#Oxhorn #Fallout4 #FarHarbor - Hry
So, in a nutshell, young girls identity crisis caused massive destruction in Far Harbour.
I assume that is how wars start 🦃
Just like Rome! But with robots...
@@johnnykanogear5607 pretty much. No xrays to confirm she's not a synth. This annoys on so many levels lol
The way I see it, it was a filler of; - "Oh! We neeeeed more content in this game, a conflict between a character that the protaginist will pave her to A or B, and 2 conflicted factions that will be irrelevant throught the rest of the game! You have 2 days in coming up with something".
And she wasnt even a synth
*Kenji:* "So Kasumi has stayed in Arcadia... did you at least find out if she was really a synth...?"
*Player:* "Oh yes, good news on that front!"
*Kenji:" _(hopeful)_ "You did...?"
*Player:* "Yep! I can confirm to you that she is definitely _not_ a synth!"
*Kenji:* "But... how can you be sure...?"
*Player:* _(happily)_ "Oh, me and my friends from the Brotherhood went in there and killed, just.... everybody. Like every last one. Synth bodies flying left and right, shooting anything that moved... ah, fun times! _sigh_ Anyway, I found Kasumi's broken and bleeding corpse in the wreckage and it didn't have a single synth component, sooo... yeah, totally free-range human, confirmed!"
*Kenji:* "You mean she's - -"
*Player:* "Yeah, I got right up in the guts and had a good ol' root around in there... I mean, it wasn't really any trouble, they were mostly spilling out on the floor anyway so it wasn't really a bother. But yeah... totally human, you can tell by the feel of the lungs. See, synth lungs feel all plasticky."
*Kenji:* _(mortified)_ "B-b-but - - "
*Player:* "I know, I know - you don't have the words to thank me. Don't worry, citizen, your happiness is my reward!"
_(Player strolls out jauntily , whistling a cheerful tune and waving over their shoulder, as Kenji and Rei wail their despair to an uncaring wasteland)_
*Player:* _(smiling to themselves and sighing)_ "I'm just such a good, helpful person!"
I like how you think, adds more emotion to it i think
This was awesome

Excuse sir? Sir? There is this settlement that needs.........

I love the voice the female ss uses
Always amuses me how "awkward" the game handles the way people are reunited - this and Billy - I've never seen parents just stand there and talk.

*_Really?_*_ Never?_
"Well, there was that time I got hired by someone who'd been frozen in a vault for 200 years. That one's been a doozy so far..."
Beyond a reasonable doubt - Kasumi is a human.
1. She does NOT drop a synth component while nearly every other synth, save 2, does when killed.
2. There is no positive evidence she is a synth - save Kasumi's recurring dream of her inception in the institute, WHICH NO OTHER SYNTH HAS EVER HAD. (also proves likely she isn't an escaped synth who had a memory wipe.
3. She is young - so the Institute would know if they recently replaced someone, while they had no information. SRB Dr. William Moseley indicates that they have no record of any synth deployment with that identity, meaning she cannot be a synth under Institute control. He does, however, raise the possibility her personality may have been given after a memory wipe, but memory wipes from the railroad or other people do not involve killing and replacing like the institutes operations. Also no strategic benefit in replacing an isolated child. Further, the Railroad operative, Boxer, reports that she doesn't recognize Kasumi's name and she does not have any evidence that Kasumi is a Railroad assisted synth - meaning nearly ALL people with the capacity to perform a memory wipe have no idea who she is or what she could have been.
4. Her psychological issues are from growing up and her ambitions. She has aspirations and frustrations stemming from herself wanting to live her own life/see the world. Her dad frustrates her by over protecting her and shutting her in their home. She is curious, bored, and isolated, which drives her to the fantasies leading to Acadia. Teenager with special snowflake syndrome. Lesson is to never let your worst fears rule your actions.
5. Screw fallout 4 for not making solid distinctions. NO WAY a synth can be undetectable from a human but be capable of all the plot furtherance mechanics like mind/identity wipes or transplants/facial reconstruction - unless this can be done to humans too, which would be BS. The fact ONLY 2 synths do not drop components is likely a mistake on bethesda's part - so i'd infer ALL synths drop components - it was the same form a lore perspective even in Fallout 3.
I thought the whole "there's no way to identify a synth unless you kill them and cut out their synth component" thing was a cheap cop out. Surely, if there is such a component that you can program in order to change the synths identity, there has to be some way to detect that component (otherwise how would you even "reprogram" them). Fallout 4 really makes me angry if I think about it for too long.
Thing is mind control on humans and rewritten human brains has been a thing since fallout 1 and 2 with robo brains, tactics had something similar with a BOS general being reprogrammed by the calculator as well as the calculator iteself having its human components programmed. Vegas had the think tank shut down the couriers agression. That said all of these cases involve cybernetics to varying degrees and going off the synth component so do the synths.
I do agree the lack of medical detection is dumb id get fooling general tests but the more advance factions like the BOS who have experience with cybernetics and more advance medical knowledge should be able to find the synths component.
@@vonfaustien3957 just put a metal detector to their heads smh
I'm pretty sure synths can not have children. So... You know... There's one way to check...
@@tacticaldroidtx22 that seems really impractical.

