  • If innovation is so important and unique, why do call every new product and every minor improvement innovative? Can we break away from our patterns of thinking, to come up with innovative ideas on demand, and translate them into actions? Now, it’s time to take advantage of existing resources by turning new ideas into innovative ones. Systematic Inventive Thinking, or SIT, is both the name of the company and the method Erez Tsalik is working with.
New Product Development, Marketing Communications and Advertising, Problem Solving and Innovative Strategy - as a Senior Facilitator and an international expert on innovation strategy, Erez facilitates in all of the Systematic Inventive Thinking’s applications. Disney, Airtel, Siemens, Bayer, and McCann are just some of the big names, that trust in Erez and SIT. But Erez doesn’t only present his ideas to his leading international clients. He also lectures as a lead presenter in the area of creativity and innovation in academic institutes, including Columbia University, London Business School, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and Tel Aviv University. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

Creativity is often equated with "thinking outside the box," but we think that's topsy-turvy. All the solutions take place INSIDE. For this you have to use your imagination. You have to "see" patterns that will only appear when you INVENT them!

Inside the box can be an advantage as well as thinking outside the box.

I thought I was thinking outside the box, but came to realize I was just thinking inside a larger box.

Very good presentation. Using what we have rather than what we don't have can lead to creative ideas that can then lead to further ideas and continuous improvement.

I love this way of thinking ... 99% of the problems that we face in the real world whether it's in our jobs or in our personal lifes .. We can't really think outside of the box all the time ... So we have to improve our thinking inside the box skills

Some years ago I used to work for a rising branding hot shop and we're on a fierce bid with several of our market competitor's for an account that ultimately would bring home the bacon; lot's of it.
Our branding idea was for a state of the art builder of retail spaces:
Novo Interior • Think inside the box
The logo was inspired by an image of a Lorenz Attractor.
The owner of the said branding hot shop was not very happy with my idea prior to presentation to the client, as this was years ago when all the hype was Think outside the box and the whole empowerment mumble-jumble. So he forced me into doing a plan B solution.
"Make a whole different idea, because this one sucks" and "create a more mainstream concept; ok?", were spewed as he grinned away, in rage. So I had to double shift the whole ordeal but I would be the one defending our creative team and present the ideas to the client, so I tilted my way the first and riskier idea.
We won the contract! There at that meeting, with me at the wheel and boy what a ride it was. The client said we we're spot on about their business working with very tight building procedures and regulations of all sorts. For them the only way was control and be very aware of all the information for each specific situation thus preventing costs and optimising time. It was a company dealing with very complex teams and challenges and our branding was very well received generating a solid foundation for it's growth to become a market leader and later be sold, for very hefty sum, to a bigger multi national player. The client, a very nice fellow by the way, was happy; my boss was happy and I was even happier to see my work plastered around the country.
Many of the topics you brilliantly present in this video were talked about back in that day - to the panic of my boss - and are still very present in my memory.
Thank you Mr Erez Tsalik for presenting us with this counter intuitive idea that actualy should be intuition itself.

"Use the problem as the solution" Yeah Al Capone was years ahead of that enterprise.
PROBLEM: A certain crime syndicate is attempting to extort large payments from your business which is located in their territory.
SOLUTION: Hire same syndicate to protect your business from the consequences of not relinquishing payment to said syndicate.
