Pokémon Go is a 2016 augmented reality (AR) mobile game developed and published by Niantic in collaboration with The Pokémon Company for iOS and Android devices. A part of the Pokémon franchise, the game is the result of a collaboration between Niantic, Nintendo and The Pokémon Company. It uses the mobile device GPS to locate, capture, battle, and train virtual creatures, called Pokémon, which appear as if they are in the player's real-world location. The game is free to play; it uses a freemium business model and supports in-app purchases for additional in-game items. The game launched with around 150 species of Pokémon, which had increased to around 500 by 2019.
Pokémon Go was released to mixed reviews; critics praised the concept, but criticized technical problems. It was one of the most used and profitable mobile apps in 2016, having been downloaded more than 500 million times worldwide by the end of the year. It is credited with popularizing location-based and AR technology, promoting physical activity, and helping local businesses grow due to increased foot traffic. However, it attracted controversy for contributing to accidents and creating public nuisances. Various governments expressed concerns about security, and some countries regulate its use. By early 2019, the game had over a billion global downloads, grossing over $3 billion in revenue. The game also had over 147 million monthly active users as of May 2018. - Hry
i just started playing the game again and boy is it alot better then when it first came out, i remember walking around for like over a hour without finding a pokemon before and my area had limited pokestops and stuff now i see plenty of pokemon have a TON of pokestops and gyms near me and its honestly a way better experience
Yeah its definitely way better
I started again too and literally have caught about 50+ Pokémon while just sitting in my house. Love it 😂
@@dianamensone8478 lol ive only been goin out on events really
@@riot6508I’ve been going on the events as well I started about a month and a half ago and I got 12 shinys love the events especially the squirtle squad event.
I feel like it would be more fun for Pokemon to be rare actually and you have to go hunt for them. Now like the other guy said I already caught like 50 no problem
I’m level 40, I still had no idea what I was doing. I decided I should watch about it 😂
Lol, same.
Same here
I’m level 25 just causally using it to workout & I’m like wtf going on lol
Started playing in 2016. I think the last time I played was 2017. Coming back to Pokémon GO in 2023. Thank you SO MUCH for a very comprehensible, thorough guide!! This is by far the most helpful video I've found to catch me up AND to learn useful tips. I watched three or four other channels with similar content, but yours is by far the most helpful! Subscribed!
Same 😭🙏🙏
The big question is: Why is none of this in the game? There is little to no tutorial for basic stuff like: how to throw pokeballs (let alone curve balls)? What to do at the pokestop?
My first two days of playing have been a massive exercise in trial and error (and now succumbing to watch this amazing tutorial).
Just beat four gyms yesterday. I kept running out of pokeballs but after this video I now have 100+ from pokestops! Thank you!
Ps not sure if it was a glitch or not but I put a lure module inside a PokeStop and sat there for a little. Every 5 or so minutes it let me spin it over and over. Tons of pokeballs, potions ect
@@AstriaTVTruthExposed you dont need to use a lure for that, save them to evolve certain pokemon or on events
battle the same gym to go from bronze to gold and it will give more items every time spin it
@@AstriaTVTruthExposed pokestops allow u to spin them again every 3 mins or so regardless of a lure or not
How! I keep running out of poke balls and I run out of item storage so I can’t spin poke stops. How do I increase my storage
@@LeCaleb you can buy a bigger bag from the shop, think it's 200 coins - which you can buy or defend a gym to earn
Really appreciate this, I’ve always been on and off of this game, so I never really learned anything, but my niece likes playing it, so we’ve been going out often playing Pokémon Go with each other. This definitely helped me catch up to speed again.
I am glad that you created such video. When I joined the game, many videos missed the basics because they were obvious for most of the players. Well done!
Great video! Thank you! The game is a little overwhelming at the start and this was a MUCH needed video for me
Thanks for posting this. I'm a total newbie and you just showed me things I've NEVER seen which was awesome! Ain't been playing a month
Dude this video is seriously informative, I really had no idea how to proceed once I decided to get back into Pokemon Go to supplement my regular fitness regimen. Thanks!
Overall I liked this video and I'd like to recommend it to friends who are interested in starting the game. However I do strongly disagree with the advice on premium items. For free to play players I think that using lucky eggs, insence, and (the non-free) incubators is a terrible use of Pokecoins. I'd suggest using all coins from holding gyms to buy storage for more Pokemon or items. Not being able to hold more than a few balls, or save favorite Pokemon is one of the biggest frustrations in the game. Even raid passes are not as valuable as storage, until you have enough. Having fewer than 500 item storage is a pain, and having more than 1000 is a goal to aim for early in the game. Storage for at least 500 Pokemon is also a priority, and having fewer than 1000 Pokemon gets frustrating quickly. Once a player has over 1000 or each kind of storage, it may make sense to occasionaly buy premium items.