"Look at her! Can't we salvage what we can..."
Ouch; poor choice of words. I'm surprised Kasumi didn't flee before hearing the end of the sentence.
Kasumi: nothing phases you, does it?
Sole Survivor(me): kid, if i let the shit i've seen phase me, i'd have either eaten a bullet or became a raider or became a walking chemical vat with all the drugs and booze i'd consume. becoming a sociopath is my escape to keeping some semblance of sanity, ignore my madness and lemme enjoy my means of coping with all this chaos before i really go nutty.
Well then, let me tell you about this place caked Nuka-World
We all go a little madd sometimes.
Or, to quote a short, bald man: Let me cope!
The lone survivor in Far Harbour has the best sarcastic answers ever in a video game .
As a Massachusetts native, hearing the Sole Survivor say "Queen of Fah Habah" had me dying.
Please tell me there's people in Massachusetts with accents like just like that
Very much so
So, Kasumi just repeats the same thing, over and over.
Fallout 4 in a nutshell
She also looks identical to almost every female character in that game.
Maybe she's a synth, and she's glitching...
No it's not liar.
The sole survivor has a different response, I think that’s why he added it in.
I blew up the children of atom, shut down the fog condesors, sent Kasumi home, and destroyed Acadia with the BoS
Island tried to kill me, so I killed the Island.
@@Taistelukalkkuna Pretty much.
Nice & tidy.
I installed a tactical nuke mod and blew up the entire island. I cant even go there without a hazmat suit now. The radiation is worse than the glowing sea. Everyone is dead. Even the kids

Im so glad this channel exist. Any lore or alternative quest ending i need, its right here. Keep it up
“I don’t know if I could’ve made that choice” x100
"As long as Kasumi is alive, her dialog is the same" does she talk when she's dead? lol
...but the biggest unanswered question is...What position would Kasumi play, if she had made it onto a baseball team??? (or was she really a soccer fan???) There really should've have been an option to give Kasumi the S.A.F.E. test, voight kampff style!!! :)
Qualisarphate //That’s a great idea
I bet shortstop
I want a Fallout game that shows Kasumi older and she has realized she's not a synth.
she is not a synth that's right if you tell the institute about arcadia you can ask about a synth named Kasumi and the doctor say we do not made a synth with that name so she is 100% human
Yes and they could show it in a new Fallout. Be a great character to bring back.
The almighty EMP knows all, it will prove who is who
@@aidenburnside6380 it's even more powerful than the almighty Atom lmao
This quest admittedly pissed me off. In my first playthrough, I deduced that Kasumi wasn't a synth by talking with the Institute. I knew it wasn't a mind wipe, because had there been one, there would simply be 2 Kasumis. A friend suggested that she could have replaced the real one FIRST and THEN gotten her mind wiped. This can't be, because the Institute would have records of her since that was her purpose. It pissed me off more when I found out that killing her reveals she's human as well. Anyway, it frustrates me that Kasumi never TRULY believes she's human. Makes the potential "drama" pretty pointless unless you're just being a prick. 😏
Funny enough, there is ALWAYS a rad storm every time I finish this quest and go to talk to the Nakano parents.
Rei: dramatically talking about acceptance, and love
Nick: (teleports from the void)
I dunno I found that funny lol
that yar har har got a genuine laugh out of me
and that bit at the end when you looked at the no smoking sign and glared at the lit cigarette on the desk was pretty neat

I wonder if Kazumi's grandfather went to Point Lookout?
D.C is pretty far south from The Commonwealth, but if Tobar the ferryman could drive his ferry from D.C to The Commonwealth I suppose Kasumi’s grandpa could’ve also made it to Point Lookout.
The idea that she’s a synth is going to disappear when she starts aging.

