most iconic and historically accurate portrayals
Young Holliday was considered very intelligent and excelled in his studies. In 1872 at the age of 20, Holliday received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the Pennsylvania College of Dental Surgery in Philadelphia.
I'm your huckleberry" means "I'm the one for the job." Made popular by the 1993 movie Tombstone, this classic Western lingo is a way to say, “I've got you covered” or “I'm the right person for the job.” Basically, if someone asks you if you can do something, you can respond with “I'm your huckleberry”.
Doc Holliday: [to Johnny Ringo, after shooting him in a duel] You're no daisy! You're no daisy at all. Poor soul, you were just too high strung.

It's I'm your huckle bearer. A huckle is a handle on a casket.
