what dimensions are the L x W x H (ceiling) & did you use AAC materials such as Qcon blocks? I would be interested in speaking to you & viewing if is possible as am in Udon. That sounds very much like a Scottish accent if I'm not mistaken. & is rarely heard here in Thailand
In my country Honduras, this size of construction will be at least $40,000 finished, furniture and appliances, will be another price, on top of the land to build, so we talking about, more than $70,000 total, no swimming pool at all!!
Self build saves money and you can do the build a lot lower you can also get land for Free when you buy a larger plot and sell 1 or 2 plots and get your plot free also 2nd hand steel is also a good option to save money on the build.

Granted, it's a cheap house, but for me, the orientation of the furniture is wrong. I don't like a TV facing the front of a house and sitting with my back to a front door. The bedrooms the same. I'd redesign the interior.
The last house I owned there had cavity walls, this did wonders to keep the inside temperature down, but it costs more of course. It depends on your priorities I suppose.
The house was a rental we moved into added 2 more bedrooms and a large bathroom. We live a modest life for sure

I just stumbled across this video because I am contemplating moving to Thailand in a couple of months , hows your house looking now.? I have been advised to just rent and never buy because rent is cheap and too many stories about Westerners losing their homes to Thai ladies when or if things turn sour.
Rent a house is the best option always if you have a big pension. I like rent free and all my bills paid. The house now has 4 bedrooms 2 shower suite and lots of room for bath tubs. 200.000 for the extension. Marry a good woman with a good income and good job you will have no problems

You. Hire men directly and cut out the middle man. 2 and good point. You save money on materials. You can bring in help for a few days to push a job forward. Paying daily wages helps a lot.
Do your plans include a detailed list of all the materials required to build the house?
Prices now will be higher steel prices are up quiet a lot.also labour
Building materials are very basic I write a list no problems also window and doors.

The house is self-build with paid workers. We buy everything trade and only pay labour 400baht per day per man

Things are more expensive today steel labor so 500.000 ish baht it would cost today
@@Charleslaw sounds correct, still way better than what there charging in the states for a house like this. A house like this would still be 200,000 or more in the USA. You can actually build a home in about a year in Thailand 🇹🇭 on a minimum salary, start a small business and enjoy your life and your family. The west is literally over charging 8 times as much as homes are supposed to cost. I went to check out a small 2 bedroom townhouse in my area and they wanted $170,000 for this thing 😂. You could hear every sound from the outside because it was made out of cheap materials. It was sitting on a third of a plot in a busy area. No yard and no garage lol 😂. Imagine paying a mortgage for a cheap place like this for 15-30 years 😆. The thing would last 15 years before you need remolding smh. I appreciate guys like you showing the average man that there is a better living out there in this life.