Thanks for this series! I really enjoyed it. Looking forward to future videos.
I understand that with the institute replacing people that it can be worrying to think that you may be a synth, but if Kasume was a synth you would be able to tell by using VATS because she would be immune to rads
Gen 3 Synths don't have any unique bonuses. They're literally just normal NPCs with Synth components in their inventory. Ox has a whole video on it, if you want to watch that.
@@CyberController- I forgot about that, but if we tell Kenji she is a synth we would be lying to him, she doesnt have a synth component
@@stevencastleberry7799 yeah but she thinks she a synth and there's really no way to tell if you are a synth without the good old staby stab
@@EveryoneElseIsWeirdImNormal true but like he showed in the videos prior if you destroy Acadia she isnt plus regardless of what the railroad does the institute keeps a record of people they have replaced so the fact that the scientists say she isnt an institute synth is proof enough considering that if anyone would know it would be them
@@stevencastleberry7799 She's not a synth, she just thought she is one after she starts to forget her past memories. There's no proof that she is, the institute doesn't know her and there's no synth component inside her. Why she has this radical thought and is so convinced that she's a synth and why everyone else treated this as if it's the truth, the _absolute_ truth, isn't even explained by the game. Bad writing is bad.
Man, I really love the work and effort you put into all your videos, Ox! This play through is definitely one of my favorites, and I love the into/outros you have! Keep being awesome :)
Thank you for this series dude. I waited every weekend and watched every video. Loved the whole thing. More power to ya on your coming projects!
Yep. I did the Legendary farming trick as well... Got a really sweet gauss rifle out of it. Had the Rapid legendary affect which allowed it to fire 25% faster and load 15% faster.
After seeing all the endings, I think "replace Tektus" is actually the good ending, not "execute DiMa". Sure, it makes DiMa and you responsible for at least four deaths (two humans, two synths), DiMa's not the only murderer on the island. How many people has Tektus ordered the deaths of--and not just Far Harbor residents, but Children of Atom as well. How many people have died undergoing the "drink from an irradiated spring until something happens" challenge? Heck, even when you first arrive he's having someone put to death. He sends you out to kill other people, both the faithful and apostates. And for all of Far Harbor's talk of how they'd put someone to death if murder was proven, what about Allen Lee? He murdered a Child of Atom and no one punished him. The town has protected him despite him being a murderer. The town also probably kills some of their own when you first arrive there by leaving them to the mercy of the fog creatures instead of doing a coordinated charge out of the gate, surrounding their friends, then retreating. If the people left outside the walls survive, it's due to your intervention and not the town's. Also, it's not like these would be the first people your character has ever killed--your character has killed tons of people, not all of whom were hostile, no matter what ending you chose. So yes, DiMa is a murderer, but so is everyone else. There are no moral paragons in Far Harbor.
I feel like this was the tasty cherry on top of the cake. Thanks for the series!!!
Pretty sure synths can't get pregnant, so I suppose if she gets "busy" enough, she'll learn the truth the hard way.
The Nova renaissance why would the Institute make synths that can reproduce? They don’t view them as human, so why give them that human ability? They would lose control over the synths.
@@No_nameOG Synths are supposed to replace humanity. That's why they resemble humans in every way possible, and needed clean DNA from Father to be perfect, healthy specimens. It makes sense that they'd be able to reproduce to naturally replace humanity like the Institute wants
@@No_nameOGThey want to control all Synths like slaves, population control is part of that idea, if you want to keep them like robots, make them reproduce and give those kind of capabilities, they would lose the control on them, imagine a Synth having a child with somebody of interest for the Institute, and them order that synth to slay the target that the Synth is with, the emotional connection would be a problem.
There's 2 reasonable reasons why that is not possible, please next time investigate the type of people that live in the Institute before saying those things
No they can't they also don't eat drink or age that's the stupidity of it all the plot holes
@@No_nameOG lol right this person doesn't know the lore at all

