    Pretty easy to get, but a lot of people don’t know how respect works anymore. I know of this because I’ve been trying to ladder climb with no real success but now that I have a genuine plan on what I want to do with content I don’t really need to lean to other content creators. Eventually people will get the hang of their content, get an audience and also other content creators as friends.
    In short: respect people, don’t try to climb the ladder with other peoples clout, do your own thing and have commitment

  • @rakusho1691
    @rakusho1691 Před 5 měsíci +2

    I believe even the attempt at ladder climbing goes to show the content of that persons character, where they will go out of their way to get close and use others in order to get somewhere. Not that kind of person I want to be around, as it's more preferable to be genuine with someone than to pretend and have it all blow up in my face later.

  • @mothskey

    It is what it is, not just in social media but irl too like you're more likely to be open to communicate with and potentially befriened someone you see often than a complete stranger. For example when going to a shop/cafe even if you don't know each other personally if you visit a shop regularly they'll recognize you and generally be more receptive towards you than others

    I don't see anything wrong with being good "work friends". If people get along well on stream, and have good enough chemistry to bounce off each other smoothly, that's great. Both of them get content, chat is entertained, everybody wins! There's no need afterwards to hang out privately IRL or via Twitter stalking. That's dishonest if they just want to work together. Be on the same level and everything is cool. Capishe?

  • @grey4798
    @grey4798 Před 5 měsíci +1

    Maybe its because ive become disilusioned with people in general but ive gotten used to seeing people be just numbers to others that even while im watching a friend start his content creation journey and treat his viewers as actual people, its kinda jarring, but in a good way. I never thought it could be a possibility where people actually care. But if there are people that actually do, i think thats pretty neat. And well, it also makes sense to care cuz in any creative industry, its the consumers that make you. But yeah, i guess its just nice to see now and then people actually seeing the usernames more as people than as numbers.
    I tend to lurk more cuz i never think what i say will be seen or anything, but little by little, cuz of things like this, makes me think that maybe its worth a shot now and then. Me wanting to share my thoughts also makes me consider starting content creation myself, though i dont exactly believe in myself. But im working on that.
    Anyway sorry for the ramble, if you got this far, hope youre doing well. Take care

    Side tangent, the shakey body movement, eye shaking, dark circles under the eyes, the color palet, and the military asthetic of clothing combined with the more charged/heated subject matter really gives off a manic personality and explosive passion. You can really tell that this character you've created here is meant to be the outlet for the things you cant normally say, and I think that's why it's caught you so much attention as of recently. It's fascinating how people are drawn to those who speak what most everyone else is thinking, or at least who aren't afraid to say what they want to say and stand their ground over it.

  • @PatchWorkExe
    @PatchWorkExe Před 5 měsíci +1

    I wanna be friendly as a friend - but it's hard to 'meet' other content creators. I make it quite clear whenever I approach someone if I'm looking for networking or friendship (well, unless the person is skish then I try to be more tactful).
    I wanna befriend Midas, but so do probably hundreds of thousands of people at this point and I can completely understand and respect how it can be overwhelming. I've never been 'overwhelmed' in terms of being a content creator (for which I am, but I suck at it and haven't grown enough to encounter this problem - although it's happened to me as being a community manager in ArmA 3 groups) - but having been a security guard playing crowd control or site access control (theme park) or having being upper management at a theme park I can understand the pressure of a lot of eyes are ON you. All of the eyes have brains that want your attention for something and/or are "up to something". Some of the brains behind the eyes think it's "funny" to fuck with you in different ways. Getting aggressive, playing mind games, and all other sorts of toxic shit. Some of the brains behind the eyes are snakes that want to strike. It's anxiety inducing.
    Midas can't always tell - truly - which one of us down here in community land wants to be her friend, wants to use her for our own gains, or wants to cause negativity upon her and most online personalities are the same way. Sometimes she might be able to, but not always.
    I made the mistake of letting online people "get too close" and a handful of them ripped my fucking heart of my chest a couple months ago like I was being assailed by Mola Ram from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
    I'm not gonna give Midas or anyone shit for that matter for not returning my Twitter DMs or not acknowledging my comments. I like talking to Midas, I like when she acknowledges my comments, I like when we get to talk. But; I understand something that a lot of people online need to understand and it's that just because you really like someone online doesn't mean it's gonna 'work out' even though you really, really want it to. It doesn't matter how cool or how much you really wanna be in someone else's life because they check all the boxes for you and have a lot of personality traits you enjoy. There is a possibility, especially with online content creators, that you may never be acknowledged or you may even get a short few words in edge wise and have a cool few interactions; you have to prepare yourself for the fact that-that might be it and it might not go farther than that. It's dangerous to emotionally overinvest yourself in someone before you are their friend or before you have assurance you get to be apart of their life more than the limited interactions or zero interaction.
    Parasocial relationships are scary and easy to develop. I've had to go through that shit as an ArmA 3 community manager where someone got way too invested in me, tried to have "heart to hearts" with me when I barely knew them and only knew 'of' them, tried to council me on shit that was none of their business. This person kept ignoring all the signs that they were not who they thought they were in my life and in the community and tried to pull the platonic friendship version of "I think I am the company's best assets" which would be "I see myself as your best friend and a community corner stone". They had a door firmly slammed on their ass after they tried to cause a stink while self projecting themselves as the savior of the community. They left thinking that it'd have a ripple effect while being stinky in my PMs and they realized just as I blocked them that "uh oh, I wasn't who I thought I was and I can't unburn this bridge". It was an overall uncomfortable experience.
    I deeply stress patience in all aspects of online conduct and just like Midas mentioned in the video. Be nice, be polite, be active in communities you enjoy and to add to that read the room itself not what you want the room to be.
