Well some of the landings were rough, I think without the flips he wouldn’t do that good at all
The judges are the crowd, You vote on your phone out of 10 and it gets calculated automatically and broadcasted on the jumbotron

It means nothing could've been better, nothing could've been improved on.
It is the pinnacle, the highest point. IMO 10s are given out like candy if you look at other competitions and sports w.e, a 10 should ONLY be given if EVERYTHING was PERFECT and NOTHING can be improved upon!
But yeah, I gotchu, it was INSANE.. but the rest of the run was pretty meh.
He only did anything for 18 seconds. The rest of the time he slowly drove up and down hills.

I was there that night and got to witness this with my own eyes! Watching it here again I am still in awe and just how awesome the front flip was! To hear the roar of the crowd brings back the memories of me and my son (then 8 yrs old) just screaming our heads off and going crazy with the crowd was truly one of the greatest moments we'll never forget. Wish they would being the Final back to Las Vegas again.
You got to see something truly special that night. For him to pull off this flip during a competition run is truly once in a lifetime. And the distance he traveled is incredible, with pretty much a perfect landing as well. It’s like something you would see out of a video game or movie.

The scores are averaged from fans on their phones now, a perfect score is basically impossible. Even a 9.5+ is pretty difficult unless you're the last run, between partisans and people leaving themselves room in case a better run happens

Rest of this run was kinda average. But this Flip from wheelie is what saved it.
He didn’t fill the bonus time clock which usually means you don’t have a shot at the lead. But he had an almost perfect score so it didn’t matter.

I took my kids to Raymond James stadium in Tampa to watch and I loved the entire experience. From the National Anthem to the freestyle

Actually, TC2 got me thinking that Monster Trucks might not be all that bad. I started wondering how MT freestyle compares irl to the game in terms of point structure (i.e. how much is based on hitting certain parts of the arena, how much on tricks, etc). Starting to get more interesting for me, I used to think it was all just "what truck can crush cars the flattest."
Structure is pretty different but in the end you need to do some of the same things anyway so on the surface you do get a similar appearance in some respect.
On TV is never as fun, I went to one back in like '05 and I was skeptical at first but it turned out to be a really fun experience.
Actually being there you would have a grin from ear to ear. Specially with a couple beers in ya. Its just simple Fun. And if you have a young son. Go!

To this day, one of the greatest runs in Monster Jam. I remember when it happened it was awesome, nothing like that had been seen. Still exciting to see years later.

So many awkward landings, I thought for sure an axle would snap or a hub would shatter. Truck took a tremendous beating but held on to complete a legendary performance.

Monster trucks are marvels of machinery…. 6 tons with the tires and full of fuel…. Performing a slap wheelie and then doing a front flip…. It truly defies gravity…. Engines only have about 20 hours of run time before they are swapped out…. The planetary 3 to 1 gear system is amazing…. And the engine faces backwards…. The axels turning in the wrong direction…. With a simple shifter and two pedals to lock your feet in place…. Monster Trucks are absolute BEASTS….

Definitely rehearsed! It had to be perfectly calculated to land the front wheels on the side of that mound. Without it the truck would slam head on into the floor. Or it could’ve just been luck !

2:09 my neck trying to do a backflip
I am a gymnast, I started when I was 6 yro and never stopped. I competed for 6 years then got hurt so stopped competing and worked onbparkour and free running. I coached gymnastics at a gym since I was 17 and im 34 now. I can tell you your mistake was not throwing your arms up properly in the set and most likely throwing your head back then getting scared and tucking your head stalling the whip back and putting you upside down. Best what to do it is throw your arms up to eyebrow level and jump up, while in the air look foward to the horizon by tucking your head into your chest while leaning back in the air then you keep your head tucked while dumping your knees over your head (like a backward roll) then open up after the rotation happens.