One of the coolest things about fallout 4 to me was how randomly NPCs react to our companion but not us that makes this game so replayable .
Well done, Oxhorn! I enjoyed your Far Harbor series. Many of the decisions and dialog options I would never make were nicely presented. So, even though I still wouldn't make most of them, I'm happy to see what would happen. Don't think I always play the good guy. I have talked Tektus into Division through nuclear explosion, and I've taken out Acadia as a Brotherhood and as an Institute character (both times after saving Kasumi). But there are still some options I can't bring myself to do.
This was made a while ago but your Far Harbor intro is the absolute best
What a great lore series, great work, Oxhorn. I really enjoyed this series.
It's weird how apparently there is no non-lethal test to tell if someone's a synth, but the Railroad can reprogram a synth's mind and wipe it. Wouldn't that make it easy for experienced people in the Railroad to do this kind of test?
That intro is fantastic! I love your channel, thanks man.
Best ending to Far Harbour:
> Kasumi goes home
> The Nucleus is Destroyed
> The Fog Condensers are turned off
> BOS kills DiMa and the synths

16:40 & 20:40 😂😂😂😂 OMG Nick is hysterical in this one ❤

I like how she can criticize you but refuses to acknowledge the fact that she technically caused all of this.
I allied with Far Harbor, destroyed the CoA, sent Kasumi home, and destroyed Acadia with the BoS.
Man this was a great series, great job Ox. I adore the far harbor dlc. So many ways for the story to progress, I love figuring out when and where to have story progressing conversations. Fallout 4 base is a bit more linear but that's ok becuase it's a larger game. I usually leave Kasumi in Acadia, if she's so convinced then let her be, she'll know the truth when she starts getting wrinkles, that or she'll deny it which would be crazy.
“My dad was quite a explorer”

Far Harbour reminds me of Silent Hill Shattered Memories
I built a house at Longfellow’s Cabin using the warehouse structure that comes from wasteland workshop. It is one of my four homes. The first one is my house in Sanctuary, My second one is Home Plate inn Diamond City, My third is at Kingsport Lighthouse.
There's gotta be more lore on the island in the prewar buildings
19:15 was probably the most hear-wrenching part of the DLC.
Thank you , Ox .
A good watch ,
Bro I dont even play fallout but I can appreciate good narration when I see it
At least Kasumi will figure out she’s not a Synth when she starts aging or ends up having a child. Honestly, how can she even think she’s a Synth? Her parents practically never let her leave their sights. The Institute is sneaky but not that sneaky to quickly switch her out. I assume it was just deep seated fear from all the rumors of the Institute messing with her mind and coming out in bad dreams and memory blanks.
Love your videos Ox keep up the great work!!
A good video to enjoy after work hope everyone stays well and safe and you oxhorn
Love your content. in all honesty, half the reason I watch the far harbor series is because of the theme song
Why did Bethesda keep the question so open about her being a Synth? There is only one explanation I can think of - that Bethesda wanted to leave it to the player to decide.
Anyone else think that Kasumis plot is the most uninteresting part of all of far harbor? There’s SO much to explore and discover in FH it makes no difference to me what happens to her. This DLC is incredibly layered. Multiple endings, new loot, tons of juicy locations and best of all an amazing score!😍
4:40 *laughs into a-* OH MUY GAWDDD! THAT IS CRAZY! and something I know I would say in a post apocalypse.
I really wish there had been an option to let Kasumi join us at one of our settlements. That would have made a lot of sense.
Kasumi is the only life that matters in far harbor!
LOL that moment at 2:37 "Sometimes you have to make the best of what comes your way.." Surprise! A wild Nick appears out of nowhere. Well, I guess we will have to make the best out of this Synth Detective then. xD

is a good in-depth playthrough for Far harbor man, i can tell you put a lot of efforts on attentions to details and editing
i did a level 1 run straight into FH on hardcore survival diff series
i tried to make very in-depth too but the problem with that damn difficulty is the lack of save files and the limitations for experimenting more with the game's outcomes and all that
is really the main thing of why i hate survival a lot of the times
and yes i know there are mods that fix that but i often play Vanilla
i wish after all this, we could make Kasumi a companion