If you aren't buying lucky eggs, it makes sense to save the few you get for free to use when you are about to become good, ultra, or best friends (perticularly if they have more than one friend that is ready to boost friendship.) Even a x3 XP event for 30 minutes is not going to give you as much boost from a lucky egg, as becoming best friends with a few players.
This was a very clear & straight forward video. I stopped playing couple yrs ago & redownloaded earlier this week. So many changes so this video was wonderful & worth the watch. Thank you! 😁
Coming back to the game after a while, this is helpful! Thank you!
im level 50 why am i watching this XD
lol still some useful info here even for veterans :D
I'm 38 and I'm still watching it...
Just in case!
Oh and cuz count makes GREAT CONTENT for F2P Players.
Sure PokéDaxi Mystic7 TrainerClub and Trainer Tips are all great, but they focus too much on catering to the crowd of people who are already lvl 50, and have FULL pokedex for every shiny AND most of the TOP TIER RAID ATTACKERS. And I'm like.... okay.... I'm lvl 38 and didn't play for like 3 years yall are good but on a tier WAY ABOVE ME. But Count breaks things down for people that maybe haven't played EVERY DAY FOR 6 YEARS AND GO TO ALL OF THE GO FESTS...
So THANK YOU COUNT JINSULA YOUR VIDEOS ARE AWESOME!!!!
I watched to see if it was better than the old videos on the subject. (I liked this better than the others I've seen.) I have friends ask how to play, that aren't eady to start playing or to watch me play. I'll likely share this video with them. I don't agree about the importance of premium items for new players, but that has to do with my play style.
Bored asf😂
I was just about to type that 🤣
Im lvl 30 and getting back into it this video will definitely help me thank u
I created my account in 2016 and barely played. Only just picked this up again and this is very helpful. Thanks.
started back in 2916.. last pokemon caught some time in the middle of 2017.. use to do it with my 2 boys who 10 and 8 at the time.. totally forgot about the game.. seen a co-worker playing it on our shuttle ride to work.. bemused.. re-downloaded the game and to my utter surprise all my content was still there.. was lvl 17 back then.. don't remember gym raids and all these other things going on now.. but it's actually pretty fun doing some catch up and assessing what i have..
I just started playing this and this is so helpful thankyou!
Thank you for making this video! If my friends ever play again, I will be sure to show them
You're welcome! And thanks!
youre very welcome my fellow trainer!!!
started day 1 in 2016. I was the first person in my state to reach level 20. never touched the game again until about a week ago. thank you! so much has changed. i remember i calculated it was going to take me over 6 months to level up past 22... just did it in a day haha
Wow thank you for this wonderful video. You covered every single confused thought I had
Just what I was looking for, thanks!
I know I'm late to this game but I just started and so thank you for this video, it was very helpful
thanks! just started and this helped a TON.
Thank you for this video 🙏🏻 I shared it with my friends who only really play with their kids, but don’t know the game as well.
Very helpful video thank you very much just been getting into the game recently and I'm enjoying it
Shared on Facebook, Pinterest, and Twitter. Extremely comprehensive. Wish it had been here in 2019 when I started playing.
I could’ve used this in 2018. That’s when I started playing.
Nice breakdown of the basics. This video is helpful snd I wish it got more viewss
I appreciate that!
I just started playing, thank you for teaching me what people raiding my local church with flares.
Thank you for the video! I sent the link to my friend that wants to start playing.
Getting back into the game so ty for making this video!
ive been playing pokemon go since around when it came out but i really dont know what im doing lmao, always have to ask my from "is this good?" about everything so rlly appreciate this vid. super in depth and helpful, tysm
Please consider doing some more video for beginners. I have just started playing with my kids. I was looking for information that will allow me to understand game mechanics and strategies. The true is that it is extremely difficult to find content that is nether very very old nor targeted to experience players who are just interested in recent changes in the game's meta.
This is the first in a series specifically for beginners! Stay tuned for more :)
This was a great guide, Tysm!
Finally a helpful video. Thank you for explaining it so clearly. I visited several pokestops and didn't know how to retrieve items. The videos and websites I visited thus far only said "Go to the pokestop and swipe". New sub for sure.
As a South Indian I am really struggling to play this game because each poke stop or Pokemon gym is 1km or more distance away from each other , so i cannot able to visit poke stop at all, I can only able to do ot when i go to my office in a bus , i will. Visit 4 poke stop and 2 gym while i am on a bus that's all😫
Yes
I'm pretty sure you can get coins from successfully defending in a gym or it's how long your pokemon stays in the gym.
Started playing today. On the way late train.
Super helpful! Thank you. 😁
Thanks 😂 I didn’t know where to start
I've been trying to find the perfect video to send Grandma 😂. She loves it, but definitely needs a broken down advancement in knowledge. We spent 2 hours on the phone while I walked her through the game. I was surprised at all the great questions she had. Thanks for the video!
I have been playing since february 2022.i have done alot of progress like i caught rayquaza,2palkias,2 ho-oh,a zekrom, azelf, mespirit and 4 thundurus(1shiny) but i just want to learn some thing that i don't like how to get more stardust.Btw thanks for this guide helped me a lot✌❤
Solid video count 👌
Thank you!
