    I have listened to this song multiple times in various renditions now. And one thing stood out to me that was worth mentioning. Notice as our Blessed Lord Jesus Christ descends, our vision ascends. Starting at the mortal and silent Earth. Then to where God is upon Earth now, in the Most Blessed Eucharist. Then we ascend to the angels descending to here below, and finally to Christ upon the Throne of the Most High with the seraphim and cherubim worshipping the Almighty God of All Creation.
    This speaks also of the process of salvation. Christ has come and we yet await to reach Heaven a d have a foretaste of Heaven in the Most Holy Eucharist where we recieve our Blessed Lord in His full body blood, soul and divinity. This is an amazingly deep theologically rich song. We need more music of this sort, so take note if you seek to make worship music. God bless you who read this. Amen.

      The Lord God Jesus Christ is in heaven, He does not live in a wafer or piece of bread.
      The Lord's supper is a REMEMBRANCE of the Son of God's sacrifice and His Father's love for us, and a reminder of our sinfulness and second death that Jesus came to take away from us which involved the sacrifice of His body and the pouring out of His blood at the foot of the cross.
      (He completely fulfilled the Old Testament demand for sacrifice, that's why the blood sacrifices were ended with Jesus)
      The power of salvation is in the GOSPEL.
      Now that sacrifice and innocence and eternal life of Christ can imputed to us through obedience to the gospel:
      Repentance Toward God the Father, and Faith Toward the Lord God Jesus Christ
      (Acts 2)
      If we repent and believe in Jesus Christ, we will be forgiven and one day sup with Christ in His Heavenly Kingdom.
      God bless you all!

      @@davidmcintosh3468 God is omnipresent. Heaven is not merely a place, it is a state of being. In God we live and more and have our being. The Eucharist is not a wafer after Transubstantiation, the being of the bread and wine fade and become the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Christ. If God can become man, there is nothing saying He can not take on the accidents of bread and wine. He is Creator and sustainer of the existence of all things and all creatures in their goodness, beauty and truth reflect dimly part of God Who is Goodness, Beauty, and Truth Himself. This is not to say God is these things but they reflect Him like an artist`s work reflect the artist. What I am trying (poorly) to say is, Christ is present truly and substantially in the Most Holy Eucharist. After transubstantiation He replaces the substance of the bread and wine and leaves only the accidents (appearance and chemical structure and other surface or sensorial aspects) The form and substance become Christ in merely the appearance of bread and wine. I could point to eucharistic miracles as evidence but I think showing proof from Sacred Scripture would be more appropriate here.
      Christ when pressed by the Jews about saying that unless we eat His Flesh and drink His Blood we have no life in us did not say it was symbolic. He pressed it further and even as His disciples left, He did not back down, He turned to the Apostles and asks them if they would also leave. If it were merely meant to be memorial, this would not make sense as it would require either Christ to be lying to them. He would be doing so by letting them believe that He meant it rather than it being some vague hyperbole after He knew they were questioning about eating His Body and drinking His Blood. And there are many other places where when Christ's symbolic meaning is misunderstood by someone (the Apostles after the Feeding of the 4000 regarding bread, or Nicodemus about being born again) that He does explain what He means. Instead, here he doubles down and speaks more not less explicitly about eating His Flesh and drinking His Blood. Clearly Christ is not speaking of cannibalism but neither can it be symbolic, it makes no sense for Our Blessed Lord to place the entire enterprise of salvation to possibly cease over a symbolic meaning. Couple this with the fact that Christ is the Lamb of God and that the Passover sacrifice is not complete until the lamb is not merely slain, but eaten, and it becomes clear that Our Lord is intending this as a Passover sacrifice. Consider also that in the Last Supper, the fourth cup of blessing is not drunk. Also, in the Old Testament the Bread of the Presence always present in the Sanctuary in the Temple and eaten by the priests every Sabbath when it was replaced, along with the Manna are both called to be 'an everlasting covenant before the Lord'. Both are prefigurements of Christ as Bread come down from Heaven to feed us and are fulfilled in the Most Holy Eucharist where indeed the Eternal Passover sacrifice is completed when we together eat Lamb of God and drink the cup of blessing. Christ fulfills the Law, He does not abolish it.
      Look at the story of the Road to Emmaus, the two disciples only recognize Jesus when He breaks the bread as He did in the Last Supper, this signals that He is present with us in this. This is further evidenced by the fact that in Revelation what is going on in the Heavenly Temple is a Mass. Christ the Lamb of God, is being offered for the sins of the world on an altar. Indeed it is a meal of fellowship, but it is so much more than that. The offering of the Holy Eucharist brings Christ to His people in every generation so He shall be with us always until the end of the age. And it is fulfilling our roles as a priests (we are called to be priest, prophet, and kings. Prophets in calling out evil and proclaiming the Kingdom, and kings by ruling over ourselves in Christ and resisting evil by Christian means), one that offers sacrifice to God. We have nothing we can offer Him, Christ is that offering that make any meager sacrifices we can make have any meaning at all. And this is where we do as Christ commanded, we eat His Body and drink His Blood. We partake of the Paschal Lamb and drink of the Cup of Blessing, we eat the Bread Come Down from Heaven and so commune most perfectly as He nourishes our souls with Himself. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. It is by Him we are saved.

    Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence
    1. Let all mortal flesh keep silence,
    and with fear and trembling stand;
    ponder nothing earthly-minded,
    for with blessing in his hand,
    Christ our God to earth descendeth,
    our full homage to demand.
    2. King of kings, yet born of Mary,
    as of old on earth he stood,
    Lord of lords, in human vesture,
    in the body and the blood;
    he will give to all the faithful
    his own self for heavenly food.
    3. Rank on rank the host of heaven
    spreads its vanguard on the way,
    as the Light of light descendeth
    from the realms of endless day,
    that the powers of hell may vanish
    as the darkness clears away.
    4. At his feet the six-winged seraph,
    cherubim, with sleepless eye,
    veil their faces to the presence,
    as with ceaseless voice they cry:
    Alleluia, Alleluia,
    Alleluia, Lord Most High!

  • @teluvinas
    @teluvinas Před 11 měsíci

    This hymn carries such strong spiritual impact because it is ancient, derived from the earliest church, people who knew Jesus and had witness directly from the apostles. It is also a hymn from the persecuted church. It is derived from the church in Jerusalem, the liturgy of St James (the Just, one of the apostles and bishop of Jerusalem in the first century). The earliest surviving written record* we have of the words is 275AD, and the current wording (Greek) to Bishop Cyril of Jerusalem ~350AD.
    The words are all biblical, from Old Testament (e.g. Habakkuk 2:20, “The Lord is in his holy temple; let all the earth keep silence before him,” and the heavenly imagery from Isaiah) and the New Testament: The Lord’s Supper/Eucharist as body of Christ from Jesus’ teaching in all four gospels, especially John. Also Paul’s description of the correct way to participate in the Lord’s Supper, 1 Corinthians 11:23-32.
    (*remember as a result of religious unrest, Jerusalem was conquered two times by the Roman Empire in the early Christian period, so only having 3rd century written evidence does not indicate that this liturgy is not apostolic. )

    as the Light of light descendeth
    from the realms of endless day,
    that the pow'rs of hell may vanish
    as the darkness clears away.
    4 At His feet the six-winged seraph,
    cherubim with sleepless eye,
    veil their faces to the Presence,
    as with ceaseless voice they cry,
    “Alleluia, alleluia,
    alleluia, Lord Most High!”

    This song is used by both Christian and Pagan Catholic Church, and Pagan mixed Orthodox church. However This song was written during a time when the Roman Emperors were persecuting Christians. Christians that are closer to Assemblies of God or Baptist Christians.

    More beautiful than the voice and the woman singing the song are the words. And while I don't think the Bible supports the doctrine of transubstatiation nonetheless, The Holy One does promise to come and abide in the hearts of the broken and contrite. It is also ironic (respectfully- not trying to dis the singer) that in context of the angels veiling their faces at the name of the majesty of heaven all the while the camera orbits the woman showcasing her talent. Sometimes we just don't understand you earth people.

    Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence
    1. Let all mortal flesh keep silence,
    and with fear and trembling stand;
    ponder nothing earthly-minded,
    for with blessing in his hand,
    Christ our God to earth descendeth,
    our full homage to demand.
    2. King of kings, yet born of Mary,
    as of old on earth he stood,
    Lord of lords, in human vesture,
    in the body and the blood;
    he will give to all the faithful
    his own self for heavenly food.
    3. Rank on rank the host of heaven
    spreads its vanguard on the way,
    as the Light of light descendeth
    from the realms of endless day,
    that the powers of hell may vanish
    as the darkness clears away.
    4. At his feet the six-winged seraph,
    cherubim, with sleepless eye,
    veil their faces to the presence,
    as with ceaseless voice they cry:
    Alleluia, Alleluia,
    Alleluia, Lord Most High!