Thank you. I just started.
Wow this is an amazing video thank you mister
Level 28. And watches this for fun. I learned something new. I had no idea u can get pokecoins from battling gyms. Good to know!
very informative. thanks for this bro
Glad it was helpful!
OH MY GOD I had no clue I can spin the pokestop things xD thanks a lot lmao
5 years strong with my current account 💗 lost my first account that I had since the game came out sadly, but I haven't cheated and I haven't spent any money either. I have a great pokemon deck, I love this game, highly recommend "catching them all" in this game 😄
That's for the good guidance 👍
my friend from college put me on this game I am now lvl 10 but with these tips I am gonna be more leveled up in no time just by walking around college
I'm just about to get the game so let's go this game seems so cool
Thank you, thank you!
Excellent video...very hard to find a beginner video nowadays.
Thank you 🙏!
Thank you so much. You just got a sub
Thanks! :)
Thank you so much
Thanks bro😁
L 32 still found it helpful thanks mate
can you explain how routes work and how to meet other people for raids?
TYSM good video!
Turning adventure sync on will help hatch eggs quicker also
How to battle gyms? (ik how to press buttons but how to do it better and actually defeat them?!!)
Hi I just started like a month ago and I’m lvl 20 New sub
Thanks!
Great video! The problem for me is that I usually play at my house where I can't get access to pokestops so I can't do stuff like spinning pokestops, gyms, and raiding often
Same dude, I usually play in my house cuz there’s nothing walkable nearby, so into town and at school are the only places I can do stuff
Question? I just started. And have a question. Which Pokémon should I favorite? And do I need to carry every type of Pokémon itself? That’s what I’ve been doing and just powering them up.
subscribed!
You didn’t talk about the 50 free coins per day from gyms… that’s a massive thing to leave out of a beginner’s guide
I haven’t played the game much in the last year and a half, only really on community days I’d play. I honestly stopped cuz raids were too hard, item space was too little, and no wild spawn legendaries. I think it’s crazy niantic has yet to add wild spawning legendaries, I would genuinely be so excited to get out and look for them if they did
Oh my gosh man, this game is gonna make me actually fit rip
Do they track your distance via gps location or do they track steps? How are they gauging how many kilometers I walk? Is there benefit to enabling location services when the app is closed?
Thanks a lot
I'm not a beginner but I still like listening to these just for some tips
Blue and red straight to bed 😂
Black and yellow help the fellow 🙌🏻🐝
Let’s get this man to 100k
Hi! Which team should I pick at lvl 5
Thank you for guide very helpful hello from inda
If I want to start now but I have an old lv23 account from 2017 with random pokemon and not really well built because it was only for a few weeks, should i continue old account or just start fresh and maybe trade a few from the old account? Thank youuu!!
You said that the red egg is hard to get for new players but I’m level 11 and I still got one, maybe I’m just lucky but like how much CP should a level 11’s Pokemon be?
Dope vid Count, this will be great for nascent trainers
Hope so bro
Maybe I missed it, but did you mention anything about buddy pokemon?
Just recovered my account from 2016 haha, getting started again
What is good damage for a pokemon
I wish they'd have the same combat as in Pokemon games...only thing stopping me playing this game
And what if there is no one playing this game from your area and the battles u have to do it alone and win never ??
the reason i never play this for long cuz there is like 5 pokemon stops where i live they never added anymore over the years
I got stuck on a page to choose a team and I randomly chose mystic. What does this mean for me? Is there any way to change it?
i just wen’t back in game and i’m struggling , thinking of quitting again …
I just came back to the game
Only just started playing I’m level 17 is that good but I keep finding the same Pokémon any tips ?
Wow I’ve never seen such nice comments the Pokémon community really is cool
i lost my old account pft so i made a new one like 6 ish months ago and i’m already on level 26 almost 27 i somehow got 1,029,530 xp already but i haven’t played pokémon go since 2016 until recently and now i’m kinda obsessed but i honestly have no idea what i’m doing rn hahah
I'm on level 39 I 1st started playing Pokemon Go in March 2022
Having tough time starting very hard
I played in 2016 still have the account apparently I have charmander! Watching this so I can get back it to it as apparently I can transfer the Pokémon from GO to Pokémon Home?
Hey, returning players have the possibility to enter a referral code that both players will benefit from by ingame rewards + pokemon encounters, like charizard, …
You can go to your profile, then to friends, and on invite. If you can enter a referral code there, mine would be JKHPXDPYT :)
I have been feeding my buddy berries to come on adventures with me. What is the benefit of this?
As brand new player struggle find good video explaining game to abousloute beginner still no idea I'll keep searching very overwhelming
This probably won't be answered but hopefully it will, I'm a returning player and I have a Haunter with Lick which I learned is very good but I want to evolve him, will it remove lick or can I decide not to?
Gengar has different moves, so yes it will remove Lick
